Mine are The Thin Red Line, God's and Generals and Ishtar, with an honorable mention to the first truly awful movie I ever saw, as a teenager in the 70's, called "Food Of The Gods" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074540/

Battlefield Earth. Wow, that was atrocious. You know a movie is bad when the best thing the critics can say about it is "has interesting scene transitions".

I'm not sure. If a movie is that bad, it's usually so bad that it's funny. Steven Seagal and the Sci-Fi Channel make aweful movies, but they're hysterical. The only ones I can think of that are just bad are stupid kids movies like Air Bud, or Agent Cody Banks. -Dan.

ORIGINAL: sunshine4God Napolean Dynomite ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ To each his (or her) own, I guess. Yeah, I thought it was slow at times, but I thought it was truly hilarious. That scene where the farmer shot his cow in the head when the kids were riding by in the schoolbus is one of the funniest scenes ever put in a movie, IMO. The worst movie I can recall ever having sat through in a movie theater would have to "King Ralph" starring John Goodman. Thankfully it was in a supersaver theater. I would have been very upset if I had paid full price for that. The worst movie I have ever sat through at home will never stop making me feel like I had been violated, though it has been over two decades since I experienced the visual purgatory. You would know what I was talking about if you had ever seen "Howard the Duck" yourself. Now I am depressed for having thought about it. Irredeemable, that's what that movie is...

Even if I'm sitting through a complete dog (no pun intended, sort of hinted at one of the ones I'll mention), I'll at least manage to find something funny or interesting enough about it to keep from flipping the channel. Here are the stinkers I sat through: Carman's "The Champion": I don't care if you're a big Carman fan like me, DO NOT sit through this turkey. Life is Ruff (2005 Disney Channel movie; not exactly a home for Citizen Kane-like material, but worse than usual for them) One Night with the King: Just One Night with the King. And I thought the Carman movie was bad...this flick was beyond awful. Will add more when I think of them...

Oh boy. Here we go! Marley and Me - it was a slew of deadbeat acting and a shoddy storyline (spent more time listening to Owen talk to people about work than watching the dog tear things up. It was a real snooze-fest). To be honest . . I never liked the dog. Shouldn't the animal star in a movie be liked? I didn't find it to be redeemable. Also, the relationship between Owen and the dog felt poor. I don't just mean in the script sense, there just seemed to be no genuine chemistry between the actors. It's run-of-the-mill story about a dog with four brain cells and a steel stomach. It's like Beethoved meets Turner and Hootch, only with dull humans playing their roles of the owners, whose entire emotional construct rests upon the behavior of a mutt. Seriously, this movie was My Dog Skip for people going through a mid-life crisis. Random bits of romance and sex glued together in no particular fashion. What angle would this movie NOT take to try and make you stir up all the whiniest emotions possible? Giving up of careers, choosing to have the dog, marital problems . . .oh, how about a miscarriage? And then a dog's death? Is that enough overkill? Are you crying yet, you saps? In the words of Bill Gibron: "Instead of being uplifting and heartwarming, this excruciating effort is 90 minutes of mediocrity followed by 10 minutes of the most manipulative, mean-spirited pap ever put into a movie made for families." Maybe the movie would have been better if it spent more time with Marley chewing on couches and eating the floor, and less time with Owen yakking with someone far less interesting than the dog.... Read More Not enough Marley, too much "me." I would have left the movie, but my parents took me with them, so I was stuck. </rant>

Thin Red Line definintely. There was that Silence of the Lambs sequal I think it was shot in Rome, cause that was the only interesting thing the scenery. It was beyond boring and gross besides. I so wanted to walk out. And yes, the sci-fi channel movies are pretty bad.

All That Jazz. My wife and I thought we were going to see a film on how they do a Broadway musical, based on the previews. Uh, no. We did get to see Roy Scheider doing every drug under the sun, perversity of all stripes and persuasions, and Ben Vereen as Mister Death (in a suit with veins painted on it!) dancing around an operating table while Roy's character was undergoing open heart surgery. "It's showtime!!" was the movie's tagline. No. It wasn't, and we want those two lost hours of our lives back, thankyouverymuch.

The Apostle with Robert Duvall. That is the only movie my husband and I have ever walked out of in a theater. We decided it was definitely time to go when we found ourselves rooting for the church to be demolished. The friends we were with toughed it out but ended up asking for a refund on the tickets because they also found it to be incredibly awful.

Phantasm. The only reason we sat through it was because one guy refused to leave simply because he paid to see it.

Tristan + Isolde (come on, it's a sleazy porno without actual nudity, NOT the "original" Romeo+Juliet as the video box suggests...and we had to watch this for English class! Only good part was the beginning where everybody was killing each other ) Dark Matter (Starts out boring...then it's slow and painfully hard to watch..then it's just...well...I can't believe how dumb the writer - and the rest of the crew - had to be to write that ending. I mean, come on! I usually think people are exaggerating when they say things like "I want my two hours back!"..but in this case...that kinda actually fits) Edit: King of the Lost World (2005) War of the Worlds (2005 - not the Tom Cruise one, not the straight-from-the-book 3 hours one, the OTHER one) I often enjoy movies on the SciFi channel but these were just pathetic.

A Kurdish movie called "Turtles Can Fly". *Shudders* It was HORRIBLE!!!! It still disturbs me to even think about it!!! Other than that, the worst I've sat through are: The Pirates Of The Caribbean The Princess Bride (I didn't really watch all of it. But I did sit through it. I was talking to my friend over AIM while my youth group watched it) The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe

I watched "Megashark versus Giant Octopus" this weekend. The only words I could use to adequately describe it would violate TOS and get me in trouble. So I will say this. I have seen a lot of bad movies where those who made them didn't have the budget to pull off what they attempted. I can honestly say that not only did the people who made this movie not care, but they probably thought that nobody who did care would notice.
