DailyBread49 -> Greetings from Texas (9/29/2008 2:58:27 PM)

I am anxious to get involved in the forums. I think Crosswalk is one of the better Christian sites around.
We have just moved to a smaller house and have a back yard full of trees and birds. I enjoy watching the birds feed from the two feeders that I have put up so far. Hope to add more.
Can anyone tell me a humane way to keep cats away from the feeders?

Welcome DailyBread49[sm=wave.gif]May you be blessed here.
I enjoy bird watching too, as well as watching the antics of the rabbits and squirrels. Next year our tree should be big enough for a bird feeder. Hmmm... sorry, i don't have a solution regarding your "keep away the cats" bird feeder.

Welcome to this excellent forum.

There is a pest guard for bird feeders. If your feeders are on a pole you can add it easily. It is a bell shape with a hole in the top. The pole goes through the hole and anything that tries to climb the pole ends up inside of the bell with nowhere to go but back down.

I don't have any advice for cats on the ground. Perhaps a seed catcher that keeps fallen seeds from reaching the ground will help.
