Nope. In fact, Santorum supported Specter in the 2004 primary over a much more conservative challenger. That cost him some support as many saw it as toeing the party line instead of standing for conservative principles.

Santorum defeated incumbent Harris Wofford in 1994 to ascend to the Senate. He was a U.S. Representative from the area of my hometown before that.
