I know someone who works at Linden, and from what he tells me, it sounds like it could develop into something interesting if it becomes this platform for third party development and other, more significant interactions (e.g. business meetings). But as it is now... um... no... -Dan.

I already built my character a few things. Not bad, on the prim thing. And, I looked at the script stuff. I wandered around a lot. But, I didn't find anything worth actually making the effort for. I was bored. I understand the interface just fine, it's the appeal I'm confused about.

Well people can dance at clubs and whatnot and be a DJ,and stream music to a club.

I've never had any desire to do that in real life. I dunno why I'd want to in a video game. No offense. It's just not my thing.

I truly have no idea. *shrug* I think it's mostly that it's so empty. I checked out a few of the RP areas, and the maybe half-dozen people wandering around were either AFK or in the middle of some sort of complex story line involving werewolf vampires posing as dragons. Or maybe it was dragons posing as werewolf vampires. Anyway, there wasn't anything to *do* if you didn't know anybody. I'm used to places where, if you're bored, you start killing stuff until someone comes along and says "wanna kill stuff together?" and then eventually you're dungeon crawling with 39 of your closest friends.

Then your probably going to the wrong areas, because sl is so vast. There are nightclubs in sl that are 24/7. AnthroXtacy is one club that is always hopping, another is a club called GYC. And plus too,SL allows user-created content and anything you create in it you own the copyright to,I checked out World of Warcraft but i didn't like it,there are no furries in WOW nor can i create stuff. Well this is how my avatar looks like in SL. http://i846.photobucket.com/albums/ab22/oakleaf2009/Snapshot_006-2.jpg

Nice tiger. I'm not saying that Second Life is bad or anything, I just personally find it boring. If you like it, great! But I spend enough time creating things in real life, whether coding, writing, knitting, sewing, cooking, or making tiny little beds for my two year olds' princess figurines at her insistence, and when I log on, I'd mostly just like to mindlessly kill stuff for a bit, whether it's unusually large rodents or exploding little colored bubbles in a facebook game. Though granted I also quit WoW quite a while ago due to lack of time. I've been unable to find any opportunities for mindless slaughter in SL. I guess because that's not the point. Not sure what the point is, really, but that's definitively not it. ;) There are furries in WoW, btw, if you don't mind being either a cow or a druid (or both, for that matter).
