If it were my son, I'd tell him to wrestle her and give it all he had. Absolutely do not hold back, even if she cries. Within the rules of course, but if she wants to play that game, she should not be coddled.

If he follows the rules then she will not cry, because proper wrestling techniques do not cause a lot of physical pain, discomfort maybe, but not a lot of pain (and any girl who wants to wrestle is bound to be a tough cookie). But yes, I agree with Cynthia that he should wrestle and to the very best of his ability.

Good luck to your son, Homegrown! I'm sure he'll do well with wrestling.

Yea, I did tell ds that I would probably let him wrestle. I told him that chances are she is tough, that is why she joined. I told him not to worry about hurting her, or touching her in the wrong places by accident because she knew what she was joining and wants to compete. I also warned him that he would probably get some teasing if he looses to her, and also get some "that's not fair because he beat a girl" attitudes if he wins. We try really hard to just teach him to be a good player, respectful to his teammates and coach because he's playing to glorify God with all he does. The public school coaches LOVE him and everyone calls him Smiley... how can I not let him play... so he'll play.

I suppose it's a moot point. Even if she quits, he may have to wrestle girls from other teams, right?

I would think so.

I agree that he ought to do his best and treat her like one of the boys. It's not fair to make the boys suffer because someone wants to join what ought to be an all boys team.

I used hot dog buns to make garlic bread/toast tonight. It turned out okay!!

I am determined to make Noah wear his glasses. I gave myself a deadline of Thanksgiving to try and try and try. Today went pretty good. He kept taking them off in the living room, then he'd come into the kitchen and I would take him by the hand and bring him back into the living room and put them on. Then, two-three minutes later, he'd come back without them. He did this routine at least 5 times. Then, I had one of the kids take him outside and he left them on. He was more unruley about them because he needed a nap. So, he is sleeping them.

I sat outside to watch Noah play for a while. It is the most beautiful weather for this time of year! But, looks can be deceiving!!! There are TONS of little tiny black bugs. I don't know if they are chiggars?? They bite, and they are so tiny that they have come in through our window screens. Now they are all over in our house, they got in our lemonaide and pumpkin bars!!! a little protien I guess.

Ds is cleaning the kitchen before we leave for the play. He is my son that can not clean no matter how hard he tries... the same one that is in wrestling. Well, he just looked at me and said... "I think the kitchen looks spectacular!!" I'm glad he is enjoying his cleaning job tonight Of course, we used paper plates and frozen dinner that had a throw away dish.

I went ahead and started the November Thread. All I could think of for a title was "Turkey 'n Taters"
