Welcome to Diane's thoughts,
both deep and not so deep!

Good Evening Everyone!

Well I've had another exciting day. LOL! I'm sure my mundane life must leave some of you shaking your heads, but I do get such lovely notes encouraging me to continue sharing my days.

Today was busy. The boys and I slept late and then rushed around. I had been given 17 Christmas tins by a disabled woman I'd given some yarn to and had to go pick them up in 'Winston, Ga.' I had a bill to pay a little further east so did it all at once. Then I was given a BRAND NEW car seat for infants 5 to 40 lbs. I'd loaned my infant seat out to the hurricane evacuees and never got it back. Mine was old (given to me used and dirty) and this one had been given to a mother when she had her child in her car without a car seat. Some police benevolent group.... BRAND NEW! The straps are still in elastic and the directions are still 'attached'. This is quite a blessing since I'll be keeping the new infant with Cystic Fibrosis and another infant a few days a week. Just in case! While picking that up, in the completely opposite direction, I took time to pay our water bill. Then there was the cleaners on the other side of town. LOLOL

To really add excitement, a trip to the dump was in order! I was in tan corduroy overalls and the old fellars were in jean overalls so we didn't match today. They were picking through the metal things someone had just dumped so didn't take time to visit. LOLOL If I take something decent or shareable, such as wheels and axle to a wagon, I'll sit it in the share area.

Tonight we went out for supper. We do many Friday nights. There's a family owned Italian restaurant downtown in historic Villa Rica that has GREAT food and low prices! I had a giant serving of lasagna for $5.00. The 3 of us shared an antipasta too. So Good! The family is a home schooling Christian family. We run into so many town or church friends and the atmosphere is one of hollering across the tables to joke or just chat. They serve delicious sweet tea too. Cannolis..... YUM!

After that, I ran to Wal-Mart to the beauty shop inside and got my hair cut. I'd started letting it grow over my ears like in my avatar but it's so flat! Baby fine! I had it cut back up over my ears and layered to give it some umpfh!

Hubby is supposed to have tomorrow off, but lots of weekends gets a call anyhow. We're hoping tomorrow is quiet so we can just rest and enjoy each other's company.

I've been working on knitting again. It's coming but too many years have passed and the tension is off, too tight, too loose, can't remember this or that.... A girlfriend at church told me to stop by the church library this Wednesday before AWANA if I'm still having problems. She could knit in her sleep!

Well, Scooter's down for the night and Patches wants more attention. Nick's eating Halloween candy and he and Jim have turned on some movie. They're going to see Chicken Little tomorrow at the new movie theater down the road a piece. We're moving UP in the world! Villa Rica is building a gold museum. I can't wait til it's finished. You can view our whole downtown at this link. View Diane's town here.

Wishing you a lovely evening and peaceful sleep!

Hello everyone!

Not much going on here today. Jim took Nick to see Chicken Little and I did laundry and played with the dog. I also took time for a nap.

The weather was so lovely that the neighborhood kids had a game of touch football out in the street. Thankfully, no one fell on the cement to get scratched up!

I'm sure having a hard time getting used to the time change! I stay awake too late and then sleep later. Can't do that for long. Beginning this coming Friday, I'll have the infant with Cystic Fibrosis arriving at about 6:45 every morning. Ty already comes at 5:50. Those hours are going to be very hard on me! I'm not a morning person anymore! Until a few years ago, I had everything finished before 10:00 but our Nick is a night person and I've evolved along with him. I have a very bad habit of watching the prime time shows on west coast stations so from 11 - 2ish!! Bad idea!!

We're watching 'Gas Light'. Hubby was in the play during high school and we've not watched the movie in many years. I've actually forgotten the plot. Angela Lansbury is in it. It's from 1944.

Well, enjoy the forums and don't forget Sunday School and church tomorrow!

Hope everyone had a lovely Lord's Day!

I had 8 in Sunday School. Guess the calls and cards are finally paying off. The children were really good but everyone was sick.

I left Nick home with a sore throat and not feeling well. His throat is still bothering him but I don't think it's strep but just a viral cold or drainage bothering him. He's laid around most of the day.

I fell asleep right after lunch and slept four very hard hours. I just cannot adjust well to the time changes! It's been dark here for over an hour and it seems like we should go to bed.... I noticed when I walked the dog at 6 a.m. that it was still really dark too.

Tomorrow is music class. Hope Nick feels like going. They have a concert in December. Tuesday is neuter day for Scooter and I have to have him in Carrollton at 8 a.m. Need to find that address on Mapquest!

Hope everyone has a lovely evening.

God Bless,
Diane Tavegia

Let's try this again! Timeout Errors! Boo--- Hiss--!

Good evening everyone!
We had a wild and crazy day!

Scooter got neutered! No stitches. Hmmmm.... OUCH! Still trying to figure that out! He had to be there before 8:00 a.m. and picked up at 6:00 p.m. He seems fine. Playful but maybe sore. He's already asleep for the night.

Nick's feeling much better. No more fever or throwing up but he has a fine head cold. He's upset because he won't get 100% for AWANA tomorrow night since he missed Sunday School last week. I told him just to explain he was sick. He's only missed S/S 2 times in forever.

I had a banking problem which may cause me some overdraft charges. I renewed my drivers license on line. First time for Georgia! They've taken down their website since everyone is being charged multiple times for each transaction. I caught it when I noticed our balance was too low but even tho I used my Visa debit card, they don't guarantee the funds being replaced until Nov. 21st. It'll just cause us problems for 2 days so praying nothing automatic comes through before I can get some funds in the bank.

It's been quite warm the last two days. Thursday will return to fall like weather. I like the cool days and chilly nights.

I begin keeping a Korean baby tomorrow. The mother called and needed me to begin right away. I've never met them. Baby girl is 6 months old and has breathing problems but mom isn't sure what it is. She said baby needs oxygen. Sort of odd... She has another child or two but only needed care for the one.

I'm to begin keeping a newborn with Cystic Fibrosis and only one (reflux) kidney on Monday. I'm really concerned about this one. He seems so very ill! His grandmother is a long time friend and I know his mom and dad. I'm doing some research because it appears they may qualify for SSI that would be more than the mother earns after paying me so she may be able to stay home with baby. Of course, it may be emotionally more than she can handle right now.

Well, I hope everyone has a very nice evening and a wonderful tomorrow!

God Bless,
Diane Tavegia

Just a quick check in tonight! I had a rough day with the new baby. Lexie is 6 months old and was asleep when mom dropped her off. She awoke terrified and screamed for all but 2 hours out of 7 hours! She's a very loud screamer, too.

We had a good showing for AWANA tonight and I had an answered prayer while there. I'm very concerned about the baby with Cystic Fibrosis that is to start Friday and got a chance to talk for quite a while with a precious doctor in our church who just retired. He'd delivered the mom of this sick baby and had not heard of the baby's illness. We discussed the symptoms baby is already having and he also believes the baby won't live long. My heart tells me and then hearing the lung sounds has led me to feel this.... but Dr. also said that the Lord had me agree to keep this child so long before his birth and diagnosis because I have empathy and enough medical training to help this family. I do have to admit that I'm a bit afraid tho. I would not want this child to die in my care while I also have my own child and a 4 year old in the house. I'm sure it would be very traumatic for all of us.

Well, It's less than 6 hours til the first child arrives so I'll head off and fall asleep to some re-runs.

God bless and keep you all!

Good Evening all,
Today was much better with Lexi. I also got to meet her 3 year old sister, Maggie. Lexi only cried a few minutes before falling asleep and then while I warmed her supper. She was here from 10:30 til after 8:00 p.m.

Tomorrow is the first day I'll be keeping baby Jeremiah who has terminal Cystic Fibrosis and one reflux kidney. I feel a little more comfortable after talking with the doctor at church last night but pray he doesn't cry all the time for me. It's such a sick, dying animal, sound. VERY sad...

I have come to realize that I get NOTHING really done each day in my house. I do try but I'll begin a deep cleaning chore and one or the other needs something or someone is napping, crying, wanting help on school work, etc. Hubby comes in and out all day and our almost 29 year old doesn't leave for work until 2:00. Some days he works really late and then sleeps a good portion of the day.

Hubby had to work until 8:00 tonight and then drive home (an hour away). Poor guy. He works so very many hours. He's such a hard worker too. Just a great guy.

So, our cold snap has arrived. Our low tonight is to be right at freezing. It's down to 46° already. I turned on the heat in case the temp falls in the house. Our house is well insulated, thank the Lord, so that's a blessing.

Well, Jim's asleep on the sofa, Scooter is asleep in the master bath for the night and Patches is asleep on Nick's bed. Nick's playing on his PS2 and I've got some of my detective shows on so think I'll get Jim to bed and go to sleep myself. Tomorrow will be a very different day.

God Bless!

Good Evening Everyone~

Another crazy day! I had the newborn with Cystic Fibrosis today from 6:45 til about 2:00. He was very good. It's so sad to listen to him breathe and hear the bowel sounds when he eats. It's so hard to understand why such things happen.

I also had the 6 mo. old. Lexi is SO spoiled but I found out why. Her mom called at 3:00 and told me she expects me to hold Lexi all day. That's why they left the other daycare. The woman refused. I quickly told her I do NOT hold a baby all day! Lexi is quite heavy and is here from 10 til 8. She has breathing treatments at 10 and 4.

I've been contacted about another baby who is 8 weeks old. I honestly don't believe I'll be keeping Lexi long. Mother told me I am NOT to crack my windows no matter how nice it is outside because 'she'll catch a cold'. No amount of explaining colds come from viruses and not fresh air would convince her so I just told her I WILL open the windows if it's nice or crack them for some fresh air if I feel like it.

Boy I am exhausted! All the lifting and bending will be something new to get used to. The last baby I had was 14 months by time they moved away.

Forgive me for my groanings about Lexi. I've never kept an infant with such an attitude! SCREAM! Hubby went down to his music room and Nick went into my bedroom to watch t.v. to get away from it. No amount of rocking, singing, walking, etc. would satisfy her the last two hours before her family came to get her.

Hope everyone has a lovely night.
Diane

Happy Lord's Day Everyone,

Since it's been a few days, thought I'd blog a little note.

Today was GREAT at church! It was packed second service! We also had 9 or so for baptism.

I hurt so bad! OUCH! I took more aspirin tonight. It's going to take me a while to get used to leaning over to change the babies so often. The one with Cystic Fibrosis has bowel movements every hour or so. Don't want to leave him in THAT! Also, the little 6 mo. old girl is quite heavy. Her parents are way smaller than me but she's an armload.

I'll have all three tomorrow beginning at 5:45, 6:45 and 10 until 8 ish. I also have visitation tomorrow night so if the mom doesn't get off early, will take Lexi to the nursery. There is NO WAY my husband would listen to her scream for 2 hours! My team only has visitation one night a month. We rotate in four teams.

Wednesday, the CF baby has an appointment at Scottish Rites so he won't be here. He also will be gone from about 9 - 11 on Thursday for baby shots here in town. Friday I never have Ty.

Nick is so thrilled. He got invited over to another home schooling family's house after church and had a great time. He's also going to the big library in the next town tomorrow afternoon to watch 'Return of the Sith' I think he said. He's a real Star Wars fan and so is the other boy. LOVELY family! I teach their 5 year old in S/S.

Well, I do hope everyone had a decent weekend. Sorry Monday came so fast! We didn't have a three day weekend here........ hope some of you did.

God Bless!

Do you just ever feel overwhelmed and wonder WHY, no matter how hard you try, things don't get better? It's been so hard for us the last few years and there's no end in sight. I've given this to the Lord but things don't improve. These last 4 years have been the hardest in my life.

Hubby came home for a few minutes to look up an address. He'd gotten paid. His two weeks pay included a charge back for people dropping pest control for the winter. They charged him $400. He only makes $1,060 a month! His bring home this month is less than our mortgage payment and the car note (only one) is due too.

Hubby is very angry! He's mad at God! He's mad at the company he works for! He's mad at himself.

Jim has his engineering degree in Broadcast t.v. and radio. There's no such degree anymore. A computer does the job. He applies everyday for jobs more along his line of experience and nothing...... not even an interview.

I feel so helpless! My daycare seems to bring in so little most of the time. I'll get children and then either they have moved or gone to school full time, parents changed shifts and I can't do night and days. I won't do Sat. and Sun. I sometimes wonder if Satan is trying to force me to give up the daycare and go back to working nights at someplace like Wal-Mart. When I did that, I wasn't able to teach S/S and just barely taught AWANA.

Oh well...... thanks for letting me vent.

Welcome to Diane's thoughts,
both deep and not so deep!

Good Afternoon all!
It's been one of those CRAZY days around here! First, the infant who is so very ill began bleeding from his mouth. The information on Cystic Fibrosis warned to watch for bleeding when coughing, etc. Well, it turned out he'd slit his gum right where his lip and gum meet so that was good news.

A guy showed up to give us an estimate on repairing an area on our front door frame that has crumbled. Jim had spoken to him many months ago. Nick answered the front door and this fella just comes right in and starts up the stairs. It scared me! Thankfully, Scooter chose this time to bark at the 'intruder'. Once I got him outside, the guy proceeded to take measurements and was quite nice.

We'd listed things on Ebay to compensate for the loss of salary and sold half of what we got around to listing right away. The other items all have 'watchers' and a lot of views. Also, I think we've sold Jim's laptop at a really good price. He's got a lot of add on's for burning CD's and DVD's plus some fancy software. The guy will have to split the payment over 2 weeks. I've got more items to list tonight after church because I haven't been able to find the info and pictures online. This is from Jim's recording studio. The church will not be happy ........ as they use his stuff often. We can't help it tho.

I found a really good story about Thanksgiving for tonight's AWANA lesson in Counsel Time. I need 5 pieces of dried corn but think I can find some in the church kitchen.

I'm still having communication problems with the mother of the Vietnamese baby. Mom claims she doesn't understand when I tell her I will not do part time child care. She also keeps trying to force me to keep the baby on Saturday. I feel sure, from her questions and remarks, that she does understand but doesn't want to accept my 'rules'.

Wow, it's to get really cold tonight. I love the cold weather and our house is insulated very well so it stays warm easily. Also, we have gas heat and that heats up really fast. Maybe I'll light a fire after church.

Hubby has gone to a local dept. store and applied for some Christmas hours. We're hoping he can pick up some evenings or weekend work to help us get some bills caught up. We'll file our taxes just as early as we can and will get back all we've paid, if not more. LOL. That's always a good time for catching up!

Well....... I hope everyone has had a lovely day and is enjoying their weather. If you have any spare snow, send it to MY house!

God Bless!
Diane Tavegia

Welcome to Diane's thoughts for tonight.

How's everyone this cold, cold evening? It's already down to freezing here west of Atlanta and should drop about 10 more degrees! I feel sorry for the animals left out in the cold.

I got quite a good bit of work done today with only the Cystic Fibrosis baby and Nick here. Baby Jeremiah is so very good for such a sick little guy. I did get linked to a ton of information on caring for newborns with CF.

I made up my yearly flier about holiday childcare for people who want to shop or party. Last year I made about $100. for one party. Hope I can pick up some childcare during the holidays! Every penny helps.

Yeah~ Unless something goes wrong, we sold Jim's laptop. We've also sold a good bit of the recording studio items we listed on eBay.

Jim spoke to his district manager about the 'charge backs' on things he sold almost a year ago. None of the cancellations were Jim's fault so he may get that money back. He also asked this manager about getting his four days vacation in PAY instead of being forced to take it off. When you're commission.... and four days....

Tomorrow I have a family coming to meet me and 'check out my home' for possible childcare for their infant but not until January. Mom has off til then. Wish it were sooner, tho.

I finally made it QUITE clear to the mom of the Vietnamese baby that I was not interested in doing part time childcare for her and especially not late at night and weekends. I told her if she brought Lexi NEXT week, I just would NOT open the door. I had given her many phone numbers of others who would do this type care but she liked it because she lives on the street over from me. Too Bad!

Well, hope you all have a very lovely night and keep warm!

Welcome to Diane's thoughts
this chilly evening in Georgia!

Good evening everyone!

Hope everyone has had a great Saturday! Jim had to work today and then had a lot of paperwork when he got home. I did some housework and then had a family come over with their 7 week old. They want me to do daycare beginning in January for their little girl. Mom is a social worker with the state and it's their first child. She has so many worries because of all she's seen!

Tomorrow I'll have both four year old classes. The other teacher and her husband, co teacher, are going out of town for a family honor at another church. Rachell and I will still only have probably 10 kids. Last year I'd have 17- 21 all by myself every week.

I'm finally adjusting to the time change! It takes me a few weeks. With it getting dark so early, I keep thinking it's much later than it is and I do things at the wrong time. I start trying to get Nick in the shower at 6:00. I look for shows on t.v. that come on at 9 when it's only 7!

Well the sale of the Dell Laptop fell through. The young fella decided he'd rather save toward a motorcycle of something else. We've had two other people contact us about it but some want it for giveaway pricing. That won't help or make sense. Waiting it out.... patiently! God is an On Time God!

Psalm 19:9-11 "The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether. They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover, by them Thy servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward."

God Bless,

Drunk Driver

On the last day before Christmas, I hurried to go to the supermarket to buy the remaining of the gift I didn't manage to buy earlier. When I saw all the people there, I started to complain to myself, "It is going to take forever here and I still have so many other places to go.

Christmas really is getting more and more annoying every year. How I wish I could just lie down, go to sleep and only wake up after it..."

Nonetheless, I made my way to the toy section, and there I started to curse the prices, wondering if after all kids really play with such expensive toys.

While looking in the toy section, I noticed a small boy of about 5 years old, pressing a doll against his chest. He kept on touching the hair of the doll and looked so sad. I wondered who this doll was for. Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him, "Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money?"

The old lady replied, "You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear." Then she asked him to stay here for 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.

Finally, I started to walk toward him and I asked him who he wanted to give this doll to. "It is the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for this Christmas. She was so sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her."

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus will bring it to her, after all, and not to worry. But he replied to me sadly. "No, Santa Claus can not bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mother so that she can give it to her when she goes there." His eyes were so sad while saying
this. "My sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mummy will also go to see God very soon, so I thought that she could bring the doll with her to give it to my sister."

My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said, "I told daddy to tell mummy not to go yet. I asked him to wait until I come back from the supermarket."

Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me, "I also want mummy to take this photo with her so that she will not forget me." I love my mummy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister."

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

I quickly reached for my wallet and took a few notes and said to the boy, "What if we checked again, just in case if you have enough money?"

"Ok," he said. "I hope that I have enough."

I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll, and even some spare money. The
little boy said, "Thank you God for giving me enough money."

Then he looked at me and added, "I asked yesterday before I slept for God to make sure I have enough money to buy this doll so that mummy can give it to my sister. He heard me." "I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mummy, but I didn't dare to ask God too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and the white rose." "You know, my mummy loves white rose." A few minutes later, the old lady came again and I left with my trolley. I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind.

Then I remembered a local newspaper article 2 days ago, which mentioned of a drunk man in a truck who hit a car where there was one young lady and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-assisting machine, because the young lady would not be able to get out of the coma.

Was this the family of the little boy?

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the newspaper that the young lady had passed away. I couldn't stop myself and went to buy a bunch of white roses and I went to the mortuary where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wish before burial.

She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.

I left the place crying, feeling that my life had been changed forever.

The love that this little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to that day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunken man had taken all this away from him.

"Before the Paling of the Stars"

Before the paling of the stars,
Before the winter morn,
Before the earliest cock-crow
Jesus Christ was born:
Born in a stable,
Cradled in a manger,
In the world His hands had made
Born a stranger.

Priest and King lay fast asleep
In Jerusalem,
Young and old lay fast asleep
In crowded Bethlehem:
Saint and Angel, ox and ass,
Kept a watch together,
Before the Christmas daybreak
In the winter weather.

Jesus on his mother's breast
In the stable cold,
Spotless Lamb of God was He
Shepherd of the fold:
Let us kneel with Mary Maid,
With Joseph bent and hoary,
With Saint and Angel, ox and ass,
To hail the King of Glory.

The Legend of the Christmas Spider
or How the Tree Got its Tinsel

Once upon a time, a little old woman was busily cleaning her little old house, for that night it would be Christmas Eve and Father Christmas was to come with his bag of gifts. She worked and worked until not a speck of dust was left. Even the spiders had been swept from their webs and forced to take refuge in the farthest corner of the forgotten attic.

Night had fallen and at last the little old woman's work was done. The house was spotless, the Christmas pies were cooling, and the Christmas tree was decorated and waiting for Father Christmas to come admire it. But up in the attic the spiders were sad, for they too wished to see the tree. After much thought, the oldest and wisest spider suggested they wait till the little old woman slept and slip downstairs through a crack in the trapdoor.

When all was silent, they crawled down through the crack and crept across the parlor floor. The tree was so beautiful, standing by the moonlit window, they couldn't resist scurrying up the trunk and out amongst the branches. But upon each branch they crawled to a trail of cobwebs was left behind. When at last they'd inspected every bit of the tree, the whole thing was covered in a shroud of spider webs.

It was almost midnight when Father Christmas trudged into the parlor with his sack. He smiled when he saw the cobweb tree for he knew this was the work of Christmas spiders. But he also knew the old woman would be broken-hearted to see her beautiful tree wrapped in this dusty gray cocoon. So reaching out his hand, he touched the webs and, in a twinkling, turned them to shimmering silver and gold.

Christmas morning, when the little old woman came down and saw her tree sparkling in the sunlight, she was so delighted she danced circles around it, never noticing that within the silver branches spiders danced as well.

Ever since that time tinsel has been hung on Christmas trees with a silver or gold spider among the decorations.

Hello Everyone,

You probably saw on another thread that our pastor resigned today so it was a day of mixed feelings. I'm very concerned for our church and our testimony in the community. He's only been with us a year.

Other than that, it was a lazy afternoon. We had a lovely lunch and then tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for supper. Jon had off for a change. Nick played outside for a little while before the rain began.

I have an easy week ahead. My usual 5:45 child won't be here until 8 and then only Mon- Wed. The Cystic Fibrosis baby will still come around 6:30. I think he'll be here on Friday for part of the day. Hubby is up at 5:45 or 6:00 for work and I usually walk the puppy then, too. Maybe I can sneak in a few mins. extra sleep!

I've advertised that I'll do daycare while people shop so maybe I'll get some kids for this weekend. There's no school all week in Carroll County but Nick and I will still home school. He won't have music class tho.

Hope everyone had a lovely day in church. Whisper a prayer for First Baptist in Villa Rica. We're going to have a meeting on Dec. 4th to vote on the severance package, etc. for pastor and I'm VERY concerned that it's going to be an ugly meeting. I may not attend. I avoid confrontation and fights at all costs.

Matthew 27:14 But He didn't answer him on even one charge, so that the governor was greatly amazed.

Hello Everyone! Boy is it COLD here! The wind is very strong and the rain is ice cold. It's not fun walking puppy at 26° and 20 mph winds!

I had my daycare kids less hours today but it seemed longer because they usually go back to bed when they come. Instead, I woke with hubby at 5:45 and my first child arrived at almost 7:00. The second came at 8:00.

Jon took a vacation day tonight so he and Nick are down in our rec room playing PS2. Jim's got his headphones on and reading a stereo magazine that came today.

Speaking of the mail...... I got my new driver's license. I was making jokes about the 7 year old picture which is good for 5 years when I noticed they have my weight listed at 122 lbs. Now, I'm only 134 - 139 lbs depending on the day, but I started thinking that my next renewal can also be done online and I'll end up 80 years old with a picture from 1998. It IS an okay picture tho. I had on glasses because I hadn't had my cataract surgery yet....

Hope everyone is keeping warm and enjoying their evening!

Welcome to Diane's thoughts,
both deep and not so deep!

Brrrrrrrrrr! It's cold here in Georgia! The wind is awful. 25,000 lost power last night in this area. Thank the Lord, we didn't.

North Georgia got almost 2 inches of snow. I'd love a big snowfall! I can't tell you how much I miss the Connecticut winters.

We had a nice day. Nick had some interesting work for home schooling and Daddy was home part of the day and they worked on Science and Math together while I cared for the other children. We didn't have home school music (band) this week and won't have AWANA since there's no public school this week. We also didn't have church this past Sunday nor this coming Sunday nights. Our retired pastor was already scheduled to preach this coming week. He's 87 I think. LOVELY man of God! I always enjoy his preaching. For those who didn't see my previous post, our Deacons called for the resignation of our new pastor this past week. He'd been with us one year. I know some of the details but will just say Pastor did nothing immoral or illegal! This had been under discussion for a number of months.

Funny story.... We have a fuzzy spider that's about the size of a dessert plate. It's battery powered. Scooter found it and now carries it in and out of the house, its legs kicking.... It's so funny to watch. He's tried to bury it a couple of times but it's so large. I made him leave it out this last time. It's so dirty!

For those who haven't read elsewhere, Scooter is our 6 month old Black Lab that is now pony sized! Patches is our 1 1/2 year old Calico kitty who weighs about 7 lbs. She's long haired and so beautiful. She hates Scooter and slaps his face daily.

I'm concerned about Christmas. I still have to buy for a few grandkids. I have an idea for the girls but they have wealthy grandparents on the other side who buy them everything out there. I cannot compete with them so don't even try. I think I've decided on some things for the soon to be 3 year old but the 5 year old is another story.

Our Nick made a wish list off the KB Toys site and a lot of what he marked is already out of stock. We can't afford to buy for our grown kids or each other so there's not that hanging over my head.

Well, keep warm and God Bless!

God Bless!

Wishing you all
a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

God Bless Us Every One!
