Well I didn't finish reading the Madline Engle book because I've read it before and I wanted to read Dawns Light by Terry Blackstock.
I finished it... and its one of those sad but happy endings.
Now I'm reading Scarlet by Stephen R. Lawhead. Yea finally.

Scarlet was a really good read. I thought Tuck was even better.
I just started "Grail", book 5 of Stephen Lawhead's Pendragon series.

Depends upon which movie you are referring to. If you mean the Kiera Knightley film, yes. There are a number of differences (though I cannot catalogue them, as I didn't pay much attention to it when I watched it).
If you mean the BBC, Colin Firth version, then the differences, while still present, are quite minimal.
I highly recommend the BBC version over the Hollywood-esque version.
I was referring to the one with Kiera Knightley. I have never heard of the BBC that you were talking about.

I usually read 3 to 4 at a time. Right now: "The Torah Blessing" by Larry Huch, "Trojan Church" by Dr. Gergory Reid, "Thou Shall Prosper" by Rabbi Daniel Lapin, and "Arguing With Idiots" by Glenn Beck. Quite a collection... I have ordered some books by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach which will be great for counseling.

Sorry just getting back..Almost forgot I even posted on this string.
I wish it were that simple that it could be explained so easily. I also choked on the concept at first because I was raised in a very legalistic church. You really should read the entire book. Keep your Bible close at hand and test everything that he says in light of scripture. The gospel is a simple message. I had complicated it almost beyond understanding mostly due to my graceless past. I think my journey to freedom began with "The Grip of Grace" (Max Lucado) This book (Naked Gospel) completed my journey and set me free from the grip of law and placed me in the grip of grace. But, by no means does he advocate it as a license to sin.

These two are my newest acquisitions:
The Year of Living Like Jesus: My Journey of Discovering What Jesus Would Really Do, by Ed Dobson. Bought it yesterday, and can't put it down. Almost finished it. Very, very thought-provoking.
And ...
The Apostolic Fathers, a Moody Classic. It's a modern translation of the books of 1 and 2 Clement, Letters of Ignatius, Letter of Polycarp to the Philippians, The Martyrdom of Polycarp, Didache, and The Pastor of Hermas.
