Well, the first reviews I've seen haven't been that great. The worst, as I would expect, came from the sci-fi and fantasy fanboy site AintItCool.

We do not battle against flesh and blood!

I agree that things are not always what they seem. I also agree that quite often things are exactly how they seem.
Why is it that we are so frequently able to compromise on things that clearly reflect the opposite of God’s nature and goodness? The drive for instant gratification and entertainment and not wanting to ‘rock the boat’ and ‘keep the peace’ often overcomes our desire to seek after what is good and acceptable in the sight of God.

Ephesians 6:11-12 (NKJ) 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the enemy 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 6:11 speaks about the ‘wiles’ of the enemy. Wiles or schemes, snares, deceptions, traps, etc.
Satan will stop at nothing to suck us in, laying his traps along the way - especially through entertainment mediums, making inherently bad things seem acceptable, spinning them to look cool, feel good and appeal to all our earthly senses.

Ephesians 6:12 speaks about our true fight being a spiritual fight against rulers of darkness (sounds much like a vampire to me!), against spiritual hosts of wickedness or unseen wickedness.

Proverbs 14:27 The fear of the Lord is the fountain of life, to turn away the snares of death.

The ever important fear of the Lord! Why is fear of the Lord important? Because it causes us to obey Him even when we don’t understand what’s going on around us.
Have you ever leaned back towards your kids in the back seat of your car and sternly commanded them to “put on your seatbelts.” They may not feel loved at that time but it just may save their life! That is what God is telling us here with this Proverb: Obey Me, it will save your life by escaping Satan’s unseen traps (snares).
Snares or unseen traps are Satan’s specialties. Music, movies, video games, the subtle words, making ‘dark’ things mainstream and increasing graphic violence continue to desensitize us and our children.

Isn't this vampire stuff symbology of satan?

Yes. My wife and I had to get pentagram tattoos and listen to KISS songs backwards while burning black candles in order to get tickets.

Anyway, I can't say I really enjoy the new turn vampire lore has taken with angst filled, emotionally confused, piano playing pretty boys who sparkle in the sunshine and never get split ends.

I like my vampires the way they are supposed to be: mean, nasty, bloodthirsty predators of the night who think the best way to a girl's heart is through her esophagus.

Real vampires like this: http://www.imdb.com/media/rm902535424/tt0120877

Soooo.... yes, I'm going to see the movie, but only because it was a condition of her seeing Zombieland with me on our anniversary... At least I will always have Zombieland.

Yes, you will have Zombieland, Manimal. That was a great movie. Another good one for Jesse Eisenberg. Now on to this one.

Better than the last one, better than the book. Still horrible. It was filmed well, aside from the awful make-up on Mike and the inappropriately played Thom Yorke song while chasing Victoria. Note to Hollywood: Digital exposes every flaw in the make-up. So, turning a slightly chubby 20-something into Barry Manilow is not a good idea.

This will be the very last time I go to a midnight showing of this junk. I cannot listen to these whiny teens talk about their emotions for two hours anymore. And Kristen Stewart's horrific acting. She acts with her hair, mumbles a few terrible lines, and looks glum through the entire thing. It's irritating. Worked for her in Adventureland, but this is not Adventureland.
