can one buy a usb port expander thangy? I got this laptop as a gift...it is a bit old but working for me. I want to plug in more things but I only have 2 usb ports...I just don't want to feel foolish walking into fry's by myself...something like this must exist.

Oh yeah, they sell usb port expander. But because usb is a power supplier as well you have to decide if the devices are going to be using it to draw power from as well. If they do then the port expander needs to be powered.

They are called usb hubs and they sell them everywhere . Wal-Mart, Target, etc. You don't have to make a special trip to an electronics store.

Hello C.F.,

USB Hubs Range from 11 or so dollars on up. Below is a link with a bunch of Online stores that sell them and there are numerous brands to choose from. Can also instead of ordering it online and having it delivered to your door run down to whatever store has it and is closest. I usually search the local stores online first then make the purchase and run down to pick it up, or if I'm not in a hurry I order it online and have it delivered (I hate shopping :P).

Lynksis isn't bad as it is CISCO based and they have pretty high quality products from my experience.

From cyberguys I just got the 7 port usb hub and the usb keyboard (the one i have is has keys coming off and I have a place in my computer desk to put the other keyboard). I can plug mouse, keyboard and memory stick...plus printer i have set up into this...then have some extra ports left over for more! [:D]
