quote:
Depending on which string it is, it may be supposed to be tighter. The higher pitch strings like your B and E will be tighter than your low E and A. Ah. It is the high E string. I just remember the original string being looser than this one is now. quote:
You might be but it's very difficult to help you with something like this over the internet. I do have a YouTube video up that teaches a couple different ways to properly tune a guitar if you're interested. Head to YouTube and search gtrdave. You'll find it there. Maybe that will help you. thanx, I shall check it out. quote:
to the OP: Did you replace just the one string or the whole set? If just the one, it may be from a heavier set than the rest of the strings resulting in it being under more tension. If that string is not a middle string (D, G) it could start to pull your kneck out of allignment by side-loading it. I bought 6 new strings, but only replaced the top string. It feels so tight that, If I was to tune it to GCFBDG, the top string would probably break. Ooo, I wouldn't want my guitar to bend :( quote:
If it's at the correct pitch... how can it be too tight? The pitch is equal to the tension. Am I misunderstanding something here... or should I just remember that I'm not a physics genius and it's all up in the air? I mean, it's seems like it shouldn't be, but it is truly tighter.
