ORIGINAL: RubySparkles I read that women cry on average 5 times a month. I never cry. I mean the last time I recall crying was about two years ago. Do you cry? Rarely. It really depends upon the circumstances. Some movies can make me cry sometimes but not others. I cry at funerals and weddings and get teary-eyed over new babies, but I'm not an overly emotional person. For much of my life I have had to be in absolute control of my emotions and to be honest I cannot stand to feel even slightly out-of-control in my life. Which is probably why I was never tempted to do drugs and do not like drinking alcoholic beverages either. I also have a very high pain threshhold and rarely panic in an emergency. On the flip side I have a heck of a temper, and while I seldom lose it nowadays it can be spectacular when I do. Strange, huh?

I cry at movies, sometimes in church, sometimes when DH and I get into an argument. Those would be normal times for me to cry, although for the past year or so I think I've cried more than in my entire life combined for other reasons.

My husband feels that women are often being manipulative when they cry, so I don't cry around him. I would love to have a husband who comforts me when I cry, but God is my Comforter.

My husband feels that women are often being manipulative when they cry, so I don't cry around him. I would love to have a husband who comforts me when I cry, but God is my Comforter. [/quote] I'm so sorry that your husband feels that way :( I have never been a highly emotional person....I've always had to be the strong one. I have been through so much in my life that crying and showing emotion other than anger and directness was not part of the equation. With that said.....I have been married to my present husband now for 14 yrs and although it's been very hard at times as I was a single mom for a long time, he has always been so much more nurturing and caring than I. Now that it's just he & I in our home, we have grown so much closer and I have opened up my heart and emotions and allowed myself to "breath". You are right that God is our comforter and we are to rest in that but it sure is wonderful, now that I know the difference, to have a man that will allow me to be a woman and actually wants me to be. I pray that God will touch his heart and allow you to be who you are inside and out. Completely a woman......just the fact that God made us women and all that we endure in this life only serves to make us strong. However, we also deserve to let our guard down from time to time and be vulnerable and to have a man in our lives that can accept that.

Only if I'm really mad or really frustrated. My heart strings are tugged frequently, but I rarely cry.

I've noticed I don't like crying in front of my parents if I can help it: because my mom's not a crier and if I were to be crying it would probably make my dad cry and I don't like making my daddy cry. Oh gosh, I just love that. lol. And I can picture your mom rolling her eyes at all the men in the family. LOL. I am a crier.

I cry alot, like Donna, way more than 5 times a month. I cry when I pray, when someone hurts me or someone I love, when I read a book, watch a movie, watch an advert on tv that is sad, hear sad news etc etc. I do laugh alot too, I have a good balance
