eboniqueen -> remarriage (9/28/2008 10:29:12 AM) I have been divorced for three years I have a question concerning remarriage. In the bible it states that the only reason for divorce is cheating spouse. Now my husband divorced me primarily because I wasnt a tidy house keeper I need to know if i am free to remarry and what if anything the bible says about remarriage when its not cheating. We were married 7yrs and we have three children.

IMO your husband divorcing over house cleaning is wrong, but if he left (abandonment) and had no intentions of coming back to restore the marriage, then divorce is ok. Our church had an entire sermon on the topic of the Bible and Divorce and it really cleared a lot of things up (based on OT and NT teachings). DH and I struggled with the divorce issue - right or wrong, since both of our 1st marriages ended in divorce (adultry/abandoment and abuse/abandoment).
