diane----i enjoy your blog so much!
i saw my oncologist today. he wants me to receive an additional 8 months of Herceptin.
called my neurologist yesterday to see if anything can be done---or the cause determined---about the dizziness i have had since jan. '09. she has been my neurologist for 39 years! she wants me to see a neurologist out here---her office is 150 miles round-trip.
i told my oncologist about this, and my oncologist has ordered that i have an MRI scan of my brain.
i mentioned to him that my maternal great-grandmother and my Mom had died of brain tumors.
he said a brain tumor usually presents with more symptoms and added that "a brain tumor is possible."
i informed him that i get very anxious confined in a closed MRI scanner, so he will prescribe a low dose of valium to be taken half an hour before the scan.
(last time i had an MRI, i said to the tech---if there is an earthquake, be SURE to get me out of this machine!) he laughed.
he is a very good oncologist---knowledgeable, kind, caring and compassionate (cute, too!)
i praise our Lord for His loving, gentle care of EACH of us!

Father,
I lift up Pamela and ask that You make everything ahead of her be as quick and easy as it can be according to Your Will.
Thank You for her wise and skilled doctors who are also caring and compassionate. Help them to know exactly how to treat her
so that her cancer cells will be killed with as few side effects as possible.
I pray that she will find a top notch neurologist in her area that she likes, and I pray the outcome of the brain scan will be just
fine. Soothe Pamela while she is confined in the scanner. Give her Your Perfect Peace and send comfort and encouragement to her.
I ask these things in Jesus' name,

Hi Pamela. I have read your entire post and have laughed, cried, and prayed. You are an inspiration. You are truly blessed and favored by God. I pray that God continues to strengthen you physically and spiritually. That He will heal you of the cancer and from being dizzy. I pray that He continues to work on your behalf and bless you according to your needs. I ask that he bless each and every individual that has helped you, spent time with you, said a kind word to you, or even gave you a kind smile. God loves you so much and so do I.

Thank you---everyone---for your heartfelt, beautiful prayers.
I praise God, for He has gotten me all the way through to my last chemo on 9-1-09!
There is a problem with my port---it is backing up fluid into the tissue rather than sending it into an artery. The port may need to be surgically removed. I go to Radiology next week to determine the best course of action. God even got my port through until the end of treatment!

Father I praise you for keeping our dear one safe. I pray a brain tumor will NOT be found during the MRI. I pray for Pamela as she endures more surgery to be brought safely through it with as little pain as possible. Thank you Lord.

Pamela, you are such an inspiration to all of us here. I pray for you, sister, in the name of our Lord Jesus. Bless her Lord for her faithfulness. Use this diagnosis of cancer as a testimony to Your healing hands. Be her comfort and the anchor that holds and sustains her. Thank You Lord for seeing her through this. Praise report!
In chemo, the nurses could not get my port to work. The doctor ordered a fluoroscope with iodine contrast, and this test showed my port is working and I won't have to go through surgery to have it removed and replaced. The doctor said he thought the nurse had not put the needle in the port correctly.
My elbow and knee are healing from the fall I took. My entire leg is black-and-blue. There is less pain in my elbow.
On Thursday, Sept. 17 I see my surgeon. On that date, he will schedule me for modified radical mastectomy/mastectomy at a future date.
I would greatly appreciate your prayers.

thank you all for praying.
a friend took me to er last night. repeat x-rays of my left elbow revealed source of intense pain & inability to turn left hand palm-up----a fractured radius bone in elbow.
left arm put in "glass cast" splint and sling. left knee still severe pain, not re-x-rayed, told to keep elevated and limit walking/standing as much as possible.
will have ortho appt soon.
typing with one hand.
our God is excellent!!!! i praise Him for His gentle, shepherding love & care of each of us!!!!

Thank you, my brothers and sisters in Christ---for your beautiful prayers.
I saw my surgeon yesterday. My modified radical mastectomy/mastectomy is on Sept. 25. I'm to be at the hospital at 5:00 a.m. A friend from church is taking me.
I do not fear the surgery. God has given me a Christian surgeon. God will guide the surgeon's hands.
I praise God for His gentle tender care of each of us.
