My parents opened a savings account when I was about 5 or so, I didn't know about for a while though. Then a checking when I was 17 because I started taking college classes and got my driver's license.
I opened savings accounts for my boys when they were about a year, but we had to close them out because we moved and I haven't opened new ones since. Probably ought to get on that soon.

My parents opened a school savings account for my when I was 5 (I assume, as that's when I started school). I think my parents gave me about $1/week to deposit in there. I got my first debit card when I was 14 so I could travel overseas. I got a Visa debit card earlier this year, I don't plan on needing a credit card.

When I was 10 through an elem school banking program....I remember getting my first paycheck of $125 when I was 12 the day we took our tobacco crop to market...I felt like the richest kid in town.lol

I was 11 when I opened my own checking account.

I was 8 when I got my first savings account; still have that old passbook in my keepsakes.
I was 14 when I got a checking account. My mother was commuting out of town to go to school, and my dad was working several jobs, so I handled the household including the bills. Using money orders got old, so I opened a checking account and proceeded from there. That thing was always balanced to the penny until I got married (over ten years later). LOL!

My first savings account was when I was about 12.
My first checking account was with my ex. I think I was about 20 or so.
