And it stunk to high heaven!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this. Crimmany! I always have high-hopes for this show, and at the start of this season, I thought they were finally going to get it right. They had some great plots going with heroes being captured, people switching sides, Nathan acting as a bad guy, main characters acting as fugitives... then, all of a sudden, we get this half-witted ending that feels rushed and is full of holes (how many different "beginnings" have we had? When did this "people with abilities" stuff start? Feudal Japan? The 20th Century? Is this a genetic mutation? Is the the result of a science manipulating people's genes? Is this new, or did the government know about all of this back in the 1940's?)

What goes through the minds of the writers for this show?? Continuity is obviously not one of their strong points, and it kills me because it hurts what could be an excellent show.

I don't think it stunk, but coming off the gleeful Disney style goofiness of Chuck, it was...plodding.

I did like how Peter tricked Sylar at the end. The rest...ehhhh...with HRG, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Ditto for Angela. Matt has become completely boring, IMO. Obviously Hiro is being set up for a life-risking arc next season.

Is Sylar really dead (doubtful)? Is Nathan (more possible IMO, but are they really going to go with Sylar impersonating Nathan again)?

I'm so over Sylar as a character. They desperately needed to refresh the show and get rid of him for good, and they're setting up his return in Season 4. That was a terrible move.

But yeah, Peter's little move at the end was kinda cool.

Another stupid thing about Sylar: Why in the world does the Shape-Shifting ability change clothes? That makes absolutely no sense, considering it's explained as working through the knowledge of others' DNA.

Well, we had the season finale here last night in the UK. We liked all of it except the Sylar morphing into Nathan thing. I presume they ended it like that so that Zachary Quinto could do his filming etc for Star Trek. I do hope he returns to Heroes though, because he's by far my favourite character, and my daughter's.

Before the London premiere of Star Trek, Zachary Quinto was out in the crowd letting people take photos of him. My daughter so wished she could have been there! It's her dream to be able to put up a photo of her and ZQ on her Facebook page!

Zachary Quinto and Adrian (can't remember his last name) are both in the cast for next season. As far as Star Trek, that was already filmed so this plot development wasn't specifically due to Zach having little or no availability for next season. The previews already showed Sylar unconsciously "phasing" back into his true form, briefly so it appears like the plot will involve Angela's struggle to control Sylar and keep him as Nathan. I don't know when the next ST film goes into production, but the script has just started being written, so it will be a while.

I think this was more of a "shake up the story" development than anything else.

Awww, I like Petey.

Manda, can I ask what it is that draws you to Sylar's character? I find him rather dull, actually.

Are you kidding? Nathan has no real abilities! Peter is the only one who can match Sylar. If not, evil would win!!

Perhaps the fact that despite his monstrous acts he is yet extremely vulnerable.

And the fact that he's played by Zachary Quinto might have something to do with it as well.

I think next season could be interesting with Nathan dead and Sylar now Nathan. Nathan's daughter will be furious when she finds out about this. i think this is why she tried to kill Peter in last season. And the company starts again with secrets. I think next season will be pretty cool!!!

When he's on set? Dancre, do you work on the heroes set? Zach Quinto isn't ugly, I'll give you that!

And I like Nathan better when he's a bad dude. Peter can save the world, but Nathan is much better when he's dark and menacing.

Anyone enjoying this season?

New"bad" guy? Excellent. I really like the carnival family angle.

Sylar minimized but still a big part of story? Not bad.

Ray Park? Priceless. I mean, can you really go wrong with Darth Maul, Toad, Snake Eyes, and Chuck Norris in your TV show? I think not.

Claire's lesbian kiss? Heroes has been one of my favorite TV shows for the past several years. I look forward to each episode. This was disgusting and if they continue with it, I will stop watching. The whiny pouty ridiculous Hayden aka Claire is barely tolerable as it is.

That being said, this week's episode, Taula Rasa was one of my favorites ever. I love the developments with Noah, Peter, Hiro, and the new deaf clerk. I really liked the bit with the healer who had lost his way. Hiro had a lot of good things to teach about being joyful in suffering, and how the pointless "routines" of the "normal" life represented death more than his brain tumor. Very inspiring!

I don't know about this week's episode. I have to watch it again, because I only saw the first two-thirds. I felt like Zach Quinto's scenes at the carnival seemed really, I dunno, poorly acted. I'm having difficulty suspending disbelief at Sylar regaining his memories but not regaining his personality.

There's something big on the horizon, I hear (spoiler below in white text, highlight to read).

A major original character is apparently going to die, and the person playing them is leaving the show. I don't know the exact episode this happens in.

Re: Sylar's personality, I think it is interesting that every time Gabriel finds a way and a will to repent of his wrongs and turn to good, outside influences have always manipulated him back into being a ruthless killer. Same thing here, which is why the episode is called Tabula Rasa, the "empty tablet" or "blank slate". Gabriel's underlying goodness is given a chance to become what defines him, to be the story written on his "blank slate", and yet Samuel is dead set on filling the blank slate witht he story of a lethal killer yet again.

Also, if they kill off a character, I SO HOPE it is Claire.

I'm enjoying this season but am wondering what ever happened to Dr. Suresh? Don't really miss him, just don't remember if they killed off his character last season or not.

Continued on with the disgusting "Claire might be a lesbian or maybe not" story last Monday.

If they keep it up, I will abandon the used-to-be-family-friendly series I have loyally followed since episode 1.

I don't think it was ever all that "family friendly" - don't you remember how Nicki came on the scene in season one, and then her affair with Nathan?

True, there were moments. But, Nicki's actions as a whore were never really condoned. Prostitution was never celebrated. Affairs were never celebrated. Both had consequences. Good guys were good guys, bad guys were bad guys, and Noah was... well, Noah.

But, broach the subject of homosexuality and it suddenly turns into a bunch of relativistic "if it feels good do it" "it is only natural" tripe.

Definitely not family friendly with all the serial killing that Sylar does, but I definitely agree that lesbianism should not be made normal! Stick with the good vs. evil and dealing with the gray in human nature.

This season is rapidly turning me into a "former Heroes fan". The episodes are boring, and the writers just do not handle the time-travel aspect of the story in a responsible manner. They should have left Hiro without the use of time-travel and avoided all of the ridiculous plot holes and paradoxes that result from them trying to write it in.

I actually like the addition of Samuel and the evil mutants. It's added a new dimension. The Hiro stories have been kinda weird, but I like this season so far...
