Actually, I would have to say calling them 'attempts' would be stretching it. There have been a total of four people who said thing which properly incited law enforcement authorities to act before such attempts were made, but I think we can safely say that in every case so far the likelihood that the idiots involved could actually do anything is suspect.
Either way, we should always do everything possible to protect the leader of the free world.

Regarding W, with the unhinged brains of the left, of course he will need high levels of security. They already made movies and books and plays about assassinating him, and there are at least two moronic books and countless imbecilic articles that think he needs to be put on trial for murder and executed. All presidents require really good security. Even if Obama has a little more security so what? He is justfied in being paranoid (which I don't believe that is the case in as it's the secret service who are more concerned and paranoid about people hurting him) because he made history as the first African American president and many out there don't like the idea of having a black man in power. After seeing so many youtube videos showing extremely ignorant nutjobs (especially from the southern states) and there ignorant comments, I think it's justified to offer him quality security. Mind you it's often the older generations from rural areas that still possess the backward way of thinking but I still believe many of them wouldn't mind spending the last few years of their life behind bars.
Anyways I hope everyone can just pray for Obama and the decisions he makes and llet go of bitter feelings just beause Mcain lost.

it's no joking matter. NEVER will I forget
being downtown Dallas, where I was born,
on Nov 22, 1963 when JFK was assassinated.
One of his security later joined my church
here, and we became friends. JFK was very
negligent about security that day. He was hated
for more than just being Roman Catholic. Being
Eastern, he also may have mistook Southern
hospitality for being nice after coming from Ft.
Worth to Dallas. Though Obama 'never' made it
an issue other than getting the 'best' security that
the Lord made possible by funds over and above
what the government provided, Obama had received
'many' death threats. Obama is smart. Yet, I happen
to know Isaiah 54:17 is fully in operation for Obama.
God showed me MANY times its truth! Praise His Name!

The world says, "Get more weapons, security guards, etc etc"...God says, "it is appointed unto man once to die", and "there is a time to be born and a time to die"..
When one's time is up, no one, except the Lord, can prevent it from happening...Remember Hezekiah when the prophet came to him and told him to get his affairs in order, cause he was about to die (Isaiah Ch 38). Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed unto the Lord who gave him 15 more years.
All the guns and security guards in the world can't protect someone when it is their time...but the world thinks so.

From what little I've learned that link only shows a portion of whats involved, my son is with a Marine detachment and during Pres travel, speeches and such 1 platoon is atleast in the same area and the other is on alert. I'm sure theres even more then that going on. I live about 10 miles from Camp David and we always know when anyone one important is up there as they park 2 or 3 helicopters out at the National Fire Academy. Kinda of off topic but why does it seem that anti-war protests get so violent?

I am very happy he (and ANY AND ALL Presidents) has that level of security. They should do all they need to for his security.

My point is that I have been aware of Presidents since Truman, and have never seen an open display of weapons before.
Obama is extremely anti 2nd amendment and I think it is indicitive of things to come under the Obama administration. As in stating we have the guns and we are going to take yours.

Wow they are less than subtle huh? I thought the Secret Service, was a little more you know, a little more undercover, a little more professional. This is over the top, it is just ridiculious the guy with the gun, out the back window.  why are they so worried anyway, will he not rise again in three days, if he dies? Just ridiculious, him wanting to take our guns, for our protection, but do not take his.

You're assuming facts not in evidence. You don't know what was going on when that picture was taken. They may very well have been loading the truck or setting up some equipment - or may have only had the window open for a second. I doubt very much that they left that back window open while they were driving. What would be the point? They're so heavily tinted that it's hard to see into them, but it's still easy to see out. An open window will only give an advantage to a bad guy.
