I have never voted for an official to go to washington to advocate for corporations. If indeed we are a free market then big business should take care of itself. Our government should be there to keep them from ill afecting the people. Republicans get intooffice and become corporate advocates when they should be people advocates. That is the problem.

While I don't agree that this is true, I believe that this is what many Americans believe to be true. If this is what Americans think of the republicans then it will be a long road back. Thinks I have heard from people around me. The republicans need to get a to a place where they can address issues. It's always no, not now or later.

I hear this from people:
Why didn't they adequately address the health care issue, years ago
when they had the chance?
Why didn't they adequately adress education when they had a chance?

Someone said something about conservative roots, the problem with that is when you're conservative and preach family values and you fall, it's gonna hurt.

I have voted "republican since I have been voting" I am one of those 20 something conservatives, but there has got to be a calm rational leader with a purpose o really take the party forward for me to even think they have a chance at survival.

GregandJenny,I just wanted to say that while I am a democrat, the way you spoke in this e-mail is the way I remember republicans communicating when I did respect them. They knew how to wheel and deal to get things done. They were the businessmen of politics and I had no problem voting for a republican in order to keep the political balance in the house and senate. Now, I dont think I want them around anymore, they are not adding any value to us anymore.
