I don't know, Bob can get pretty huffy too depending on who he is dealing with. And, reality is that Jillian has a lot more winners under her belt than Bob does.

I guess it depends on the person. I know Jillian wouldn't motivate me, if she was my trainer.

She would make me mad and usually if I'm mad I usually go at things pretty hard.

Not only do Jillian's trainees usually win, she also seems very bonded to them. The yelling in the gym is a very very small part of what they are doing everyday.

The biggest issue I have with Jillian is that she cusses at people. I realize she is trying to motivate people but to me her foul langauge is disrespectful. If I wanted that kind of work out I would join the military and head for boot camp.

I read an article updating on previous winners. Many of the winners are all on the lecture circuit and several continue to battle losing weight regained. One described the extremes he went through to win at the final. Totally not healthy.

Past Biggest Losers: Where are they now?

I do agree with you on the language.

Past Biggest Losers: Where are they now?

I actually find these outcomes to be more positive than negative.

I totally agree Stella!!!!! For the most part, most of them have done a great job. The dude who won the first season lost the weight the wrong and unhealthy way. So of course he could not keep up that lifestyle. He was NOT taught that on the show!

As to this season, I really kinda like Bob and Jillian working together. I think it is actually going to be better for the contestants long term to learn from both.

Something about these methods bother me. Are the weeks real weeks, or are they several weeks and we just see it edited together? If it's one week, I don't think people need to be losing that much weight at once. If someone loses 20lbs, I expect that to be over at least two months' time...maybe a month at the minimum. I also read that they do build up endurance, but I don't see how that would happen in such a short period of time. I know how long the show runs, but if they do build endurance, then they have to be there for a while before all this stuff that we see starts happening. I think sometimes they may begin things that contestants can't keep lifelong. I tried searching for methods, but I can't find anything on their websites.

The thing is, it is all under doctor's supervision. Everyone is a professional. I had a friend who was very overweight, but not really heavy enough for the show. Her doctor told her that losing a lot of weight at one time is not a great idea. However, it is better on the body than keeping all that weight on there.

They teach workouts that maximize your time. They teach proper eating habits, portions, kinds of foods. What someone chooses to do when they leave is up to them.

The method is taking in 1200 calories a day and burning 6000. That's why week one is typically so dramatic in one direction and week two is typically so dramatic in the other direction. The show is done in real weeks.

They basically jump start people into a new lifestyle, but I know that some of the contestants "cheat" to win the money. IOW, I don't think they mean for someone to lose 20 pounds in a week. I think the contestants figure ways to do that or to manipulate their weight at weigh-in because they want to win the cash. The ones who seem to be most successful post-show are the ones who have psychological breakthroughs during the season. It's as much about getting to that lightbulb moment as it is learning to eat better and exercise. Everyone knows you have to do that to stay fit, but not everyone gets it in their own lives. KWIM?

Oh, I agree. Most of the past contestants have done a remarkable job staying on the right track. Most seems like they've found new careers too. So cool! I just hated reading where the winner of season 1 went to such extremes just to show up at the final and win. I think he gained back a bit just after it.

I can't imagine being on a 1200 calorie diet a day (ok, I can do that) but then having to burn 6000 per day. These people are so unfit that I can't imagine going from probably a very sedentary lifestyle to one so active. Yes, I know they have doctors watching and standing by but it does seem quite extreme. I just hope they are not pushing these people for such dramatic results just to gain ratings.

Yes, but when you weigh that much, you burn calories faster. For example, a person that weighs 150 lbs. will burn about 600 calories in an hour of cycling. A person that weighs 350 lbs. will burn closer to 1400. So while their bodies are in total shock, they're not as in shock as a lighter-weight, but sedentary, person would be.

Remember how we all hated Vicki? Well...Tracey is worse.

She basically played the game very well. She's quite underhanded and she flat out lied to two groups. But the red team is so awesome! They sacrificed themselves so that Shay could stay there. (The heaviest one.)

Get out!!!!! I really liked her at first. Ack!

But wow! The team who was eliminated seem to have done really well at home though.

Tonight's show was emotional and I changed the way I feel about Tracey. I feel bad for Mo. However, both members of the team that was eliminated have inspiring stories and have been able to touch others.

If I had to pick any team to go home (besides for purple), I would have picked pink. They don't seem to be making much progress on the ranch.

That is cool that red is doing so well at home. I hope they continue.

Who would have thought that was possible. I so wanted Tracey to lose nothing or gain!!!! I agree with the girl that told her to quit pretending and accept responsibility. I loved Jillian telling Mo to watch out for himself because Tracey would not watch out him.

Ugh! I can't wait for NBC to release the episode online so I can see all the drama I missed. I only caught the last 45 minutes or so.

The editing of her facial expressions really makes her look looney...love some of those shots where her eyes just look crazy.
