ORIGINAL: Hayseed I fear a Christian Nation. If your faith has to be legislated to make everybody conform to it then you're a failure. On the flip side, the humanists are slowly legislating THEIR "religion" to make us conform to their enlightened vision of the world & universe. Once in the minority, they told us that it was only fair to allow all views to share equal time for consideration. After they convinced us that was the best course and having gained the upper hand, it was no longer to their advantage to share the stage with us, so we are muzzled in schools and in the public arena. I call that failure.

Right now, I am leaning toward Alan Keyes (AIP). I just started researching him... anyone else have any opinions?

ORIGINAL: JefferyT As usual, come November 4th, I can not decide who to vote for. The Democrats support certain Christian issues, and the Republicans support others. But none of the candidates support all of the Christian values that are important to me. I wish there were a third party candidate that truly represented all of our Christian values. I assume he or she would do very well. I understand your dilemma, Jeffery. The choices we have in the two party system are drastically flawed this election. So what should I do, I ask. It seems for me, I must vote "the lesser of two evils," to coin an expression. First and foremost, I must vote my conscience. While I am very concerned about the environment, I don't think either party is going to change the laws so as to limit pollution or prevent the effects of global warming. Ralph Nader's party would be a good choice, but statistically the Green Party has no chance of winning. More important to me than anything else is to limit the murder of unborn babies in the womb. We have made strides in that the most recent appointee to the Supreme Court was a Conservative Catholic who is pro-life. Thus, the detestable practice of partial birth abortion has been prohibited. There is currently a liberal Supreme Court justice who is rather old. This increases the odds that the next President will have to appoint a new Supreme Court justice. I want that choice to be a justice who is against abortion. Both candidates have made their views clear on this issue, and so I'm left with choosing the candidate that will defend the life of the unborn. Should the opposing candidate win, he will immediately sign a bill that will permit abortion up to the ninth month, will waive minors getting consent for an abortion, and eradicate states' rights that have conservative laws in place regarding abortion. I must support a culture of life, not death. And while I am generally a pacifist when it comes to war, and think the death penalty should be put into practice on rare occasions, the killing of the most innocent and defenselsess of humans (those in the womb) is the most intrinsically evil of all. So for me, the choice is clear. Do I think that another candidate would have been an improvement over the current one? Yes, but that is water under the bridge. So it is that we must each vote our consciences. That involves examining what each candidate and party supports and opposes, and how that lines up with our Christian beliefs. This is not an easy task because so many within the political arena are corrupt and motivated by greed and ambition. That is why I said "the lesser of two evils." HD

Vote for Bob Barr or better yet, write in Ron Paul.
