I deleted a couple of my posts regarding other threads, as others may have been offended by them. It wasn't my intention to be rude or hurtful. I'm sorry if I have offended anyone.

Jen, hope you're feeling better.
Cindy, ouch! I cut some nerves and tendons in my hand when I was a kid. My arm was in a cast for weeks.
Ezri, glad you enjoyed the practice.

We are making a big thrift store run today. There is a huge thrift store near where we used to live, and everything in the store is half price on Mondays. It will take us about an hour to get there, but once a year it's worth the trip. There are smaller stores here that we shop at, but often we can't find what we're looking for in them. This one is absolutely huge, and if someone can't find clothes there they are simply too picky. Last time I went I got everything my kids needed for winter, including coats, and spent about $70. On Mondays you can get jeans for $2, coats for $4-5, and shirts for $1-2. Everybody needs a bunch of stuff so we decided it's worth going today.

Cynthia- you're so sweet, I can't imagine anyone being offended by you.

Cindy- Hope the shopping goes well! It's always nice to find something you didn't know you wanted but once you get it you realize it really meets a need. I hope that happens to you today.

I love thrift stores!!! It's amazing the stuff you can find. You do have to go in with an open mind, though. ie if you are looking for an Old Navy blue hoodie, you might not find it. But, if you want a medium weight long sleeve shirt, you are bound to find something you like!

I had to take my dog to the vet this morning. She had a cyst rupture over the weekend. It got really gross. I was afraid they would have to keep her for surgery. Luckily this vet knows my dog, and knows that she's all growl/whine and no bite. I mean, trimming her nails sounds like you are ripping her limbs off... He was able to shave the area and clean it. He wants to get it healed up a bit, the eventually she will need it surgically removed. Good thing I love the mutt.

Hello everyone,

My day is going well. For Dh it has been tough though. Church is tough and computer problems. Best Buy ripped him off (at least that is how he feels). We have spent more on his computer than a brand new one would of cost. Best Buy backed all of his things up, but he can't find them.

Still no news on my brother. I thought we would of heard what is going on with him by now. I've been waiting for my mom to call me. I guess No news is good news, right??

What a beautiful fall day here! I'm in the mood for a weenie roast and a camp fire. Anyone care to join me?

We have five computers. One doesn't turn on. One comes on, but it doesn't do anything. One makes a lot of noise and we can't seem to load anything new onto it. My computer is very slow and the fan goes on and I feel like there is something wrong with it. Our main computer seems to be working fine. It is quite expensive to get computers worked on and sometimes it really does seem like it costs almost as much to fix them as they would cost to replace. Dh asked about getting his laptop fixed that turn on and then doesn't load windows or something like that. They told him it would cost a minimum of $300.

Today is our anniversary - 18 YEARS!! Wow! Can't believe that we made it this far!
We had a nice weekend. We left the kids with my SIL and went to Cincy by ourselves. We went to see Fireproof on Saturday night and out to dinner. Wow- Fireproof made me cry and it was hard to watch! So many reminders of what we have been thru... Great movie with great salvation message.

Congratulations, Melissa.
We saw Fireproof too. It was a very good movie. Hopefully many people will be helped by it.

I so want to see that movie, but we'll wait until it comes out. Brian says watching a movie in a theater is not on his list of must do while in a wheelchair things.

Yeah, it was amazing. The acting was a little bit low-budget-ish, especially in the beginning. But by the end, I forgot all about that! I am so glad that they did not hold back on the salvation message. It would be too water it down. I want my parents to see it!!

misaham--Happy Anniversary! We celebrated our 18th last Monday. Gotta agree. I can't believe we've made it this far.

Donna--if there's a movie that you and Brian really want to see, I say MAKE it happen.

I know we could see it in a theater...there are these things called wheelchair accessibility laws (though you'd be amazed at the places that don't follow them!). We're not usually big on going to the movies though. We'd much rather snuggle up and watch it at home. I do like to support Christian and family movies in the theaters though. It's just looking like we won't this time around because Brian doesn't feel like it and I won't go see this one alone. That's okay...I just have to learn to be more patient and wait until it comes out.

Congratulations! Sorry I missed yours! Yeah, it really feels like a milestone, and one that I doubted that we would ever see. I know that I am worn out from the "fight", but I think that is right where God wants me, so I give up and let Him take over!

I agree Donna, there are places to park a wheelchair at the movies, and this one is worth it!!!!

I can't even fathom 18 years of marriage. Congrats to you both, and your hubbies of course! LOL

We're coming up on 10 years in January, and it feels like forever. I can't believe we've made it this far either...and we wouldn't have without God, that's for sure.

You enjoy making the rest of us feel old, don't you?

18 years isn't all that far away know. It feels like it has just flown by. Where did the time go? There just is never enough time.

Ten was a big one for us, too. We didn't celebrate 15, instead waited until 16. It's almost like that year we were apart didn't "count", so 16 was really 15. If that makes any sense?!

I still need to go run. Now I know why I always run first thing--get it out of the way! Somehow I mis-read my schedule and didn't see tht my coach had me down for a swim and run. It wasn't until mid-morning that I was posting my swim data that I saw the run. Ops... At least I have brand spankin' new shoes to run in!

Dh and I have been married 24 years. It seems like a l-o-n-g time. We've had a lot of really awful years. However, the good news is that we are doing well and enjoying each other more than we ever have before. Our relationship is deep and we are growing more and more in unity and love. I have grown in learning to respect him and to build, rather than tear him down. I am thankful for our marriage, even though we have had to work really hard at it to get through all the baggage and strongholds we brought into it. When I was about 17, I prayed for wisdom. I had no idea what I was going to have to endure in order for the Lord to fulfill that in my life.

We have been married for 15. Seems like a long time for us... and yet, it has gone fast at the same time. I'd like to see that Fireproof movie, too. Going to the movies is hard for us with the kids... we don't usually do baby sitters. We wait until it comes out on DVD, also. When Noah gets a little older we should be able to do movies again. Right now he is very squirmy and he has gotten loud

I think Dh got his computer running decently now. He is still upset over the cost and really upset that best buy backed up all of his stuff, but he can't figure out how to get to any of it. He'll have to bring it back to them so they can show him.

No news on my brother all day today. This is torture for my parents! I hope they know what is going on by tomorrow.

Happy anniversary, Melissa.

That thrift store is in Willowick - very doable for you. I can tell you how to get there if you like. They did a little redesigning since I was there last. Now, instead of just regular rows of racks all over, they put those circular racks up front. Translation - they have less stuff than they used to. We still found quite a bit, but I didn't do as well for myself as I had hoped I would. I did find a good barn coat for $5, a pair of jeans, and a couple of sweaters, so I'm still happy. The girls found a lot as there is a lot more in smaller sizes. All in all we racked up a $300 bill, but since all was half off I paid $150. We have 6 huge bags of clothes.

I am having dog issues as well - as in dogs who won't leave me alone. For some reason they are both extra needy today. They're driving me nuts.

Happy Anniversarys to All!

I have finally been able to use the extra memory card with my mp3 player!!

Hooray! The old system I had did not tell you what kind of file you had-mp3, wav etc.. so there was no way for me to figure out which file was the corrupted one. Now I think I know which one was the problem. I think I need to convert that and one other file into mp3 format and put them on the player.

I am still glad I ordered a player with more memory. I would have to use so many small cards with this one that it would be trouble to keep track of them all without losing them. The cards are no bigger than a small fingernail so too easy to get lost and or damaged.

I even figured out how to subscribe to some pod casts and get those on the player.

I'm very proud of myself for finally figuring some of this stuff out!

I have been working on this stuff off and on for a few weeks now so that's why this is a big deal!
