Good Monday Morning Everyone

Bright sunshine is filtering into my kitchen, with the temps standing at 31 degree's. The sun sure does feel nice on my face tho

I'm fighting a cold that's trying to take over. Got them nasty tasteing Zicam tablets I took today. Hopefully it will kick this out of my system before it starts.

Gonna take ALL my Christmas decorations out of the attic today. Put everything into Katie's old bedroom. Then I can sort through it all and keep what I want, and get rid of the rest. Have all them tree's up there that I have to decide what to do with. So that's my project for today.

Hav'ent bought my turkey for Thanksgiving yet. Figured I'd go this comeing week-end to buy it, along with all the fixings. I usually buy a #20 one.

Good afternoon!

It's wet and freezing here and I feel like I am coming down with a cold or something.

I hope you are all doing well.

I NEED a BREAK. Been hauling down box after box of Christmas decorations from the attic. Goodness..I'm out of shape
I just have the tree's and the outdoor decorations left to take down yet. Everything is in Katie's old bedroom for now. I can take my time going through it all now.

Good afternoon Barb, DeeAnn and Christine . . thanks for starting us out, Barb.

DeeAnn, welcome to our daily chat thread . . . hope to see more of you here.

Christine, good to see you back in here, but sorry to hear you are catching a cold -- you too, Barb . . . cold meds dry my mouth out so bad they sometimes feel worse than the cure. It's pretty cold here today, too . . just 40 right now, tho I think it got close to 50 earlier today.

Garrett just got home from school, and is lying on my chaise lounge, very quietly, so I think he might just go to sleep there again. He came in today with a long-sleeved plaid shirt on -- looked so cute!

Well, decided to turn the Christmas music down just a bit, then checked on my meat cooking for supper, and now he's fast asleep. He sure comes in worn out from school, but he sure does enjoy it, too.

Barb, I guess I'm not quite ready to get out the decorations yet . . maybe next week or while the girls are here after Thanksgiving.

Hi Leah,
Well I wanted to get them Christmas tree's out of the attic. My son and his wife want one of them. The other one will go to the second hand store. In order to get them down I had to move some big boxes. So I thought I would just bring EVERYTHING down. Gonna store it in Katie's old bedroom for a few weeks. I usually don't start decorating my house until the first week-end of Dec.

This head cold is the pitts
I go in for my yearly check-up tomorrow. I'll see what the doc. says about it then. Hopefully it does'ent turn into something worse.

I have my crochet class tonight. I hav'ent even picked up the yard for two weeks now. Let alone work on them "granny squares" I was suppose to be practiceing them

Good morning ladies! It's bright and c c c c cold this morning! Saw some rogue snowflakes yesterday. Benjamin crowed and crowed so I got dd2 up to feed him. He's a happy rooster now.

Yesterday we went to the pulminary doc and then to Costco. DD1 and I had pizza there. Then I came home and watched the weekly 4 hour LOST marathon on Sci-Fi. Fell asleep multiple times during it. (I'm not tired...NOOOOOOO!) I also went to pick my turkey up, because when I ordered it the guy said I could pick it up on Monday or Tuesday. Well, I get there and a lady acts like I'm kind of stupid. Monday or Tuesday of Thanksgiving week! Nobody made that distinction for me!!!! She acted like it was "Duh" thing, like I should have known that! I've bought my turkeys a couple of weeks ahead before! I just freeze it! (Not from them though.) Anyway, that bugged me.

Still haven't put anything in the storage unit yet. Been too busy driving all over the planet.

I'm going to try not to go very far today. I'm fighting a cold like beasty too! Need some OJ.

Have a great day! Blessings to all!

Note to self.....stay AWAY from all those who have colds coming on!!!

Morning! I DO NOT have a cold & I like that! I have soaked up enough sun in Mexico so that I may not get one all winter!!.....yea right!!

I am just not ready for Thanksgiving nor Christmas this year.....guess I better find a mood for it sooner or later.

I have to just sit in my warm house cuz my van broke....so I can't go anywhere even if I wanted to. I think I may just go carless all winter....think of all the money I'd save!!

Good Tuesday morning, everyone!

Momma-Mo, sorry to hear you are still fighting sickness . . . hopefully, fixing the mold problem with the house will solve a lot of that.

Barb, how did the crochet class go last night? Hope you get something for your cold today before it gets too bad.

Hubby is still in bed this morning . . . now this has to be a record -- he's said he doesn't feel well and is tired so he doesn't think he'll go in . . . I'm quite sure in nearly 40 years of marriage I've never heard those words from him. He works with colds, fevers, gout -- went back to work just 4 weeks after his quadruple by-pass surgery! Never has he stayed home with 'I don't feel good & I'm just tired' . . . . but you know, I'm not about to argue, cuz if anyone ever deserved a day off, he sur does. 'Course, it remains to be seen if he really makes it thru the morning without going in to work -- I'm a bit skeptical about that one

Garrett's here -- guess I better go tend to him.

Yes, Good Tues. Morning Everyone

Hey..Pam popped in once! Great to see you post sis

Momma-mo,
Don't you feel dumb when people treat you like that? Then you get mad at them for treating you like that My oldest son always "corrected" me, with everyday comments, I used to make. Finally I told him it was upsetting to me, and he made me feel dumb. Now he does'ent do it anymore.

Leah,
Well enjoy your husband today. My hubby sounds like yours. He does'ent take off work often. Then when he does, he always finds something to do anyways.
Yes, I guess I developed a nasty head cold. Not much I can do about it. I really dislike takeing any meds. We will see what the doc says today. I was'ent sure it I should mix the vitimin C with the zicam meds. So I stopped takeing the zicam. That stuff leaves a nasty taste in your mouth anyways.
The crochet class went well last night. I'm starting to read them patterns better, and I learned a new stitch/pattern last night. Gonna make a winter scarf with it.

So we got a burst of snow showers yesterday. Was really comeing down thick, for about 5 minutes. Then it was gone. But I was driveing in it, and it made it hard to see or drive. Then the snow melted on the roads and turned to ice. So there was "black ice" all over the roads. Many spin-outs even.

Pam, I missed your post! . . . welcome to the daily chat thread! -- feel like I oughta welcome you cuz you're such a stranger here anymore . . . . glad you got to enjoy some of that Mexican sun! Now, welcome back to reality . . . . . . . seriously, it's good to see you posting in here -- enjoy the time off without a van

Well, Barb, it did not last long . . he's already at work . . . guess he just needed a few extra minutes in bed.

No snow here, but it sure is cold . . up to 25 now, but was 21 when Garrett got here. I didn't make it to the gym again because I didn't get to sleep last night until after 1:00 and was just too tired. I'm seriously thinking about canceling for a while.

Hi all!

Bummer you couldn't pick up the turkey Momma-mo. I hate it when people act like you should know something that wasn't clear. I hope you start feeling better soon.

Barb, hope you can rest and get to feeling better too.

Hi Pam!

I hope you are feeling OK Christine.

Welcome DeeAnn!

Had my Bible study this morning. A warmer jacket would have felt better.

My daughter bought the car I mentioned last week; got it home last night and she took everyone to school this morning. I haven't heard anything, so I guess they all made it okay. Last night she said she wasn't hungry because she just spent a lot of money.

Good morning ladies! Just a short stay. Have to go to the store. Need to get dd1 moving.

Please pray for the store as it has almost no business since the economy tanked. I also need wisdom and to hear from the Holy Spirit on whether to take this on. I still believe a change of stock would make a huge difference. I need God to tell me if I'm wrong or right. Anyway, please pray that we are super busy today. (and every day)

God bless y'all! I'll check back tonight! Have a great day in the Lord!

Good Wen. Morning Everyone

Dee,
I am feeling better. Still have the head cold..but it seems to be leaving already. If that's possible?
How is your daughters car running?
My husband gave Cody his old truck. It's a 1979 chevy pick-up. The kid renewed the lic. sticker on it. They expired this last Oct. Cost him $80. He just has his temps until Jan. 09. So the truck has been sitting here. It gets used by my husband once in a while to haul small loads of wood. My older son used the truck last week even. Worked fine for him. Well this last week-end my husband was gonna haul a load of wet leaves away from our yard. The truck will only work in reverse. The tranny went out on it! So now they have to find a different tranny for it. Hope they can find one because I feel sorry for Cody now. Afterall..he already stuck money into it for them stickers.

Momma-mo,
Hope the store picks up on it's sales.

Well I have the house to myself this morning. No daycare kids. Isabelle comes over at 11AM first. So I'm gonna take that Christmas tree to the second hand store for donation. Hey..I like days like this once in a while.

Went to the parent teachers meetings last night. Cody is doing GREAT in all his classes. Got most A's, with two B+'s on his report card. He is third highest in his class. Sure it's a small school..with only 33 kids in his sophmore class. But I'm still mighty proud of him. He may even make the National Honor Society next year..if he keeps this up. It's so neat to get positive reports on one of your kids tho. And when the teachers tell the parent to pat themself on their back, for this well rounded kid..it makes that parent feel they are doing their job well
Parenting was/is always my top priority anyways. And last night I walked out of that school feeling really great about myself. Even tho I had to skip my Bible Study to attend the meetings.

I had a post, somewhere, what happened to it?

Glad you found us Maggie!

I feel your pain Momma-Mo. I have two kids in braces right now. One of them is tentatively scheduled for jaw surgery at the end of next year.

Barb, too bad about the transmission. Hubby wants to look at the brakes and shocks on E's car, but he thinks he can do the work. She didn't drive today; she doesn't like the HS parking lot so she parked across the street yesterday. It's supposed to be colder tomorrow so hopefully she can leave in time to drive everyone. Yay for Cody doing well too! Yes, it does make the parent feel like they are doing something right, and I think that is true!

It was a better day today at the store. More people came and there were more, and larger, sales. I think it pleased the owner. Found out that there is someone else interested in the store. They too, are worried how they will pay for it. I'm leaving it in God's hands. It does feel good to work there again.

Tomorrow is the orthodontist. DD1 had her braces taken off around last Christmas. DD2 is getting hers off around this Christmas. Now DS is about to get them. Glad I don't have 10 kids at this point.

G'night everybody!

Hi Mamabear! I'm mama-bear on some other forums! Congrats on your baby grand-daughter!!!!

Cat got me up early....demanding attention. Wasn't the rooster this time! My alarm cluck got beaten to the job by a cat!

Orthodontist for my son today. I'll stop by the store today and see if the owner needs help. Pneumonia is an exhausting sickness. I've had it 4 times now!

Tomorrow is my appointment with the pastor of the big church and his wife. Please pray that I'll have enough time with them to discuss everything. From my husband's behavior as of late, I'm thinking he needs another session with the pastor too.

Another day, another school lesson! Hope you all have a great day! Blessings to all!

Good Thur. Morning Everyone

Mammabear,
Welcome back..and congrads on your granddaughter!! How many grandchildren does that make for you now? Or is she the first?

Momma-mo,
I'm so happy to hear the sales at the store went well yesterday
Out of my five kids, only the oldest needed braces. But I was looking at Katie last week-end, and I think she could have used them. Her eye tooth on the left side is'ent straight down. I remember asking the dentist about that very tooth, when she was in grade school, and he said it was fine.
When I made a comment about it this last week-end, she said it's fine and she does'ent want braces now. So will just let it be I guess.

I went to a sewing class last night. It was just a one nighter class. I was taught how to make a pillow case. Hey..it turned out really well.
