Mike, hope your interview went well.

((((ds)))) Pretty rough out there isn't it? This lady I used to work with couldn't find a job for the longest time so she just decided to start collecting her ss. The amount would have been close to what she was making before. Not to say you can do this. You are probably much younger than she is. But that's what she decided to do.

Speaking of jobs, I'm going to call a company today and inquire with them. They are opening a new retirement community and I'm curious. I like my current job and when business is good, the money is pretty decent. Very blessed there. But if I am going to study for my license, I may as well see what's out there in my field. We'll see. G-d willing. It needs to be something I would enjoy, is flexible, and that pays enough.

Hello islanders. Don't you need to warm up a little? lol

I'm off again today but have a meeting in the morning. Thing is that I have very little input to what they are asking. I won't have a car after that so I will be home, home, home. Kinda hoped I could go to Waikiki today. Maybe I'll catch the bus.

Hey Trishy...

I'll take some warmer weather. I just ordered my winter coat...it should get here in a few days. One of my local friends asked me if I've ever owned a winter coat before. I replied "Yep...when I was a small child". lol

Hmmm, I was kinda hoping I coud go to Waikiki today too... darn, doesn't look like it though.

I always put off getting my winter coat out for as long as I possibly can - but this morning was only 28* , I don't think I can put it off for much longer. Come to think of it I think it was actually only 21* today, yesterday was 28*... Arrgghhh. Too soon!

I have to clean my Uggs!

No one is wearing them yet but I am always cold! That's why I bought them.

Of course now they are going out of style according to one website but I don't care.

Me, the trend killer.

I live in denial about needed a winter coat. Since I spent about .1 minutes outside per day when I have a choice, I just decide to be cold between the house and car or the car and work. And I told my husband he has to get the dog at night until he installs a dog tie-up closer to the door.

It's time to get my winter coat from the back of my closet. Sleet mixed in with the rain in some parts of our area yesterday. It's raining and in the 40's this afternoon, and the forecast calls for more of the same through Sunday.

Considering it was 73 degrees on Tuesday, this is quite a shock to the system.

I've never owned a winter coat. lol That's the interesting thing about the mainland. How it can be warm one day and freezing the next.

Since I've had to w*** the past few weekends, it doesn't feel like a Friday to me. I'm so used to having Saturdays off and coming back from vacay on a Thursday confuses things. My schedule will return back to normal next week so hooray!

Our next big vacay will most likely be Japan. But who know when. After that I would love to go to Singapore.

Would you believe I've never left the Eastern Time Zone?

I've traveled plenty within it, at least from North Carolina to Maine, but I've never left it. Nor have I ever crossed a national border.

One time when I did the March of Dimes Walkathon the temp at my house "up over the hill" was in the 80's, and along the lake shoe/walk area was about 62*!! I left wearing shorts and a tank top and just about froze to death before we were done!

I live in northern MN, Lake Superior is our 'natural air conditioner', lol.

Not uncommon to have quite different temps from near the lake and over the hill, but 20 some degrees difference was a bit bigger than usual.

We live about half a block from Lake Erie and we get similar moderations in temperatures because of the lake. In the spring it can be as much as 20 degrees warmer inland. And in the fall it's often warmer and sometimes foggy near the lake.

The mainland gets some much interesting weather because we are not right near the ocean to regulate us. We get our weather based on what comes off the ocean and then how a storm might warp as it passes over mountains and other things.

Earlier this week northern CA and NV got a TON of rain left over from a typhoon from Japan.

One place near the ocean I find interesting is Monterey Bay. I think it is always freezing there. I have been both for Labor Day and for New Years and both days were equally as cold.

Happy Sunday everyone? Anything interesting happen at church or elsewhere today? At da job right now but I usually take it easy on Sundays. Besides most of the things that need to be done are done on Saturdays. So not too much to do in terms of upkeeping the store.

I think John goes to the Food and New Product Show today. Hope he brings back some goodies.

John ended up not going because his co-worker said it wasn't as good this year. Oh well. Maybe it will be better next year.

Happy Monday island peeps! How was your weekend? Not much went on for me. I plan to try making these pumpkin biscuits this week and for me, I'm indulging in myself... a turkey, apple and brie grilled sandwich. lol

QOD: Where would you like to take your next vacation?

Either London to see the last Harry Potter movie, or to Idaho to visit my girlfriend and her family.
