Poor Levi, sounds like croup to me. My doctor gave Grace antibiotics for it (I think she may have had something on top of the croup, can't remember now) and I got some medicine from the chemist for it too. Have you called your doc or the hospital etc to ask them what you should do?

Cold air, Amber. It's totally the opposite of what everyone says to do but it works. Here is a link.

Oh yeah, I did the cold air thing last night too, and that helped for a while. The problem is, it is SO cold here! (currently 24) Brrr! That link you gave me said I should see the dr if the child is drooling a lot. Well, Levi is....but I was blaming that part on teething. (he's working on 3 or 4 right now) Hmmm....he's not blue or anything like that, and the only time he has trouble breathing is when he tries to sleep. I'm going to be keeping a close eye on him though!

ORIGINAL: HomeSpunLady On a different note, I got tired of carrying around a purse and a diaper bag, but my biggest bag isn't big enough. Any suggestions on a bag that is big enough to do double time? I actually carry a mini backpack as my purse and bare essentials diaper bag. It's worked great for me.

I have this bag that is my all in one bag. It has all her stuff that I would need while out and all my purse essentials: 4 diapers 1 onesie pair of socks wipes hand sanitizer spray 2 burp rags (fluffy cloth diapers) hoodie for cool days 1 sunhat 1 cool hat change purse wallet phone keys chapstick and pens few other things I can't remember. It also has a small bag that came with it that I can put her bottle in if I need one while out. I love it. The other Skip Hop bag is in the trunk also stocked (I think) and if Jeremy wants to take her solo he would use it. Right now I use it as back up and restock if I need out.

Joyful - I have no advice, but I'm praying! Manda - I don't think that's going to work in our household. That's the time he wants to go to sleep. Literally, he melts down and INSISTS on going to bed that early. I do plan on implementing three meals, though. It's going to be hard for me because I don't' eat breakfast. Jadon did so good at MOPS today. He napped and wasn't a terror today. I've been struggling to feel healthy so all I seemed to be able to do is lay around today, but he even handled that well. I'm learning to let him stay awake longer than his first yawn. It's all just reading his signs. And, on that note, he just woke up 10:04pm - Almost four hours. Right on time. time to feed the little man and go to bed myself. If you feel ducky, can you go vote on my new thread/poll? It's HERE

I am also one who is really not hungry at all in the mornings, but I make myself eat a little fruit - a small banana or an apple. That is literally all I have till lunchtime, apart from a couple of hot drinks. Today, for example, it's 1.30pm now and all I have had today is hot water and lemon juice, a cup of lemon tea, and a couple of slices of apple. I kept breakfast for my two simple - chopped fruit with a little dry cereal, or with some toast fingers. With Jadon wanting to go to bed at 6pm, does that mean you have to start his bedtime routine round about 5pm? (bath, if he has one, nappy change, teeth cleaning, story. prayer)

What about letting him go to sleep at 6 and calling it a nap? You could let him sleep an hour or two and then have him awake for a couple hours before you put him down for the night when you go down. Might help him sleep longer stretches at night. Worth a try anyway...

ORIGINAL: Flintejae Yup - or six pm. It's not an exact time, but it's normally about forty minutes before he goes to bed. My dd was similar to Jadon btw, was ready for bed between 6 and 7. But the similarity ends there because (I was so shocked about this!) from 10wks she slept from 7pm-5am without waking once! Highly surprising after my ds, who was a really unsettled baby! If Jadon persists in wanting to go down for the night at that time, even when he starts not waking for a feed, you may well find he wakes really early the next day (and I mean wide awake!) so you might want to prepare yourself for that, just in case!

ORIGINAL: SweetLittleErin We are about to leave to take Isaac to his developmental evaluation by Early Intervention. I'm kind of nervous about it, I'm sure he's fine but I dont know, I'm still nervous. Please pray that he does good, he's been very active this morning, "talking" and playing so I hope he hasnt worn himself out! Hopefully a good nap on the way will refresh him. His doctor said not to worry because he thinks he is doing amazingly well. Praying, Erin, and looking forward to hearing how he got on!

I have a nursing question. How long do growth spurts last? Hannah has been nursing nearly every hour on the hour --thankfully during daylight hours and not during the night--- for the past 3 days. She sleeps 3 - 3 1/2 hour periods at night and wakes in the late morning ravenous. She isn't lolly gagging either while feeding. She will nurse 15-30 minutes and then want to nurse again an hour later. This ravenous eating happens mainly from 10am - 1pm. Is she trying to increase my milk supply? What is going on with this recent increase in feeding?

Yay for no wires, Erin! Don't you just hate when your baby doesn't show off for the doctor? Well, at least she took your word for it. One thing you can do to encourage grasping is help him hold a rattle or something similar, with a skinny handle. If he still involutarily smacks himself in the face, a soft one would be a good idea. Yeah, you just wrap his little fingers around rattle and hoold them closed and shake his arm. He might like it enough to be really determined to do it himself. So, I'm really happy because Timmy knows what TOMORROW means!!!!!!

ORIGINAL: SweetLittleErin Isaac did okay at his evaluation. He was tired and fussy, he was awake and playing all morning, and had just fallen good asleep for a nap (30 minute drive) so waking him up in a strange place made him cranky. So he wouldnt do anything for her except fuss for me so she had to take our word on everything. She was a little concerned about him not bringing his hands together and grasping things and bringing them to his mouth so she is referring us for an Occupational Therapy evaluation and possible therapy. On a positive note when we got in the doctors office called and they said to take him of the caffeine and sodium AND the monitor!!! We now have a wireless baby!!! Aww congrats Erin! I am sure that makes you so happy!!!

We didn't have exersaucers back in Dinosaur Time - how ever did we cope? lol The most radical thing we had was a baby bouncer (you call them door jumpers) - and my ds loved it? (but my dd didn't)
