Wanna see a CUTE SHOW? That's my grandson. The pastor really does call on him to lead in prayer occasionally. He's got some moves! Must have gotten that from his Papa.

And I would be remiss if I did not include his sister's FIRST SOLO as well.

I just love having grandkids!!!

They are very cute, Mona. And you can play with them and send them home.

If you don't mind me asking, and I don't mean to offend, but does your church worship televisions? Or perhaps offer them as sacrifices?

Or maybe they are part of communion? I just ask because there was one on the altar with "This Do In Remembrance Of Me" written under it.

Worshp televisions? How funny until you realize most homes have more than one and they even use them to babysit the kids.

As much as I'd like to say it was being burned on the altar (though didn't God require a sacrifice without blemish?????), it was there because they showed A Man Called Norman that evening. It's from the 80's. Great testimony. Sunday nights are casual at their church. Ours too, really, though Ted usually preaches. I don't think we've ever watched a movie at our church. It's very rare that we have an all music night, even. Don't know why.

As y'all know, this has been Italian week in the Cranky household. We've enjoyed Chicken Cacciatore and meatball soup. The soup was so good, and there was so much of it, we ate it for two nights. Last night we had a homemade chicken Caesar salad. I can call that Italian because Mr. Cardini, the man who invented Caesar Salad, was part Italian.

However, it would definitely be a stretch to claim tonight's dinner as Italian: Shrimp Creole! Yum!

All I have is brown rice, so I hope it will be good on brown rice.

I was pleasantly surprised that upon my return from a full week of eating "vacation" food that I had not gained any weight, In fact I lost a pound. Mrs. K also held her own.

I think I gained a few pounds last week.

Get this--this morning I went to Bible study, and somehow the topic of age came up, and as everyone told how old they were it became clear that I was the oldest one there.

Well....yeah, sure! Ha...my pastor is 17!

Seriously, you know you are getting old when the new drivers on the road look 10 and when your pastor is younger than you, and when you are wondering if your doctor has graduated from high school.

And probably the loveliest, most talented, and most knowledgeable of the Bible.

If you want to be the youngest in the crowd, go to a southern gospel concert.

If you check out my review of the Coasters, Drifters, and Platters in the "recently attended concerts thread", you will see that, with over 2,000 in attendance, only about 40 were younger than me. But they were rockin".

Yeah, but how hard was that to achieve?

Cranky, your Italian week sounds like it was yummy!

I had nothing to do with this recognition of your advanced age, Mr. Kerrlaw.

Sharon-Marie, it was yummy! I should have mailed some to you.

This evening I took a meal to a family in our church. Instead of picking something that I know I like, I tried to pick something that I knew their four little kiddos might like--homemade mac and cheese with ham. But, I really dislike mac and cheese. To me, it tasted very badly, but I let my son taste it and he said it was very yummy. I made the same batch for at home for my family which they will eat in a few minutes. I will be eating a salad.

Say a prayer for this family. They lost their five month old daughter this week--the funeral is Thursday. It's very sad.

The piggies made me lose a couple pounds (I don't need to lose weight), but I had pork today to get back at those piggies. Bad piggies!!!

I've been missing her here in these threads quite a bit lately.

If you ban yourself, does that mean you have to ask yourself for dispensation to become unbanned?

I clicked on her name and it said such a person does not exist. I'm sure she'll be interested to know about this, so she can stop paying bills for the Kath who doesn't exist.

LOL!

I clicked on my name earlier; and it said the same thing . . . that I do not exist.

So, the scary part is all this time y'all have been talking to someone who doesn't exist. The even scarier part is that for well over 4 decades I have been thinking that I actually existed!

Does this mean that Kath and I are simply figments of y'all's imaginations?

Well . . . on a different note

Counsellor, my calendar tells me you'll be having some more tests tomorrow. You've been in my prayers and I'll be sure to pray for you tomorrow, as well.

When will you know the results?

How have you been feeling lately?
