Don't know anything more than what I've told you - one was 5lbs 8ozs, and the other was 6lbs something, but don't know which was is which, or which was was born first. Grandma called to say they were all okay and gave the basic details. Laura's kids (grandma) are as close to my own as I'll ever have, so I've been enjoying all this too. Brittani (mom) is supposed to go home tomorrow, if she's doing okay.
Great names! Actually those weights sound pretty good for twins. A good friend of mine has twins who are now almost 9 months old. Lots of work but loads of fun.

I can't go into details, but, I really need lots of prayer right now - some huge family things have come up, and I'm at my wits end. I'm not a drinker, but, at this moment, I could have a lot - just to escape my from present reality.

So sorry to hear that. I was in that place earlier this year, and because I had no church group to go to, I made one of the biggest mistake of my life. I pray that God will give you wisdom and strength through all of this.

We need to keep Hatians in our prayers... they are about to be hit by a fourth tropical system this season and they just can't take much more. This is a very impoverished nation and doesn't have many resources.
Also, we need to keep everyone in the gulf states in prayer as well as there is still a great deal of uncertainty where Ike will make landfall. But we are pretty certain that it will be a major hurricane when it does. The keys have already been evacuated, so we need to remember those who are traveling (again), those who are staying home to hunker down, and those in leadership who will be making decisions.

I just saw on the news that Ike is pretty well zeroed in on the town my grandparents live in - and they live 3 blocks from the bay.
Please pray for judgement for them about leaving. After getting stuck in traffic running from Rita, which didn't end up being that bad in their town.
That said - their house has survived many hurricanes - so they might be fine if they stay.
God knows what to do!

I'll be praying for you guys (ofa23, losgan, trainfan, lisa - and for the people in losgan's grandparent's town as well as the hatians -who so need our prayers and support).
I have four prayer requests. But first, thanks to those who prayed about my neighbors. They are sooo quiet! I can barely believe it. And I didn't even have to report them (maybe someone else did). I am so thankful - God is good - only He could have intervened in this situation  .
The first is for a man that I know who is homeless. He has a lot of different issues (emotional/mental health, substance abuse, etc.) that make things difficult for him. Right now he is staying in a car that someone provided for him, but I'm praying that I'll be able to find some help for him in my city. I don't foresee that he'll be able to stay in the car for a long time, so I'm trying to think ahead on this issue. He can't stay with me because of some of the issues that he has - so I'm praying that God will lead me to a place that will provide good help for him.
Also, waves of homesickness have been washing over me lately - and I've been away from home for close to a year and a half. It isn't so much my family, because we talk on the phone all of the time. But, I miss a neighboring city that I used to live close to. It was at the center of everything - a true political town with an international presence where there was always something happening. I miss it so much that it floors me. I'm trying not to let my missing it mar my time here - there is much that I love about this town as well. That is my prayer - that I'll appreciate what I have here and not make comparisons.
Ok - that is enough for one post. I'll put the other two in the next one.

Ok - prayer requests #3 and #4.
I, like many singles, cycle through periods of contentment and discontent about being single. I love many aspects of my life and feel so incredibly blessed to have lived the life that I have. I've been able to do and see so much and have opportunities that - had I been born maybe 10 or 15 years earlier - I might not have had. Or, if I had grown up in another country (which was an option for me). I am now working in a place however, where people are hooking up (I mean that in a clean way, not the world's way) all of the time (lots and lots and lots of weddings). I'm in a different age group, so there aren't many options for me, but being around all of this often makes me feel so sad and unwanted. I've had some interest here and there, but not the right kind. One guy who is kind of flirty is married (I keep my distance), another guy wasn't saved. The one guy I'm interested in is in a relationship - I think. I'm trying to maintain a good attitude and trying to wait on the Lord, but emotionally this is very difficult for me. Being far away from home also doesn't help much either. As I said, I cycle in and out, so tomorrow I might be fine, but tonight ... well I feel sad about it. Generally when I pray, it is answered and the request is granted - often very quickly. It is amazing and I am so grateful. Very few things in my life are withheld. But this one thing feels like a big heavy stone that I just can't move - no matter what I do or say. It is just a brick wall. To be honest, I don't understand why I have to walk this path, why I have to be alone, why it is this way for me. But before I start to feel sorry for myself (been there, done that), I think about the many ways that God has blessed me - so much that I couldn't even tell it all.
So my prayer is that God would just help me to see and do what he wants me to see and do in this situation. I want to have a good attitude about this and bless all of the people that God is divinely putting together. I have to bless them, not be jealous or feel self-pity, and I have to walk and talk in faith that God is bringing someone for me someday. This is difficult - so I'd appreciate your prayers.
And finally, God has been leading me to start a freelance writing business. I've been dragging my feet. I need to make progress on it - so I'd just appreciate your prayers that I would be able to stay on task.

I woke with a horrible headache this morning. I'm supposed to be meeting with the DIRT director, so I know it's just an attack from the enemy to keep me from doing so, but, I feel horrible - truly like I'm going to be sick any minute.

I recently heard some upsetting news and while I understand that God is in control and He ALWAYS keeps His promises, I don't want to succumb to my flesh and start worrying (or worse; crying) about something that doesn't need to be worried about. You know?

Today, at work, our entire department found out our jobs will be "impacted" (euphamism for terminated) in phases - starting at the end of this month until the end of June 2009. The financial industry has been severly impacted this past year and we work for citicorp. Luckily I am not impacted until June so I have time to find work else where -but its hard not to worry with two kids and a mortgage. I just gotta keep praying!
Just asking that you keep my fellow employees and myself in your prayers. You all are certainly in mine!
