Father, I pray that all will go well with Sparkle's mother, and please let this surgery end the infection. Help her, Lord, to heal well and quickly. Make her pain manageable and remove fear and anxiety completely. Lift up Sparkle and give her encouragement and strength to get through all of this. Thank You for the family members who have shared updates with us. Keep the entire family under Your Mighty Protection and in Your most loving care. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

ORIGINAL: sastlm This is sparkleingsnow's daughter. She asked me to thank everyone for their prayers and to post an update on my Grandmother, she is not doing well. Scheduled for amputation above the knee tomorrow afternoon. The Dr. hopes this will stop the spread of the infection. We don't know much more than that, but will write more when we know more. Again, thank you to everyone for praying for my Mom and Grandma. quote:

I pray that You will surround Sparkle's mother with Your Perfect Peace regarding the decision she made not to have surgery. If it is Your Will for her to have this surgery, then please move her to say yes. Lord, of course we all pray for her to be completely healed if it is Your Will. Please relieve her pain and remove her fear. Bring compassionate and loving medical caregivers into her life through hospice. Surround her with Your love and that of her family and hold her safe under Your protection. Give Sparkle strength and courage to deal with what is ahead. Carry her through all of this and let her know You are there every minute and every step of the way. Help her to feel our prayers reaching up to You and being answered in ways we don't even know to ask for. Comfort her, Lord, protect her, and hold her close to Your Heart. Be with the whole family during this time and if possible, Lord, bring Sparkle's mom to good health again so that all of the glory and honor will be Yours. May Your Will be done in all of this. I pray in Jesus' Holy and Precious Name, Amen.

Thank you all so much for your prayers. My sister printed some out and brought them over to the hospital, and I can't tell you what a comfort they were to me and also my family. We're back home. They wanted to send mom home in an ambulance (we live 100 miles away from the hospital she was in), but she wanted to come home in the van so thats what we did. She smiled at familiar landmarks as we got close to home. We had got all the way down to the surgery holding area when she changed her mind. She knew that there was only two choices, that the wound and infection would most likely not heal without the surgery. But either way we want to respect her wishes about this. She will be getting IV antibiotics through a pick line at home. There isn't much heal left and even a hole in the bone and she will be getting dressing changes for that and pain meds of course. But she is home where she wants to be. The Lord has held us close through all this day by day and at times minute by minute. Many tears of course, and even when I think I'm calm they are just under the surface and it doesn't take much for them to start rolling out. It's so hard to see someone we love suffer and only be able to do so much to help, but the Lord is good and although we don't understand why someone has to suffer we know that the Lord has a purpose and one day we will understand. 1Co 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And we can trust the He will work it to the good. We can't know what the Lord is doing in the heart and mind of someone who is slowly dying and struggles just to get a word or two out at a time, and sometimes not even that, or in the hearts of those around them. But He promises that all things work to the good. It's a long (or short) road ahead that is hard to walk, but He is there, helping us, encouraging us, strengthing us, and most of all loving us, and we can take comfort in His promises. I praise You Lord for all You are and all You do, and I love You so. Hold us close dear Lord and I thank You for all You do known and unknown. Amen Sorry for such a long post, but I wanted to let you know where we were at in this walk and thank you again for your love and suppport and most precious prayers.

((((((Sparkle)))))) Oh my dear sister, my heart hurts for you and your mom and family. You will be in my constant prayers whether I am on this forum or not. Our Father will see you through all that is ahead. Father, I thank You for Sparkle and her faithfulness in caring for her mom. Give her strength and wisdom to help her get through the days and weeks ahead. Lord, let her feel Your presence and give her Your Perfect Peace even in the midst of these difficult times. Hold her close to Your heart and make provision for all that is needed. Lord, I pray that Your Will is done in Sparkle's mother's life. Remove her pain and anxiety and help her get through what is ahead. If it is Your Will, I pray that You will heal her. Be with her every step of the way and let her feel Your Love all around her. I pray that You will bring the family together and let them have meaningful loving time with her. Help there be unity in the decisions that are made, give wisdom and extra skill to the medical professionals who are to treat her, and I pray that You will draw everyone in this family close to You. Protect Sparkle, her mom, and the whole family, and hold them in Your most loving and tender care. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Father, what a shining example of faith we see in this family as they honor their mother's wishes and put her health in your hands. I pray you will keep them uplifted as they go through this with the mother. I pray for Sparkle's health as she ministers to her mother. Hold this dear and faithful servant close. Thank you Father.

Just wanted to update. Mom's wound is really big and looked worse when I did her dressing change yesterday and it looks like both sides of the ankle is geting more and more involved and just ready to brake down also. but she does seem a bit stronger after getting home, even trying to help feed herself. Also I wanted to share something. On the way home frome the hospital as we started getting closer to home, I asked the Lord if we could see an elk on the way, just as a sign that we were doing the right thing and for encouragment, but only if it was His will of course. We didn't see an elk. Then last night when I had got up to check on mom, I heard an elk bugle and took a flashlight and looked outside and just across the road almost even with the house stood a big beautful elk. I don't know of course but I want to believe it was there as a sign of reassurance. It's been some time since I've see the elk. Thank You Lord that You are always in control. Thank You for this comfort and reassurance. Thank You that You are always there, and that You care so much. Please continue to help mom and each of us, and may Your will be done. In Jesus name. Amen

Sparkle, I believe that was a sign from God. Honoring our parents' wishes, I believe, is blessed by Him who loves us so much. He is kind and loving to you and He will see you through all of this and be with you every step of the way. Father, Thank You for Sparkle, and I know that You will give her what she needs exactly when she needs it. You will never forsake us or leave us to our own devices when we so eagerly ask You for help. I trust in You to do all of the best things for Sparkle's little mom and know the angels will carry her to her eternal place that was set out for her before the foundation of the world was laid. The timing of this is, of course, known only by You. I continue to ask for healing if it is possible and for her pain to be relieved. Lord, please be merciful. May Your will be done. In Jesus' name, Amen.
