Hello Ladies!
Long time since I checked in, sorry I'm such a slacker! The last time I wrote I had been to the vet with my dog "Lyric" anyway, her surgery is tomorrow. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. We won't know the results of the cancer until the biopsy comes back. However, the is supposed to be a very involved surgery so I will be a mess tomorrow. I joined Facebook a few weeks ago....is anyone out there on Facebook? If so let me know and I would love to add you to my friends list, if not I understand.

Hi Ladies!
The surgery went fine today and both my husband and I were nervous all day. The really sad part was this morning when the Vet Tech was taking her back.....she turned around with this look on her face that was complete terror. My husband said it was like she was saying "HELP MOMMY< SOMEONES DOGNAPPED ME, CALL 911!!" It's all we could talk about all day! So, we picked her late this afternoon and she was happy to see us but more like a drunk doggie looking through moonshine colored eyes!! Anyway, I have to keep her calm and very low activity for 14 days along with meds every 12 hours. Does anyone want to come help?? I want to thank everyone for their prayers, they were felt and so very needed as I handled it all much better than I thought I would.

Hi everybody.

Vocal, I'm so glad that everything went so well with Lyric. I'd have been a nervous wreck if it had been my Bailey.

Still feeling really low today. I've got a doctor's appointment late this afternoon, so I'll talk to him about that. The added antidepressant hasn't helped with mood like he said it would. I mainly went on it for sleep, and I'm doing that. I'm not sure how much of it now is to do with me being sick, and how much is due to the med.

I can cook really basic stuff, but sometimes I think it would be nice to be able to cook nicer. Not gourmet, but just better.

I think cooking is great outlet to release energy and creativeness. I'm ok at meals but I really need to work on baking. That's something I haven't really developed yet and besides it's kind of intimidating, I think.

Desserts and cakes, I don't play around with. To me, they're precise. The main meal on the other hand. I like to experiment. If I'm in one of those moods, you never know what you're going to get.

I just had to post this because it is so cute.

My neice, J-8, was looking over my shoulder while I was reading a post by Ryanne. She asked me what Ryanne looked like. I told her that I wasn't sure. She immediately ran to her mom's bedroom and got a pair of high heels, make-up and a brush. When her mom asked her what she was doing, she said that she was making herself pretty like "that lady on Aunt 'Berta's computer." I asked her how she knew the lady was pretty. She said "the lady's baby was almost as pretty as she is, so that means the lady is almost as pretty as her mommy."

Only if that's your nice way of saying "having a total tantrum."

Believe it or not Kimmie, she was the only child in the house last night.

I just got off the phone with the Vet for Lyric. The results have come back and she's a Grade 2 for the Mast Cell Cancer. Which means that she has the likelihood of it returning within 3-6 mths and if it does then it will be a continual thing for her the rest of her life. On the up side, it may nevercome back. So, thank you all for your kind words and prayers for her. They're still coveted.
I know some may think I must be a silly person for asking for prayers for her but I know for all the 'dog lovers", you understand how they can completely steal your heart. For anyone that doesn't quite get it how a person can be this attached to an animal let me try and explain. I have only one child, a son who is more precious to me than life itself. However, I also have a daughter, Lyric (my dog). I can call her my daughter because I am the only mama she has ever known. Truly. I bottle fed her, slept on my couch for 6 wks so I could feed her every 2 hrs. Have had her in our lives everyday, constantly, as she lives in the house with me and she will be 6 yrs old next month. When you are that close to anything be it a human or animal you cannot stop your heart from falling in love. Especially when it's a dog who's love is completly unconditional! I have always had animals in my life from the time I was a child but have never been this attached to any of them like this. She's just very special and, I believe, a gift from God.
