I have had vertigo for 10 months.
One doctor says it is an inner ear condition.
My oncologist says that because there is a strong family history on my Mom's side of brain tumors, that it could be a brain tumor. Both my Mom and maternal great-grandmother had brain tumors.
I have the MRI scan of my brain today---in 2-1/2 hours. I will take a low-dose Valium tablet to get through the claustrophobic panic I experience in an MRI scanner.
Whether it is or is not a brain tumor causing the ongoing vertigo, may God's will be done in my life.

praying to our Father, let all be well and within Your will for Pamela today. Help her, dear Lord to hold up in Your strength as she has this mri done. I pray for her as she waits for the results. I pray for an outcome that will be to Your glory. In Jesus' name I pray. Praising His name, Amen.

A friend from church took me to the hospital and dropped me off.
I went in, got registered, and made my way into the MRI scanner room with the technician when he called my name.
I saw a small cage-like device mounted on the sliding table, which I'd never seen before. The technician wanted me to put my head inside this little cage-like device prior to being encased in the scanner, for the 45 minute scan.
That was all it took---I was OUT OF THERE!
The technician said he recently had a patient have a heart attack inside the MRI scanner.
He suggested I try the "open" MRI in a certain city near here.
I may do that, or I may not. I am so disgusted with my cowardice!
Surprisingly, my friend was not angry or upset with me when she picked me up and I told her what had happened.

Perhaps the open mri would be a better option for you, Pamela. I know what you felt. I did not know I was claustrophobic UNTIL they attempted to do an mri. When my head was strapped in that thingy and they started the procedure, I panicked and told them to get me out.

Hello, everyone----thank you so much for your prayers and encouraging comments.
Today I go to Loma Linda University Medical Center for my CT simulation.
The technician will be setting up the radiation field, and literally tattooing permanent small blue dots in the areas to be radiated.
They are going to also radiate the supraclavicular area lymph nodes to kill off cancer cells which may have migrated there.
Please be in prayer.
God is excellent---so merciful and loving---caring for each of us, His little lambs.

Pamela, what great reports you got on the breast cancer! God is AWESOME!
Don't let the prognosis throw you. They base part of that on age, weight, health, etc. They don't know what a fighter you are!
About the inner ear stuff, I've had that almost my whole life. My father has Meniere's Disease (inner ear problems) and I'm sure I inherited it. So.... chemo can cause vertigo or worsen it. Just deal with it, right?
