The worst thing that I've ever run over was a dog. I was delivering pizzas, it was near midnight, and he just ran out in front of me. He had been hidden by a car parked on the side of the road. I stopped and checked, but he ran off and I couldn't find him. About an hour later, the owner (a friend who used to work there) came in and told us that it was his dog. They had to put him down, which really killed me. I am very much a dog person.

Two deer with two cars. First one took out the left rear view mirror, second one took out the right mirror on another car. In both cases they walked away, though I imagine they each had a headache for a while.
I backed into a pickup with a postal vehicle, once. OOPS! Those things are blind in the rear, and I misjudged the clearances from my visual inspection. That 50 cent sized ding cost the P.O. about $2000. I had to spend a day watching videos on safety and retaking the postal driving test to get my mind right. I probably would have gotten more grief except it happened as I was doing a donut run for my supervisor.

A child.
He came out of an alleyway on his bicycle right in front of me.
I slammed on my brakes and got stopped, knocking him off his bike and onto the street.
I got out of the car hysterical, checked him to make sure he was ok, he was crying and scared, loaded him and his bicycle up into my car and took him home two blocks away.
His mother was thankful he was ok, but pretty upset at him because he was supposed to be grounded from his bike and had sneaked out of the house.
I was just thankful he was not injured other than bumps and bruises.

I almost ran into the big metal building across the street yesterday. I was pulling out of the driveway and hit an icy patch. Our driveway is on a slope and the building is like 3 foot from the side of the little narrow street. They have a 2 foot band of stone around the edge of the building and my drivers side back tire was touching the stone when I stopped!
