Anyone who knows me on this forum knows I can't resist taking people up on an offer to share my unfiltered opinion. So, be encouraged, blessed, and corrected as the Lord leads. Know that the following is for your benefit, as requested: 1. Your site looks amateur from the perspective of many fields: web design, typography, etc. Seriously consider consulting professionals in these fields, and you will promptly promote your site from a freebee homemade site to a professional site that generates automatic respect for your site's content. 2. Consider changing your site's name - I honestly expected a home & garden site judging by the name. It may not generate interest with your intended demographic. 3. Consider using less generic graphics - everyone has seen Mars and Saturn, specifically those photos of Mars and Saturn. Are they yours to use? Ripping photos from NASA may be a no-no. 4. Your site's navigation is a little rough. Consider consulting a designer on the concept of "visual hierarchy," and contrast. 5. Your one image under the article on "Soa Lee" is verging on pornographic from a Christian perspective. Many viewers will recoil from content like this. (I'm one of them). 6. Your side frames run WAY too far down the page. Most readers don't want to scroll down that far to get to what they're interested in. Perhaps using several pages would be advantageous, as well as reducing load times for users. 7. Your introduction seems contradictory to say the least, revealing a Christian bias and then claiming to be unbiased. It also uses personal pro-nouns, which i would shy away from. Talk about the site, not the author. 8. Why is your e-mail sophie11? Why not sophie2, or sophie99? The number seems a little confusing, and unnecessary, and should be removed unless you have a very good reason to have it there. This is a quick start to help you as your site progresses. As an amateur web designer, and a professional graphic designer, I can certainly understand and sympathize with the challenges that you face with this site. Let me know if I can be of further assistance to you. cheers, Locke P.S. - signatures are set via the "My Profile" link at the top of this page.
