Oh, I've been there ... not a petty prayer request at all ...
It was a long day at the funeral today, seeing some family I don't see nearly often enough, some I haven't seen in years, and some I barely know ....
My brother commented that the funeral procession was so large that some people turned the wrong way ... part of it was that he threw people out of the rotation because his truck wouldn't start ... anyway, I said, "I just don't think they're equipped to deal with a MITCHELL funeral ... we all come out of the woodwork.
Introduced myself as "just one of hundreds of cousins ...."

OK, I guess. We won't hear anything "official" for at least another week. There is still a lot that doesn't sit well with my spidey sense.
In other news, my car is down. Won't start, and a jump did nothing for it. I am very bummed because things were already WAY tight before this.
And you're going to seriously laugh when you read this:
I came home to find a message from the fraud department at my bank wondering about recent activity. Their automated system verified my name, my address, my employer, and whether I had authorized a transaction for $2,350 ... WHAT???? Of course, it was declined because I do not have that kind of money, but what if they had tried to get a fraction of that amount?
They canceled the card and are sending me another. I won't have another for at least a week.
I use that debit card for everything from paying for purchases to paying bills online. Now I am wondering how in the world someone got that number!

I'm having a stressful day. I got an e-mail informing me that some of my hours had been restored. Two hours later, I got another e-mail informing me that they had not been restored after all. And my car is in the shop and I am facing an unknown repair bills and mounting utility bills. Merry Christmas to me.

I am sorry Diane............I know it doesn't always help but don't forget God knew your car was going to break before it did and he already went ahead and prepared that path

Thanks Diane...........I am taking steps forward............so posting picture is an act of bravery.
I am not sure how long I will be brave but it is a start.
Funny after I posted the picture I was lead to a thread which brought back up the whole reason I fear my picture online..........at first I felt those old lies come back and satan trying to make me afraid again.........but the picture is still there for now............

Hi everybody.
Di, sorry to hear that things are going so rough with you. At least the bank was aware enough to pick up that something was happening with your bank account. A hassle that you don't have a card until the replacement comes, but at least noboby managed to hack into your account.
I hope your employers sort out your work hours quickly, and preferably give you more hours not less.
Any news on the car?

Boy, Di, it sure seems like you have hit a rough patch. ((((DI))))) I pray that you feel God's love and protection through it all, and are given grace to endure. Any word on the car? Do you use your debit card at the gas station? I've recently read that bad guys are putting 'readers' on the card slot on the pump, that records your card info and the PIN number you punch in. I saw enough about it that now I either pay cash for gas, or use the card as a 'credit' card so that my PIN can not be picked up. Just a thought. I'm glad your bank caught it quickly.
It's hard when the job is yanking your chain about hours. I go to a reduced schedule starting Monday, so I know how you feel. I'm in the strange position of hating my job while being thankful to have it. At least so far I still have health benefits, though they're saying we'll have to pay more on the premiums. It's already quite a bit per month for coverage for my daughter and me, so paying more while my hours are reduced is going to be tough.
Got two deer! A buck on opening day, and a doe on Monday. Both were excellent, quick clean shots, neither had to be tracked, and both were close to the trail and easy to drag out. So I am one happy camper! It's the most successful deer season I've ever had!  I still have two tags to fill, but even if I don't get back out in the woods, I'm still happy. Meat for the freezer!
I'm at work, so I'd best get back to it. Hope you are all well!

They raised your premiums and cut your pay? Are they NUTS?
Right now I am at my friend's house waiting for the official word that my car is done. It was SUPPOSED to get done yesterday, but whatever. On the way, I am going to have to go to the bank and write a check because I have no debit card to use at the pump.
I use it at the pump ALL THE TIME and have never been prompted to enter a PIN. I also use it to pay bills on line and everything else. They said it was too early to tell where it stemmed from ...for all I know, it could have been that pimply faced kid at Subway, though that's unlikely.

Hi Di, It could be as simple as an unscrupulous cashier stealing credit card numbers when you go to the store to use it. In any case, I hope things work out better for you!

Is everyone ready for Thanksgiving? I get three days off this week, whoo-hoo!
Got the doe from the processor on Saturday, and had venison chops for dinner, fried up with some onions and potatoes. Yum! It felt so good to stock up the meat in my freezer, right alongside all the veggies and fruits I put up this summer.
Gas is around 1.70 a gallon now, awesome! Every paycheck I've been getting four or five extra five gallon cans filled, and filling my bulk storage tank at home. I now have about 100 gallons in reserve for the lean times. Things always get very tight from Jan-April, so this will be a help. Plus it's nice to know I have plenty for the generator during our frequent power outages. Last outage was a real pain, I had to go to town for more gas during some really bad weather.
Well, back to work!

Yup, car is out of the shop. Fuel pump was the culprit! I've replaced every component of that fuel system! When I had the tank replaced, they had to drain all the gas when it was $4 a gallon ... now that it's $1.70, I didn't lose any of it. I bought a $50 gas card out of habit, but I only used $15 of it!
Finances are looking very, very, VERRRRRY tight. I'm worried about paying the bills let alone Christmas ... I cannot afford to get anything for anyone.
Visited a new church Sunday. Not what I would call "spirit filled" at all ... but it was very near my house. Oh well ... now I know why I hit the road and drive half an hour to church on Sunday.

Hi Ruthie, everybody.
Nope, we are still car-less. We've been having to use public transport to some places. Even before I'm half way up the street, my back abolutely complains. Oh well, we have to do what we have to do.
Haven't been well today, so I wasn't going anywhere, even though I'd planned to before waking up sick.
