My husband has been falsely accused of something for which he must go to court to defend himself. I have been married to this man for 21 years and everyone who knows him, knows this didn't happen.
The person accusing him is a co-worker, who has quit work, and is suing the employer for six figures over this supposed incident, as well as seeking legal stuff, more than likely to boost the $$$ claim, as movement on the legal end came months after the civil was being pursued.
The ex-coworker has friends who still work with my husband and have been making his life miserable through gossip and being two-faced, being fed we believe from the ex-employee. They know full well because of the legal action my husband cannot defend himself.
He needs his job, especially when we will now have legal bills to pay, and he has invested 20 years of his life and love for this company. His employer stands behind him, not only legally but as a friend as well.
There will be many requests coming down the pike for this area, and I just don't want to do battle on the legal front, I really want prayer warriors covering us. To lose so much over lies is just to much to bear sometimes.
*Pray for our peace this weekend and for the future as we do battle and protection of our marriage, family, and employment. We heard the absolute worst case scenarios as well as the best from our attorney this week, but being the kind who like to be prepared it was hard to not only hear and remember the bad.
*Pray we can have pleasant diversions so we actually forget about this stuff sometimes.
*Pray for our attorney to have God's guidance in pursuing and preparing our defense.
*Pray the charges either get dismissed because the co-worker recants, or that the DA finds favor with my husband, who has NEVER been in any kind of trouble whatsoever, not even a speeding ticket in over 20 years, and decides to let my husband plead down to the least of the charges which will have virtually no impact on our lives and futures.

It's been a long while since I posted. More issues came up. The accuser has ALREADY submitted a victim impact statement and a restitution request. We wish we could do the same, over what her lie has caused in our lives. But how do you get back such anguish in any way? Even in this there are reasons to praise God....the support we have from our close friends and each other AND my husband's employer is the most wonderful surprise in all of this. I believe we have come to an acceptance that there remains a 50-50 chance we won't win, when someone lies, what can you do but hope people believe you. If that happens our earthly lives could change in a way we never dreamed. My husband may have to wear a label the rest of his life, we will have to move as we live less than a block from a school, so that will involve selling our house, or at least giving it back to the bank, my husband may not be able to find work, as I doubt his employer would be willing to take the legal risk of having him continue working there, we will have to move for the sake of our children's privacy...this list goes on and on. How do we hope to have a loving, caring family under so much pressure? I can't imagine it, but I want to make it through all of this together
Only God can save us from this. Please pray
*God protects our finances and our home and other expenses are never in jeopardy through all of this.
*That the report our attorney presents to the DA leads her to offer a plea deal quickly and eagerly.
*That the accuser realizes she will have to go through with this lie all the way to the end and still may not win, will want to call this all off.
*That we can have the plea deal done in the next three weeks or sooner.
*We are going away this week for some much needed R&R pray for overwhelming, peace, love, laughter and joy between hubby and I
*That our children are safe and protected and have a terrific time with their Grandparents (they are a little uneasy as these grandparents are kind of moody)

It's been a while. Our attorney still isn't finished putting the report together for the DA. She was very ill with the flu and now she has had some personal setbacks. Pray for her. Pray that if this is something NOT from God keeping this report from being submitted, that His power will overcome it. Pray for the best timing in the finishing and the receiving by the DA for the best outcome possible.
As for emotions, for a long time, everything that had to do with an innocent person being accused of something in a movie or television show, this would start a chain reaction of negative emotions for my husband. This sadly, colored our time away. I hate that we spent all that money to go away and it was poisoned in that way. At least we were able to talk about that and my husband determined to stop dwelling on it that way, though it is difficult when you don't know what will happen, and so far it has been working well.
For me, I am struggling, because I don't know what will happen after June
(his next court date) I sort of feel like I can't plan things, almost like I don't have a future. My husband and I are praying through this. I can't tell you how much this stinks It is truly the most unbearable thing. Anything I think about beyond June seems like a fairytale, and I am a reality girl.
But we do have reasons again to praise God. I had been feeling like I needed my husband to pray specific things for me. Since he has been praying them for me, I have been feeling better.
Our attorney was referred to us by my husbands accountability brother.
We learned she is more than likely not in a relationship with God. Our brother shared with us that this situation has been a witness to our attorney. When she informed us of her personal situation she actually asked for prayer. This is indeed a praise. While I hate that it has to come out of our mistakes and shame, I am glad God is using it for some good.
My husband's employer also shared with him that if the worst thing does happen, it doesn't mean my husband will be fired. That grants a bit of peace, but there is still so much uncertainty.

*continued bonding between my husband and me
*a desire to plan for the future, even though it feels like there won't be one sometimes.
*That God will keep all other problems at bay right now.

This sounds extreme, but there have been a couple of moments when thoughts of stepping out into traffic or crashing the vehicle into a tree crossed the mind. We will need to be carried in God's loving arms through those awful moments and feel untouched by harm.

Our attorney asked us to write our own synopsis of my husband and his character for the report she will submit to the DA in hopes of a plea deal.
You have no idea how hard it is to write something that will affect the rest of your life.
So the report is out of our hands by Monday. Pray, pray, pray.

I'm so so sorry that you and your husband and children have to endure this horrible situation. I also know what it's like to be falsely accused of something, then brutally be attacked by false friends and co-workers.
I will pray for you and your family.. I pray that your adversity will bring you all closer rather than apart. I pray that the truth be told and freedom ensues. I pray that your family isn't hurt financially, that your children remain unaffected by lies and deceit, your marriage remains strong, and that the wounds your family has suffered grows into something positive in the future.
God is with you and your husband and children ppodmama. I know it seems like the nightmare will never end, but it will.. and you'll all walk away battered and bruised, but NOT broken PTL! Plus... you all have us here on Crosswalk who will stand by you and your family all the way!!

The DA will be receiving the report from our attorney this week (possibly being sent out today)
Some new information has come to light creating the possibility of the truth coming out. Pray the investigation into this is quick and fruitful because if we can avoid a trial and court costs it would be great.

Please pray for our finances. We may need to work with our creditors in order for us to continue our fight for our future. It is very costly and we don't want to lose our house. Not for our sake, but to also keep the kids from having this impact all they've known. We know it's only a house, but in the midst of emotional parents, it would be so nice to keep our kids in the home they've always known for as long as possible.
If the worst possible outcome happens, my husband could be on an offenders list, who will ever hire him again? I've don't childcare as my career...that will be gone too, along with my chances to continue homeschooling my dear adopted children. So much to lose over a lie.
I don't ask why. I just want the pain and struggle to stop and not be destroyed.

Lord I pray that the truth win out for ppodmama and her family. I pray, Lord that there is not needless suffering over this. I think of the children, Lord, and all the repercussions that come from something like this. Lord, give this family strength. They will need so strength to get through this and I know it must seem like there can be no good to come from it. Please show them your plan, Lord. In Jesus Name.
