The OP has been pretty quite lately.

Has anyone started an anti-Thanksgiving thread?

I'm propsoing a new holiday between Thanksgiving and Christmas: Thanksmas.

We can have a Thanksmas tree, decorated with turkey lights and ornaments in the shape of Pilgrims and Indians.

NO TREES!

Can't we just set bushes on fire?

Oh, a burning bush how Old Testament.

Actually, I was thinking about starting a thread on the history of Thanksgiving and the how christians have christianized that too, but ..... that's not being very thankful now is it.

I like that.
A new product to make money.
Buy your own "burning bush" for the holidays.
And as a bonus, jewelry with the TEN WORDS.

A friend once gave me a talking Ten Commandments Clock ... every hour it would say something like "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery." Of course, I NEVER knew what time it was because while there are, indeed, ten commandments, there are 12 hours in a day. OOPS. The silly thing? It took me a week or so to figure out WHY that silly clock just "looked wrong."

What time is it?

It's a quarter past Thou Shalt Not Covet thy Neighbor's Wife.

i thought it was the ten suggestions?

I prefer to have my Thanksgiving untarnished by Christmas. I do like Christmas but I like Thanksgiving more. I think the marketing department at Old Navy stores should be shot. Open on Turkey day...please

Yes...many are trying to lure in the black friday shoppers early. I think a lot of retail stores will be out of business after this holiday season.

Yup. I definitely hope people avoid buying and giving gift cards for that reason.

Interesting post Lapi. Falling asleep watching football and leaving the wife to clean up by herself is sinful but not necessarily pagan.

LOL.

I don't fall asleep watching football since
I don't watch football. lol.

I take the wife out for dinner or cook it myself.
Whish, whish, into the dishwasher, and hmmm.

Or we just nibble all day on finger stuff.
This year we will have Thurs/Fri off but won't
know what to do with ourselves. Kids are going
off to Iowa to the other half.
