I was in Barnes and Noble a few weeks ago and I noticed I gravitated towards the novels, Christian living and relationship sections.

All books bookstore: Christian, Pets, Humor, Mystery, Star Wars Extended Universe, Theatre.

Christian bookstore: Bibles (I need a new one, eyes aren't what they used to be & my favorite Bible is small & has gotten harder to read), Frank Peretti Books, Thrillers, VeggieTale Paraphernalia, Accompaniment Music.

Hey, this is one of my favourite escape--book browsing.

I go to the Religion section. It's interesting how you'll see the New atheist movement is gaining momentum in their crusade against Christianty by seeing how many books are out there from them. But you'll also see the defense of Christianity from various Christian apologists. It's all so interesting.

I go in the magazine section to check out the latest issue of Runner's world, Backpackers and National Geographic (i have a subscription but always late) Outdoors magazine, Times magazine.

I check the health and fitness section sometimes.

As a student in Early Childhood Education I love the Children's section I go there to visit all the books that I want in my classroom or to but and read to my children.

Then comes Christian

I do like the cooking section but the cookbooks I like are very $$$$ due to their glossy food pictures. And I feel very bad when I can't but them and learn to cook those dishes.

It usually goes: Christian, Christian Fiction, Literature, then Music/New Release/You never know. The coffee shop usually works its way in there too....does that count? lol

I do enjoy the cooking section too. But so much $$$$. You're better off pulling recipes from the internet. :0)

I generally go to the Religion/Christian section of the book store first, but invariably I end up in the Science Fiction Section. I'm an inveterate short story reader so I'm usually looking for anthologies, although I do occasionally buy a novel.

For me, it varies. We don't have a bookstore nearby, so I don't go as often as some, but when I do it's usually the nature section, followed by religion (for the same reasons as PrarieHiker, we think a lot alike), then nutrition & cooking. Sometimes I head over to the travel books and I always have to check to see if they have any nice journals on sale (otherwise, I get those from Ross or Marshalls).

If it's a Christian bookstore, I usually go to the popular new releases, especially relationships, then to Bibles to see if anything's on sale, then to the music.

Hey Gracie, we do think alike, lol. I go to the cookbooks a lot lately. And the travel section quite a bit. Bookstores are my hang out in the winter when it's too cold to be anywhere else. I grab a book and sit in the cafe for hours. When I was studying for my exam, I'd sit in a bookstore for 8 hours and study and drink coffeee. By the time I get out of there, my body is shaking from caffeine overdose, lol.

I like to browse the cooking section as well, but I don't even let myself do it at a full price bookstore. Too much temptation. I usually only browse when it's the used bookstore or a really good discount store.

I also agree about browsing the recipes online. It's great when they're rated by users. BTW, I have never gotten a bad recipe online, and I've probably used closed to 20 now.

My bookstore is the goodwill. You get all sections crammed together and books from way back, many with a more powerful Christian thema than modern ones. You also get tobut some rather vile books and throw them out for a very reasonable rate.

Our Salvation army store recently enlarged so their also a fun stop plus you get to donate to a Christian organization.

That's what I do for the most of my book purchases. When I do go to the bookstores though I tend to hit the literature or health sections first. I do love just taking my time to browse all over. If I go for coffee I grab a handful of books and then sit and enjoy two of my favorite things in life.

The relationship section...every time! I have so many books on dating, guy/girl relationships, just people problems in general that it's not even funny! But, then again, I'm going to be a psychologist when I graduate college! I also like books that cause me to delve deeper into my walk with Christ, ministry books are really appealing to me.
