Ruby Tuesday's is good!

We are full of kielbasa from a church dinner...and Halloween candy from a stop on the way home...

I had to look that up, and well, isn't this a nice picture?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:MundareSausage.JPG

That just doesn't look right!

Cranky! You didn't know kielbasa?

That makes me sad.

Run right out and get some and cook it in the slow cooker all day in some sauerkraut, eat it on buns with mustard and kraut. Or not on buns with mashed potatoes and kraut.

Can I eat it without the sauerkraut?

Mr. Crankius says it sounds very good. Does it usually have MSG in it?

Kielbasa - Cut up put in a crock pot with cabbage potatoes and onions. Clow cook all day make some cornbread and Yum Yum.

I haven't had any Halloween candy yet but I didn't think about the fact that they would be selling it for 1/2 off. If I could find some that wasn't packaged grotesquely, I would probably buy some. A friend sent me some mini candy bars for my birthday in May and, since I finished them off, I've thought they were really nice to have around, even though I probably shouldn't eat that much sugar.

That sounds like the right ticket. I'll have to look for those. When I was a child, we were very poor and couldn't always afford food but we ate a fair amount of Three Musketeers. I went for a lot of years without being able to eat them but I think I can do so now and I know I like the other two you mentioned.

You must not have lived on them for years. I probably would love them if not for that.

I'd have traded you places if I could but I'm sure the Three Musketeers is where you would have wanted your taking my place to end.

Hello Mr. Kerrlaw and Friends!

Candy bars: I like just about anything with chocolate, so I love 3 Musketeers, and Snickers, and what used to be called a Mars Bar, but they don't make them anymore. The Snickers with almonds taste pretty close to it.

Lately my favorite chocolate is Ritter Sport. Toblerones are great too!

Kerrlaw, you will be happy to know that I listened to a Southern Gospel group on the T.V. the other day. They were, I think, a bluegrass group, with a lead female singing. It was upbeat and very good! I didn't get their names, though.

I don't really like straight traditional bluegrass all that much, but this song they did was fun to listen to. I imagine an entire concert of just straight bluegrass would get a bit monotonous.

Isaacs maybe??? Check out the home page of singingnews.com...picture on cover of Nov. Singing News.

A woman after my own heart!!! My husband is a bluegrass fiend...even learned to play the Mandolin on his own!

He feels about my Southern Gospel the way I feel about his bluegrass. I guess I came to tolerate but not love it because I grew up listening to it...and not very good groups at that!

Edited for mispellings...

Yes, I think it was the Isaacs.

I love Nickel Creek, but they aren't traditional bluegrass.

Nickel Creek is one of his favorites...of course he is a BIG Doyle Lawson fan...one of the reasons I talked him into going with me to National Quartet Convention next year...to hear Doyle in person!!!

Beckey- the silver gelatin was an 8x10 of a bronze statue of a little boy holding a dove against his chest. I don't have it scanned in yet. The statue is called "Peace". Like I said- I should have put a little card up that said what it "was".

Sorry I haven't be very chatty- My Honey is home for his 4 day weekend so I am otherwise engaged.

My youngest son took the strings off his first mandolin (which was an inexpensive one, but we're pretty sentimental about it since it's the one he got his start on) and on it has collected autographs of many mandolin greats, including Doyle Lawson (we see him every year at the chili festival). He also has Ricky Skaggs, Rhonda Vincent, Danny Roberts (of The Grascals), Hershel Sizemore, Alan Bibey, David Harvey, Adam Steffey, Russell Moore, Roland White (he was on an Andy Griffith bluegrass episode), David McLaughlin, Wayne Benson, and Mike Bostic. Okay, so you probably haven't heard of Mike Bostic, but he's pretty famous around our house and worthy of an autograph.

For my birthday, a friend sent me a mixture of Snickers, Butterfinger, and Peanut Butter cups. I think those are three of my favorites. I also used to like Twix but haven't had them in forever.

I've never been a huge Bluegrass fan but my mom and brother really like it and I've grown to like some of it. I typically prefer Southern Gospel though.

Hey Kerr, quick question. Do you have anyone in your family that takes a lot of cruises and posts under the name " ekerr "? I am a member over on the cruisecritic board and there is a regular poster who has your last name and your sense of humor. Any kin?

The closest thing I have to a family member who "takes a lot of cruises" was a great uncle who ran a ferry back and forth across the river.

The usual cargo was moonshine, which makes it similar to the only cruise that I have been on.
