My wife, bless her heart, has a lot of strengths. Financial management isn't one of them. Whether I give her $100 or $1000 a month, she runs out of money in the 3rd week.

I have an account where my paycheck is deposited and I pay all the bills. My wife is allowed to look but not touch. Look so she can satisfy her trust in me; not touch lest suddenly all our money spontaneously burst into flames or something.

Once a month I write her a check, an allowance. She also has a credit card she can use for gas and groceries only. Then in the 4th week, I give her a little extra to make it to the end of the month. Works for us.
