well, the smokes has settled and its all over now. the chase lineup seems ok. the only one im really rooting for is mark martin. i want him to win the title so bad! it would just be excellent to see.

im also excited that kyle busch didnt make it in. because he is a drama queen about losing. and its funny to see him miss out.

I am also hoping Mark Martin will win. He's such a nice guy, has had a winning career that ought to include a championship.

Also agree about Kyle Busch. He needs to develop more maturity before he deserves a championship.

BTW, does anybody else get annoyed when one team mate will let another lead a lap so he can get the five bonus points. This just strikes me as unfair.

I started following NASCAR during Jimmie Johnson's rookie season, so I latched on to him since we were both noobs. So I would love to see him threepeat. Barring that, Mark Matin is someone I respect, so if he'd win it I'd support that.

Really, I'm just fervently praying "anyone but Tony Stewart"...

I used to be right there with you, but for some reason, this year he doesn't bother me as much as he used to.

I'd rather not see Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon win. I like to see it spread around to other drivers who haven't won as much.

well... mark martin won at Loudon... so it looks like his chances are higher than kyle busches were last year! :D the team already had a good positive attitude going in... but this has just lifted them up immensely. im anctious to see how they use this win in the next few weeks.

It was a terrific day for Mark Martin. One down nine to go.

It doesn't look good for Kasey Kahne. His crew chief isn't allowed in the shop because he's leaving. How short sighted is that?

so 3 for martin
1 for jimmie
and 1 for tony

don't see any mentions of Jeff yet. hmmm.

i read in the paper that montoya accused mark of driving dirty and in not as much words "not letting me pass him" on the last 3 laps. he pretty much said that in montoya language: "i wanted to pass him, he blocked me. mark martin drives dirty." lol. hes starting to sound like Kyle now :P

Make that 2 for Tony!!! But if he doesn't win, I'm pulling for Mark!

As for Montoya, yes he does sound a LOT like Busch and drives 'dirty' like him too. What he was really saying is Mark was too good for me to wreck him for the win!!!

You said it, he would have wrecked Martin if he could. He's at the very bottom of my preference list for the chase.

My order of preference is:

Mark Martin
Carl Edwards
Ryan Newman
Denny Hamlin
Greg Biffle
Jeff Gordon
Tony Stewart
Kurt Busch
Jimmie Johnson
Kasey Kahne
Brian Vickers
Juan Montoya

That is NOT my prediction for the finishing order. That's just my list of personal preference.

mine is about the same. i'd swap gordon for vickers though.

Well, a lot of the people in the middle of my list are pretty much put in there randomly. For instance, I really don't have a preference between Hamlin and Biffle. Now Vickers, I actually purposely put in that spot because I think the size of his head and/or temper needs some adjustment. His ego tends to be bigger than his level of accomplishment justifies.

Also would like to see Mark win it. He's has a lot of class and deserves a championship after all these years of fine driving. My favorite driver is Dale Jr, but that's not possible this year. As long as the winner has a Chevy bowtie on the hood I'm happy.

And, Mark Martin is still in first place. So, I'm okay with that last race.

I do wish Montoya would blow an engine or something soon. Not that I'm trying to be mean, but it makes me nervous having him in third place. He's just to prone to do dumb things that ruin things for other drivers when he thinks he has a chance.

thats very true. i keep saying "why can't juan blow an engine?" or "why can't jimmie blow an engine?" jimmie is too close to mark... we need a bigger points gap!

as for Kansas City, i missed teh race. actually i didnt. when i woke up i rewound the tape, and all i had was 5 hrs of a black screen and a blue box bouncing around reading "no signal" STUPID *LOTS of expletives deleted* DTV!!! so i didnt get to see it =( but my mom dvr'd it so she was giving me txt play by play updates when she watched it. lol.

i too am a JR fan. hes the only driver i own a shirt of... but after this season, i may invest in a Mark Martin shirt too, or a Dave Blaney shirt... since hes dead last place of all the full season Sprint Cup drivers (you know, excluding the go or go home'rs and the ringers and what not) and i think seeing another shirt sale may life his spirits :D

You might make his day if you walked up wearing his shirt.

I like mark martin but I hate to see him win by joining hendricks motorsports. rooting for him to win now is like rooting for the NY yankees. Im tired of watching that team win. NASCAR need some parity like other leauges that are successful. Come on man spread the wealth around. I would like to see Kasey Kahne win. any body but a Busch boy. But my gut says montoya or tony will win.

I do want Mark Martin to win, but I understand and agree with your thoughts on Hendricks. I agree, there should be some additional rules that prevent multi car teams from becoming too dominant.

Did you notice the guy who sang the national anthem got the words wrong? He skipped several lines. That was embarrassing.

what happened when i tried to watch teh race...
