I'm wishing that we could swap temperatures already. Today was 99F, and I already wish it would be the start of winter again. It's way too hot out there!

I've got to get going in a moment. We have a visitor coming over soon. Ladies group is this afternoon at our house too.

I've started a community Christmas card exchange if anybody's interested in joining.

See and taste that the tomato is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! Yum! We had a tomato tasting ceremony. A bit silly I know, but it's the first thing I've ever grown! Gotta do something to celebrate!

Since y'all are upside-down, our seasons are opposite. While we're in the fall here, Aussies are in springtime.

Today is October 28th. Six months away would be April 28th. Up here in Michigan, home-grown tomatoes would not be ripe until about August. So you are a good three months ahead of our growing season.

I don't think our plants know what's going on with growing seasons. Everything is so out of whack that they just show up when they think they're supposed to, whether it's the right time or not. The fruit trees are fruiting at the wrong times. Bulbs are flowering at the wrong times. It's just crazy!

At least I know that the silverbeet that I planted, (like spinach), grows year round, so I don't have to worry that it's not supposed to be giving of itself at the wrong time.

I've never had silverbeet. Spinach is good though. Hated it when I was a kid, but now I like it.

I absolutely hated silverbeet as a kid. My mother would make me sit there for hours until I ate it. There was no dog to feed it to either.

It was green beans for me. Dad got mad at me because I wouldn't eat my green beans and hit me. I fell back onto the radiator and hit my head and needed stitches. Dad wasn't patient enough to sit for hours.

Somebody tried to feed me butter beans once. Or was it broad beans? Big, greyish-green things. I remember them not being so tasty either. I'm usually pretty good at eating my vegies though. In recent years, I've had problems with not knowing what I can and can't eat, but hopefully that will change. I can eat one thing one meal, and the next, it makes me sick. The joys of haviing fibromyalgia and also from having gastric surgery. I was fine before all of that. Now I drive everybody up the wall because I have no idea what's going to happen from one meal to the next.

Next time next week, my brothers will be here in Perth. I'm rather nervous about the whole thing.

15 years ago, when I was last in New Zealand. They are 8 & 9 years older than me. They are very close to each other. Are married with kids, and in the case of my oldest brother, grandkids. Other than the same parents, it'll be like meeting strangers. I've met 2 of my nephews and one niece. The other wasn't born when I was in New Zealand. As for grandkids, I couldn't tell you who was who. I don't even know my niece and nephew's partners names! It's bad.

And don't let the situation make you feel awkward. Just let it go, relax and enjoy the visit.

Life's too short to worry about things.

I hope you have a wonderful, memorable time with your family. I would probally be a bit nervous also.
Speaking of tomatoes, have you ever ate fried green tomatoes? It's a big thing here in the south.
I noticed you have not posted in the fibro forum. Hope you are feeling better every day.

I've asked my brothers for names and photos. My oldest brother is trying to be helpful. He's emailed me some photos, but of course, I can't see them. I've told him that I'll have to wait until I can use another computer, one that will actually let me see photos. I've just combined them all into a folder so I can just look at them all in one go. That is in case my email account gets hacked again like it did last weekend. I'm still not happy about that. Can you tell?

Is it just me, or are other people getting lots of runtime errors. I've been having a lot of them the last few days.

It's just after midnight here, which makes it officially November. That's scary! That means that Christmas is next month! Ok, where did the rest of the year go?

Most definitely.

Wow, it's not even lunchtime yet and I'm ready for bed.

My brothers have been nice and put a heap of photos onto some discs for me. Now I just have to remember who's who. My brothers and sister in laws I don't have a problem with. My nephew I don't have a problem with. I don't recognise my niece. I've got a general idea of birth order of the kids, but I still have problems telling who's who out of the kids. We've got our women's group on Monday. They'll be wanting me to tell them who's who. This should be interesting!
