Good morning, Sharon-Marie!

(or should I just say "Hey gifted!" )

May I ask what inspired your news quiz?

Like are you snowed in and waiting on the stagecoach for the USA Today, or is there any reason you're thinking about news sources?

Shar-Mar. I thought of you and wine yesterday. Does that offend? I had a mild headache and went to the bottle that we had opened for New Years and saw the word I knew to avoid...SULFATES. At the local winery, they said that people who had trouble with reds usually can't tolerate the sulfates and, of course, they didn't use any.

But, I wanted to mention that as you track your food and such to look at how it related to a seizure. I couldn't remember your medical details (can't even remember mine) but I wanted to make sure that you had at least thought of that and discarded it as irrelevent.

Gotta work.

So, what did everybody do?

We spent some time at GB's new art desk making some pretty pictures, watched a movie, cleaned the house a bit and headed to Dollywood to find the traffic was just too much and turned back toward home. Once we got to town we got hamburgers at Sonic and came home to play some more.

Sounds like a great day, Lynn. For your sake, I will wish that your days are always like that.

For me, I hung around the house and then went to have dinner at my sister's and BIL's. Then home for another round of hanging out/TV, etc.

Good Morning Wintery Man!

LOL We finally dug ourselves out of all the snow . . . but for the past 3 days, we have been having tremendous wind storms and snow . . . at the same time . . . it's been quite interesting. I'm wondering if you and/or your relatives have anything to do with this.

My inspiration for the news quiz is that I am trying to incorporate a bit of news into my daily life . . . so far, I've only mangaged to inspire it on a somewhat weekly basis.

Here's the thing. I really don't like news. Never have.
I don't like all the ick and yuck.

The last time I watched news on a regular basis was when I was growing up; and even then, because that is what my dad did during dinner. The same goes for newspapers; I rarely read the news; I like the ponderings much better.

But as a "responsible" adult, I feel that I should be informed.

Woe, woe woe is me.

How is life in NA today?

Good Morning Pam and James!

Absolutely not!

Maybe that's why I don't like red wine. Are sulfates also in white wines, do you know?

Actually, my research has shown me that wines can be a seizure trigger for people so proned. It didn't discuss it in light of sulfates but in regards to anything fermented (apple cider vinegar, for example). It was about 15 months ago when I discovered this; and at that time, I stopped drinking wine (and apple cider vinegar).

Didn't have any wine until last month; still have had any apple cider vinegar.

I very much appreciate your concern for me. {{{MBee!!! }}}

One of the things I read in my research is that often, if a person stops consuming foods / drinks that could be considered seizure-triggers, then after a while of abstaining, those things are no longer seizure triggers for that person. There are exceptions, of course.

It's quite complicated, isn't it?

Y'all have days today; I think I need to go finish my sleep. LOL
I was going to go to the grocery store around 7am . . . but that was before I woke up at 3:30am.

Maybe I'll go grocery shopping tomorrow.

Hmmm...that's an interesting idea. Hopefully not true though. Let's see the last person left my house 2 pm from the party the night before. Then Thing 1 and took a 15 minute cat nap and went with Kyoudai, my parents, Thing 2, his dad, stepmom, sister and other grandmother to a Japanese hibatchi restraurant for Thing 2's birthday dinner. It was really fun, but I don't fancy the idea of spending the rest of the year with Thing 2's other family.

Good Morning.

I spent New Year's taking down Christmas and cleaning. It feels good to get that done and not have it sitting around still. The garage is cleaned, chores are done, Christmas is put away (and we managed to not have to go buy any new storage tubs for our Christmas decorations ... YAY!!!).

Today we're going to veg for a few hours, then after lunch Josh has to work, so I'll probably go in with him and check on a couple of my own things as well. In the meantime, I'm fighting a sore throat. YUCK! I gotta see what I can take for it.

Yep, how many wines have the word traminer at the end? So I was confident that Larry was bringing home the right thing. I figured if not it would be a new wine and an adventure in taste.

I don't have specific food clocks neither. I eat whatever sounds good at the moment.

Pork . . . I have a love / hate relationship with pork. I vacillate between eating it and not eating it. The vacillations can sometimes take years before it changes. Right now, I'm in the beginning stage of not eating it. I actually hope I stay in this stage.

Awww; thank you!

. . . Just remember . . . you get what you pay for.
BTW, I'm speaking on behalf on me in this instance; definitely not Lioness - she's priceless.

Well, I'm up from my 3.5 hour nap.
Sheesh, why couldn't I have just slept till 7 instead of breaking it up like I did?

I really have no groceries in the house, and I really don't want to eat at a restaurant

today . . . but . . . it is still wind-storming something fierce PLUS the

powder hounds are all in town, and they board the bus in groups of 10-15, with all their

various skiing parenphenalia . . . I'm not saying I don't want them here; for the most

part, they're actually very fun to listen to because they're so cheerful and

energetic . . . nevermind the fact that most of them speak in various

foreign languages; of which I don't know any of them . . . it's

just that it gets awfully crowded on the busses during the winter daytime . . . especially

if the bus is not a bus but a large mini van / mini bus . . . which the town uses for

the town shuttle when it's not busy . . . but it's been busy for about a

week now and they're still using the mini busses . . . and do you know how

uncomfortable it is to sit on the bus with two bags of groceries in your lap because

there's no room for them anywhere else and your arms squished together because the

bus is that full . . . and I guess I could buy less than two bags of

groceries . . . but then, I'd just have to go through this even more times . . . and

besides . . . once I start swimming, I will only have one day a

week when I can go to the grocery store, so I'm trying to train myself now . . . and

the other day will be set aside for going to the laundrymat . . . which makes 5 days

and 2 remaining . . . well, I'll tell ya . . .I don't go to the grocery store on Saturday . . .

that's just madness . . . and on Sunday, I'm at home

church . . . and I don't really like going to the grocery store in the

middle of the day because that interferes with my projects . . . it takes an average

of two hours for me to go to the grocery store (or laundrymat) via bus, and the store

is only about a 5-minute drive away . . . but, there's walking

to and from the bus stops and the various waiting times at said bus stops . . . plus,

depending on when I leave the grocery store, the next bus will either be there

immediately or within 20 minutes . . . there's a lot of waiting involved when one uses

public transportation . . . but isn't it awesome that there is such a thing as public

transportation . . . do y'all like this run-on sentence . . . it's

beginning to make me dizzy . . . but anyway, normally, I

wouldn't go to the grocery store in the middle of the day . . . but today, I may just

have to . . . seeing as how the morning has already come and gone . . . and thus,

the opportunity for a morning grocery run for today no longer exists . . . poof

. . . my plan was to get to the grocery store by 7 this morning . . . because the

powder hounds usually don't start making their appearances until around 10 . . .

which, if I was in the store for 2 hours, then I would be coming home around

9 . . . way before 10, doncha think . . . I don't usually miss driving

. . . except for when I get an urge to take a cross-country trip . . . sigh . . . and for

times like these when I need to go to the grocery store and the laundrymat . . .

ever try taking your laundry on a bus . . . one of my friends

asked me how come I don't do all my laundry at once when I go to the

laundrymat . . . if someone doesn't drive, they don't realize all the pre-planning that

one has to do when taking a bus . . . for instance . . . I can only take as much as I

can carry . . . and with it being icy around here, as it has been . . . that

means that I can carry even less . . . she also asked me how come I don't do my

grocery shopping while I'm doing my laundry . . . LOL . . . where and how would

I carry everything . . . and . . . I don't like knapsacks . . .

I think they're called backpacks today . . . besides, I'm not a mule

and loading me down with bags to carry and then plopping a knapsack on my back

. . . well, it just ain't gonna happen . . . and people have suggested

getting a rolling cart . . . but in the middle of winter, on ice . . . and

besides, I'd still have to contend with getting on and off the bus . . . and once I got it

on the bus . . . where would I put it . . . in someone's lap . . .

except, certainly not mine . . . . . . these are just some examples

of things that people don't think about when they have a vehicle and can drive

. . . but then, why should they think about it . . . it's not pertinent to their life . . .

and that's absolutely fine . . . I'm not complaining . . . truly I'm not . . . things are

what they are . . . one can either do what's needed to be done or not . . . it's their

choice . . . isn't it wonderful how adaptable Our Lord made us to

be . . . anyway, this really is not a big deal at all . . .

it's just that I'm all warm and toasty right now and I really

don't want to go out in a windstorm to get two bags of groceries that's gonna take

2 hours to do . . . apparently, I'd rather spend those 2 hours creating this post

. . . hey, what did I just say about choices . . . LOL . . . ok, I think I have I rambled on

long enough . . . thank you for listening.
