I just ran into this interview with Sarah Palin and I thought it was worth posting here: quote:
Gov. Sarah Palin blames the Bush administration for the failure of the McCain-Palin ticket, thinks people need to move on from the so-called "Troopergate" controversy and has no regrets about state per diem for time spent at her home in Wasilla or state-funded travel for her children. Palin also said she loved her time in the national spotlight and won't rule out a run for president or vice president in 2012. http://www.adn.com/sarah-palin/story/584193.html I only quoted the synopsis at the start of the article so make sure you read the article before commenting because what I posted doesn't do it justice. : )

She sounds a bit too much like a Valley Girl for me. "...She had told me that, she was like, believe it or not, I'm from a family of Republicans. You, know, it was like, we have more in common than you think." "...that Americans were kind of shaking their heads like going, wait a minute, how did we run up a 10 trillion dollar debt in a Republican administration?" "... I wasn't aware of all the protests until like after they'd happened, I hear about it, a friend e-mailing me or something saying that there were placards out there saying whatever they would say." "...She was like 'oh my gawd you have to see this', but I was like, 'shut up! you're kidding!'" Ok... the last quote wasn't Gov. Palin -J-

So she speaks like a normal person. In the words of Adam Sandler, "WHOOP-A-DEE-DOOOOO!"

Palin will be just another element to destroy what is left of true fiscal conservatism in this country. I like her blaming the ticket's loss on W. Of course, she's partly right. The numbers show him and her as two of the main reasons the GOP took such a trouncing. I can't wait to see the "values voters" beat each other up over Palin vs Huckabee. At least Huckabee, though a socialist, has a sense of humor, and is amusing to listen to.

I am not sure what your idea of a trouncing is but McCain Palin recieved 8 million less votes out of over 123 million votes cast. Almost half the country voted for the McCain/Palin ticket.

Why are the lefties on this board so obsessed with Sarah Palin? Shouldn't you be busy getting ready to celebrate the inauguration?

The real question is, why are people who claim to be on the RIGHT so obsessed with Sarah Palin? Shouldn't you be busy getting ready to find a candidate to support who's not a socialist in disguise, so you can at least PRETEND to run in the next election? The herd of RINOs has followed the Golden Moose in a stampede over the cliff of irrelevance.

What policies lead you to believe Palin is a socialist? Wha evidence is there that she is hiding this philosophy? We an demonstrate that easily with Barack Obama, I am just curious what facts back up your opinion.

The herd of RINOs has followed the Golden Moose in a stampede over the cliff of irrelevance. First off, I didn't vote to make McCain the nominee to begin with, and said all along he was fourth on the list of candidates I would have nominated, so whatever support I gave him was only in an effort to keep a much worse person from being in office. The reality is an election in this country is always between two people; and anyone who didn't vote for McCain helped put Obama in office, plain and simple. Trying to pass this simple fact off on Palin is just an excuse.

Does anyone know if third party votes cost McCain any states? I haven't looked at the data that closely yet.

anyone who didn't vote for McCain helped put Obama in office, plain and simple. Now you sound like a Democrat whining about Ralph Nader in 2000. I voted my conscience. I voted Barr. I did NOT throw away my vote. Those who elected the communist Obama threw away their votes. Those who voted for the socialist McCain threw away their votes. Real conservatives are tired of phony RINOs, "values voters" and other varieties of fake conservatives. The GOP has proved once and for all that it is too tained to reform itself.

You are allowed to vote for whomever you want. Just don't pretend that that vote counted for anything but your own conscience. Obama needed to be stopped. Any vote cast for a candidate other than McCain allowed Obama to win.

It's no different than staying home and watching tv election day.

If you voted for an anti-abortion candidate who had no chance of winning, would you consider that a "thrown away" vote? Shame on you. You don't throw away a vote by voting with integrity, you throw away a vote by casting it for Marxism. The swift socialism of Obama and the slow socialism of McCain both end up in the same place: communism. Palin in her Anchorage Daily News interview says nothing that indicates she would turn around the nation's incipient socialism.

Contrary to what you might believe, 'socialism' does not mean 'policies that don't personally benefit me'.

Theoretically, if all third party votes had gone to McCain, North Carolina, Missouri and Indiana woulod hav added 37 electoral votes to McCain and taken 26 from Obama (Missouri's 11 are still considered undecided by some). That would have made the electoral tally 339-199. Still a butt-kicking.
