Okay - since Oct is generally the peak of fall colors - tell us about your area.

Mine - we don't see color until Feb!

Okay - disclaimer for those who "live down under" - tell us about your spring!

LOL!

Well...since a day or two after the hurricane, the streets of this area have been lined with tree limbs and tree trunks (and bags of leaves, etc). First the leaves were green. Then, they died and turned brown.

Yesterday, the debris removal teams made it to our neighborhood and removed the limbs and trunks. Now there are patches of dead grass where the piles used to be.

I guess we actually kind of had a fall here this year. Thank you, Ike!

Here's something really cool! The members of the cleanup team on my street were from Miami. They told my mom and several other people that they were impressed with how patient and kind the people here have been towards them. Way to go this part of town!!

Well, thus far it's very good.

I'm a little sneezy though at the moment, which is unusual for me.

Hi all,

September has been rather warm and rainy so the leaves have not started to turn yet.

There can be some beautiful colors here this time of year, but it's been quite warm so they are just starting in some places. The next couple weeks should make a big difference.

Occasionally I'll see a maple tree with bright red leaves already. I love fall!

Look at my avatar...that's me playing with the leaves. My daughter and I always take fall pictures and we always roll around in the leaves. It's so fun, lol. That's our thing during autumn. Where I went on the weekend, the leaves were all beautiful colours....mostly gold and red. Seeing them from the top of the hills during a bright sunny day were a sight to behold.

How colorful the leaves they be in my town, she did ask.
Not quite, did I reply, for 'ere we ain't done with rotten pecans and little bitty acorns falling from the sky and watching the squirrels get busy with it all making their mansions in the branches or wherever it is they hibernate for the winter. I think they'll stay above ground this year because we're slated to go straight into spring, so the plants and trees and all will just drop their leaves about mid-March or so and the new leaves will pop out. It's a hurricane drought climate shift kind of thing.

I'm ready for the full on-set of fall. Falling leaves, sweatshirts, breath on the air, chilly and chili weather!

we're just starting to get some yellows. The oranges and reds will come later. We've so many trees in our area that autumn is a banquet for the eyes as God paints the hills gold and red

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know - it wasn't Oct everywhere when I started the thread. Deal. And yeah, some places don't have leaves changing colors. Again. Deal. But, MOST places DO have leaves that change colors - so, THROUGHOUT THE MONTH - tell us about the colors in your area. That's all we ask.

Deal?

Deal!

Down here, we do see a little change... on the way in to church, one of the ladies that rides in with me keeps commenting that our leaves are changing. It's the young cedar trees that are turning yellow and the Sycamores whose leaves are turning yellow, too. Oh, and we have this tree, can't remember what it's called, but it has both yellow and salmon flowers... right now the yellow flowers are in bloom. Oh, and people are putting out Crocus plants which look "Fallish" right now.

I'm sad that I'm going to miss the Fall show this year... I usually drive up into the mountains in October, but I'll be taking a trip in January and might get to see snow! If I do, then it's a fair trade-off.

I was just messing around

Believe it or not, we loose leaves here too. Not too much color here in town, but it just takes a little drive to see the colorful beauty of fall.

I like the title of the thread and am looking forward to everyone's excitement and description of the beauty of nature.

yeah, yeah, yeah, likely excuse.

This IS true! Hey, you can tell us all about how everything is blooming! I never truly appreciated spring until I lived in NYC and saw things grow a foot overnight. It was amazing!

But, Fall is still my favorite - I LOVE cooler weather.

Hey, did you know that I'm getting to be in 50 degree wx this weekend, when I'm shooting David Beckham?

Yeah, autumn (I actually caught myself saying fall the other day, lol) weather is great.

The only thing you usually notice about the seasons here is the differing weather. This is mainly because most foliage is evergreeen here.
