I cry sometimes, but not a lot.

One of my dogs died this week and I cried a lot over that.

I'd say I probably cry around twice a month. I cried while watching "Bella", too--both times. A lot of it depends on the time of the month. That hormonal cycle stuff never bothered me until after I had Tim, but now I know I'm PMSing if I find myself crying over something silly. For example, I cried a few months ago because Erick wanted to plant a third row of green beans and I was completely overwhelmed and knew that I could never keep up with that many beans. But at other times of the month, I don't even cry when someone has died.

Interesting question and replies and I am the odd one. I cry several times a week and have for as long as I can remember. It doesn't bother me or anyone else, it's just part of me.

I used to cry all the time. I was a really sensitive kid and would get teased for it. Not by family or anything, just peers at school. I hated getting teased for it. I would get all worked up and worried that I might cry and get made fun of that it would make me cry just trying not to. It was horrible. When me and hubby were not doing good, I probably cried everyday. But, we're doing pretty good now. I haven't cried since my best friend's wedding in July, and I like crying like that.

It's nice reading stuff like this from you, Sharon.

Thanks chickie! Isn't it nuts what happens to a person when God smacks you upside the head until you say "yes sir?" Just kidding....lovingly smacks you on the head!

It is GREAT to see you back!

I'm ashamed of myself for saying this but...

I cry all the time when I'm:

sad
depressed (I suffer from clinical depression, so that's part of it).
angry
frustrated (other drivers laying on their horns when I don't turn on red turn lights)
deaths
tired
PMS

In other words, just about anything makes me want to cry. I need to find better ways to cope with my emotions than crying, but I've also heard that having a good cry is good for you, so I don't know. either way, I still cry too much.

This might sound dumb...but am I the only one who gets dehydrated when you cry? One reason I don't like it is that I feel hung over afterwards. And, if it is at night, then I feel hung over the next day.

I get the shakes from crying really hard- like I hyperventilated or something. I usually feel all wrung out, but better after a good cry.

I use to cry a lot, but I don't cry that often anymore. Seriously, once I started taking birth control it messed me up all around and I just don't cry hardly at all. I am off of it now, but still it takes a lot for me to cry. I feel like I am not as soft as I use to be...I miss the old me well some of the old me.

I cry when the circumstance is right, or my emotions are touched. Much like GA-Peach mentioned, BC, it does mess you up getting all the chemical back in balance, which almost hinders any sort of emotions I'm finding (lol).

I forgot until Nicole mentioned it, but...
I know I am really really sick when I can't say "I don't feel well" or "I'm sick" without bursting into tears.

I am not a cryer at least for the most part. Things that make me cry are if my son is hurting, or if my family is hurting. It is seeming that Im crying more now than I have in my life as "the change" is not too far down the road!! Typically when I cry I get a terrible headache and my face turns the color of a tomato! Not pretty!

I don't cry that often, but when I do...I make it count for something (by cracky!)

I love to have a good cry - it's like a pressure-release valve for me.

Crying was forbidden when I was growing up. It could get you seriously hurt both physically and emotionally.

About 4-5 years ago, I joined a support group for women who had lived through abuse. The leader and the co-leader told me time and time again that I could cry if I wanted to, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. One night I was with my therapist and the leader of my group. I don't remember what was said, but the tears just started pouring out. No one treated me negatively for it.

Under normal circumstances, I'd say I cry 4-5 times a week. However, lately, I've had my meds changed and I cry more like 2-3 times a day.

Yup- it was a good breakthrough.

I watched an episode of Reba last night where Kyra dumps her boyfriend because he cries at the drop of a hat...... literally. (Also, Reba is interested in the boy's dad.) It was a cute show, but made me kind of sad to think about the fact that men don't have the luxury of crying like we women do. But I didn't cry about it.

I saw that episode. You're right that guys have a much harder time crying because of society standards. I have been watching my son, who's 9, and his neighborhood friends. They DO cry when hurt AND they all do it. So none of the other boys make fun. I think it is awesome.

I don't cry that much. I usually go to a private area and cry if I need to. But that's cause as a child, my mom would tell me not to act like a baby and stop crying.

My reasons for crying would be being extremly sad or very stressed out. The last time I really cried and felt like it was when I had work-related stress. I think I would have applied with another airline and have left as soon as they accepted me. Always had so many changes and felt like I wasn't allowed to have a break and enjoy a day of being on standby at home like the others. And I felt like there wasn't much if any respect for my position from colleagues (I was a sky nanny. There was supposed to be one on each flight that was operated by a wide-bodied aircraft and we didn't have enough nannies, so...)

Some people seem to cry when watching a movie or a show, but... I might have a tear or two escaping but to actually cry... hasn't happened to me yet.

My mom would tell me that sometimes, but only when we really deserved it. My sister and I used to watch ourselves cry in the mirror and think about how pathetic we looked. She'd get so mad she'd put a blanket over the mirror. We were just enjoying being pitiful, and I think she was probably right in putting a stop to that.

I cry very little. Maybe 5 times a year..and it has to be for a really big reason.

I don't laugh out loud much either. Not sure if the two are connected...

I cry all the time. Several times a week at least.

I cry when I'm sad, when something touches me, when I'm frustrated, when I'm tired, when I'm angry, when I'm too happy to contain it.

I know I've said this already but I know the "change" is coming! I was standing on my porch yesterday drinking coffee and motorcycles started going down the road, I counted 116 of them. Ok, well, the awful part is......while I was counting them I started crying!!!!!! If that's not evidence that "it's" coming I don't know what is! Silly, huh? Well I guess I'm making up for all those years I didn't cry.
