That's what I thought. I think it is great. Don't ask where I got "2Preacher" from. I think it had to do with the server not taking "Preacher, Mtnpreacher, Preacherman, Preacher2, Preacher1, etc. Turns out 2Preacher is the only one it would take.
I am a an honest to goodness Preacher btw.

I have a rather unique ministry at the moment. I am Baptist but my "church" is in the Nursing home. I don't have a regular congregation at this point. I am in between churches by God's choice.
He has given me a ministry in the local "Life Care Center" working with a very diverse group of older citizens. They are unable to attend regular church services outside the nursing home, so I bring the services to them.
Been doing it for 30 plus years off and on in different places and I love it. Started when I was 13 and went with two older men from my church. I play the guitar and sing and then preach a short message.

It is very hard for me to understand people who claim to be believers who have no thought regarding modesty. The two seem not to mix. Oh, well!
By the way, I used to have a ministry to a retirement home. I didn't do any preaching, however  , but I prepared the service and got a group of people to go, including musicians and a speaker.

Thanks again. As to the issue of modesty, I have problems with folks who seem to ignore it as well, but when ever we attach anything EXTERNAL whether it be dress, actions, language, church attendance, etc. to a persons Salvation we are treading a very thin line between grace and legalism.
Salvation is a matter of the heart and only God in heaven sees the heart. To say that one who professes to be a Christian and yet dresses or acts different than I do as a Christian is not a Christian, sets me up as a judge of things which I have no authority to judge. Only God and that other individual know the condition of the individual's heart.
Yes, the Scriptures do say "by their fruits ye shall know them" but it also says that the mark of believers is their "love" for God and each other. If I have reason to doubt my brother/sister's salvation or testimony because of the things I observe in their life and behavior, then "love" demands that I lovingly confront them with the issue in the spirit of humility. (Matt. 18:15-17; Gal. 6:1-2; Ephesians 4:2-7;Rom. 13:8; I Peter 1:22; I John 4:7; 4:12; II John 1:5)
The "natural" inclination is to avoid confrontation for most of us and I admit that it is hard to know when to confront a brother/sister, but if we truly love them as Christ loves them, we must do it. We must do this ALWAYS with the attitude of Paul who said, "except be for the grace of God, there go I".
The hardest part is that sometimes people don't respond the way they should when confronted. This is why most Christians don't do it. It is not because they don't love their brethren. It is sometimes because they, because of things in their own life, are not in a position to confront. OR it is because they fear the reaction of the other person.
I have prayed many times that God would keep me in such a mindset that when others confront issues in my life, I would be willing to listen and change what needs to be changed. The problem is most people won't say anything.
Just so we stay on topic, that brings to mind another whine of mine. I would rather a person who is upset with me over something or has been secretly offended by me, tell me so rather than keep it to themselves and stew until they blow up and our friendship is ruined. I have had this happen a lot in the past and it really hurts.
I have even confronted some in love, but even then sometimes they won't tell you straight up what is bothering them. Their actions say they're upset but they won't say why.
Maybe I am being over sensitive and there is really nothing to worry about, but it really hurts me especially when it is a close friend who acts this way and seemingly won't allow the situation to be corrected.

not a church whine- I guess it'd be a praise but I am sorely disappointed.
Hurricane hanna went right over my house and I prepared and my husband is in iraq for 2 weeks and you'd think that SOMETHING would'a happened but *sigh* NOTHING!
Okay so it is not a whine but really all the HYPE and then this beautiful let down.

preacher- I have lived through my fair share. Dad was Navy- that meant living in coastal areas. I can remember taping windows and boarding up the big glass doors on the back of the houses often. We have had a hand full since we moved here. Gaston in 2004 was only a cat 1 storm but it made our little here and gone again creek into a river and downed a few trees. We caught remnants of Alberto in 2006 and had fun the same year with Ernesto. Again flooding and high winds. in 2007 we were camping on Ft. Fisher as Gabrielle came on shore.
We had such high expectations *wink* and were totally prepared (honestly we were) as we figured that this would the prime time to have a killer storm as my husband is out of town.
Yes- it was divine protection.

We weren't protected here. Sometimes I just want to meet Jesus. And I figured if it was through a hurricane that would be fine by me...
Also, it's new to me and so that kind of brought up the level of excitement for me...
I am sure many people do not think it is a time for REJOICING, but rejoicing I was and praying for it tooo...

I love thunder storms and Hurricanes usually come with big ones. I have actually fried a computer by storm casing online then running outside to watch the show. ZAP! Mmmm I lost all kinds of stuff when that happened. I could be a storm chaser. Something about watching the awesome power of God unleashed across the sky like that. *WOW*
I have always LOVED storms! Clara in 1977 or Dotti in 1976 I dunno which it was but I remember it getting all calm outside and my folks going into the back yard to set the swing set back up so I took my little brother and sister across the street to the drainage ditch. This was a 10' deep trench that ALWAYS had water in it. I was either 7 or 6 at the time so my sister would have been 6 or 5 and my brother would have been 4 or 3. My folks found us all three sitting with our feet dangling in the 10' of water in the drainage ditch watching the back side of the hurricane come rolling in. MmmmHmmm the storm was only half over.
My only REAL whine right now is that my honey is baking in Iraq where it got up to 122* today.

you know the scripture that says...Jesus comes like the rain. I LOVE that scripture. And He truly comes like the rain. Literally and figuratively!

Storms are not a whine for me because I am a weather nut.
I spent the entire Labor Day weekend plotting Gustav. We are waterlogged from the rain for 5 days.
I can't really say a whole lot right now because IKE is out there and I'm busy flipping channels between the weather channel and CNN and checking the NOAA radar sites.
Wow! What if N.O. has to evacuate again so soon. It is obvious to say that a million folks will immediately go postal, huh?

Popsi, I am in NC- East of Raleigh(which I NEVER spell right the first time).
Darryl, is it looking like Ike will visit you all? As for N.O. yeah, I think some folks will go postal fer sure. There'd be A LOT of complaining going on there. I wonder if any of them post here?

Church was awesome today.
I am gonna whine about my Migraine though. I cried at church(more than once) and now my migraine is kicking hard. Knife in the eye and nauseous kinda kicking.

My biggest whine...have a headache because the bestie has a definition of pride that I don't think is truly pride...
She believes that if someone knows something and then someone else is like....that's wrong...the person saying that the other person is wrong is prideful...
Or something like that...And I don't think that is pride, but oh well. We are done talking about it now!

Knock yourself out. But I was a music major and have played & arranged for our church orchestra since 1992. I'd rather watch paint dry than listen to just chords.
Yeah, "just chords" without a melody either being played on an instrument or sung is pretty boring. Who would want to hear "just chords." But chording as a means of accompaniment can sound fantastic. Depends on the musician and/or the arrangement. There's chording and there's chording. KWIM?
