You know, for about 5 minutes I was able to get into and out of my PM box and get to my subscribed threads without having to leave the site every time I tried to do something and come back and try again.

It was a really beautiful thing.

Five minutes of it wasn't nearly long enough.

Pam, I can't remember if you took Toby back to the vet's last Monday or if it's this coming Monday. I've been thinking about you and Toby and wondering how you were doing.

Good Evening all of you Denizens!

hi all...just checking in to let you all know i'm alive.

i've been sick for a few days and haven't been online at all really, but wanted to pop in and give you all hugs and smoochies...

sisterly smoochies only for the men

Now are you wearing lipstick? In all seriousness I hope that you are feeling better Crankius!

An old pastor had the habit of saying "Greet one another with a holy kiss! Men kiss the men, women kiss the women!" but nobody did. Only handshakes.

Greet one another with a holy handshake or an "I'm Not Gay" half hug instead.

Some stuff is just so stupid. The call center for inquiries regarding California tourism is located in Missouri.

Must be cheaper that way. Maybe that is why they got so offended when I called SF Visitors Bureau and asked them a certain shocking question one time.

I try to ban myself from the whole theo section but I keep coming back. One member in particular drives me nuts. I find myself in agreement for a day or so and, then, something pops up that is completely alien and I want to smack the person. But the thing that bugs me most is to encounter that member snidely attributing evil intent in my interpretation of scripture. Just because I disagree doesn't automatically make me the spawn of Satan and purveyor of pernicious doctrine.

Some threads used to get me really upset, but now I just visualize whirled peas instead.

Good Morning, Denizens!

Lessee....it's Friday - yay!

GC has a date tonight. Why didn't I make the rule "No Dating Until You're 18"????????

Maybe that rule should be no dating until you're 35 instead.

Actually, it was yesterday. His sutures were taken out, and the vet told me to watch the area carefully and get in there PRONTO if I think there's any lump at all.

He's doing just fine, thanks.

Oh, I was completely off on the day then. But I am glad he's doing well. Thanks for the update!

Tell me about it. So far I've spent ten minutes trying to get this posted.

Sorry for the double post. It didn't post the first one right away and then I couldn't delete the second one. This is awful!

I know! I've called this site more nasty, TOSable names today than I care to admit. SO frustrating!

Arranged marriage ? That's my plan for my son. We've already picked out 2 very eligible young women for him.

Even if you manage that, they make a lot of noise there. You end up letting them out just to keep your sanity.

Oh the joys!

Toby's spirit is most definitely back this morning. He's chasing his stuffed hamburger around the house. He throws it up in the air, chases it, leaps on it, then throws it up in the air again ... and on and on. It's so fun to watch!

My morning started out terrible. I awoke with not only a headache, but a really stiff back, a pretty regular occurrence. But one thing I know - laying in bed doesn't help. So I got up, took care of Toby, took my medicine, and then got on the treadmill to walk my daily mile. I feel a little better, but the best thing is I don't feel defeated by my "aches" anymore. Now I feel like I can go on with my day.

I just need to rant. This "file too large" thing when I try to change my avatar is driving me nuts!

Thanks for listening.

I'm in the midst of a really huge photo project. Three years ago when we lost my father, we knew there were a lot of family photos in the house, but I don't think we really had any idea how many. I have about ten boxes of them. (I have "custody" of them.) And of course they're just in a hodgepodge right now, not exactly conducive to perusing and enjoying.

I've been mulling over how to organize them for some time. I finally found THIS, and I love it. I started a couple days ago sorting and filing. It's really slow going, but I'm having a marvelous time!

Hello? Is anybody out there? Yeah, I know it's Saturday. And most people have real lives.

I think I'd better stop posting here. I'm going to get slapped for spamming. Is that the right word?

Hey Pam! It's good to hear about Toby. Sorry about your headache and stiff back but I'm glad you feel better and aren't letting it get you down.

That cropper hopper is a cool tool! What a job you have! Aren't old photos fun, though?

I have to go to work, do some interviews and then an 'end of the season' football party later. Good grief. It seems like there IS no end to the season. I'll see y'all later.

Good Morning Lioness, do you have a real lot of applicants applying? Also, just curious (and you do not have to answer at all,) how do you weed out bad applicants?

Hi WWH2! Hi Humble!

Yes, I get a lot of applicants. It's just a process of elimination.

Those who can't work the hours I'm hiring for.

Those whose skills do not match what I need.

Those who don't bother to show up for the interview.

Those whose temperament and/or attitude will not allow them to work for me successfully, etc. I eventually get down to one or two who have not been eliminated.

It really is amazingly enjoyable. I'm finding things that I thought existed, and here they are!

I just found some photos of my stepfather's first wife. And his parents. I'm excited to give them to my sister (his daughter)!

Ok Lioness, that sounds very practical! I am just wondering why I have gone on so many interviews recently, but not been further considered (with the same company no less.)
