It was funny, at the beginning of the episode I actually said to dh, Kirsten Bell is still a guest star. I guess that means they'll be killing her off soon

It's a contractual issue. I forget exactly what the deal was, but she was committed to some other project (tv, movie?) and couldn't film her scenes at the same time as the rest of the shooting, so they shot all of her stuff out of order - all at once, IIRC.

Guess I spoke too soon. She was annoying anyways.

I love Hiro! I was cracking up with the whole "Bad Man" line last night. I keep waiting for him to turn into "Cool-Future-Hiro" from the subway in season one, but I guess since they saved the cheerleader (saved the world) that timeline's no more.

I was concerned when I saw Seth Green and Breckin Meyer show up on the Guest Star list last week, but their characters were actually really fun.

I'm trying to tap my memory reserves, but season one was a while back to this addle-brained mom. I vaguely remember the bike messenger that Seth Green mentioned. Does anyone else? Was he a hero?

I'm not sure Elle is gone. We only saw Sylar begin to open her brain. He paused within a few seconds and that's how the scene ended.

Oh, I just got a real Twighlight-y thought here (referring to Breaking Dawn so if you're reading the Twilight series and don't want to know a spoiler, don't highlight). Maybe baby Noah has just been conceived and he was calling out to "Daddy" (like Nessie communicated with Edward while still in Bella's womb) and that's what made Sylar stop. OK, it's a goofy idea, but no more so than a lot of things on Heroes. If so, very ironic that the situation Sylar and Elle were just in with HRG would inspire Noah's name.

Interesting thoughts, State.

We can't assume that the future shown is the future they'll stick with (they've shot that down a few times), but we can assume that they like to incorporate some of it and keep us as off balance as possible.

I was kind of Eh about last night's show, but I'm always like that for 2-parters. Hopefully they'll delve more into why Sylar/Gabriel is making this choice. The motivation was a little unclear to me (other than his general instability and despair). Hiro was probably the most fun thing about last night.

What was the Haitian's name again? I know they used it and I totally missed it.

Internet Movie Database still lists him as "The Haitian."

Did anyone else notice it? I was talking to Dean and I heard them call him by a first name (about the time they took on his brother the final time). It may even have been his brother that used it.

Maybe I was mistaken. Maybe they called the brother by his first name (this is what happens when I'm talking during the show).

The solar eclipse caused alot of havoc. I wonder if Noah's going to kill Elle, thus setting Sylar off again?

Or, Sylar could just do it himself!

I like this show, but things do feel all over the map. Bennet had Sylar in his sights when he was just kissing Elle, but he waited till after sex to try shooting him? And no one apparently thought that powers would come back as soon as the eclipse was over? They were sorta making that obvious when the two healers were dying. Bennet should've done more then simply slit Sylar's throat and walk away.

Hiro actually had some very good moves last night, popping in to pull Elle and Sylar out of the fight. If he can find a healer like Linderman, he can have his memories restored. I really enjoy the scenes at the comic book store.

But good gravy, haven't we been through this father issues with Clair before? It feels a little retread, though I do understand that in real families, children will sometimes get to a point of loving and trusting a parent who has hurt them before, only to be hurt all over again. One does wonder how her mom managed to sneak her out of the hospital with the police there. It's not like the hospital doesn't know where she lives. I'm assuming they had to fill out paperwork at some point.

LOL! Good point!!! Especially since they wanted to question her before her "passing".

Hiro was very heroic in taking Elle and Sylar out of the picture. Just when I was having some compassion toward them, the old Sylar reared his ugly head! Guess I can go back to my disgust of him...

I love the Haitian!!! That was a cool dismantling of his brother!!!

So the Petrelli's manipulated Sylar on his family issues, eh? Figures...didn't see him as one of them...

Poor Peter! He wants to be a hero so bad!!!

Can't wait until next week!!

There's no way of knowing whether Sylar/Gabriel is related to the Petrelli's or not. Remember Bennett is astute with the mind games. He certainly knows about Sylar's mommy and trust issues. However, since both Mr. and Mrs. Petrelli pulled the same line on him separately...without comparing notes...I assume there is some truth in this. Whether he is their actual son or they just know his origin remains to be seen.

Well, since the lie bell rang, we know he's not a Petrelli. We also know where the scar for Peter came from.

Wow! I never thought Mr. Petrelli would go out like that!!! Sylar took him out quick!!!! So if he took the Catalyst from Hiro, and it's not with Claire, who has it?!? Hopefully not Sylar!!!

Will Peter get his powers back?!?

Now that they've created new mutants with the formula, will the military become good or evil?!?

I can't believe next week is the last of the year!!! What will I do on Monday nights?!?

It'll only be a couple of weeks probably. I know I'll be pretty busy with Christmas stuff during those weeks too!

I'm not entirely convinced that Mr. Petrelli is dead. Angela told Peter to shoot him in the back of the head but they didn't. No one's really ever dead on this show anyways!

I also think that Syler may not be Arthur's son, but might still be Angela's. Guess we'll have to wait until the human-lie-detector/lobotomizer visits "Mommy."

Good point, Kat. Mr P maybe alive still. And what about Hiro???? He wanted so badly to protect the catalyst only to have Mr P steal it. Now what??? He's trapped in the past!! I think I'd run to Noah for help, he seems to be the only one who is a good guy/bad guy. So what will Hiro do now???? He's pretty smart and I hope he isn't too dependent on his powers. Poor guy. And now Skyler's again on the loose??? OI!! Please don't tell me I'll have to wait until next Nov to see what happens to Hiro!! Sigh . . .

There are some who actually do die (Mr. Nakamura, Elle, Andrew)...however, it does seem premature for Mr. P to be taken out...

Who has the Catalyst?!?

Does Claire still have her powers?

That was quite an episode...

In shows like this, the military is always evil.

I kinda like Peter without his powers. But maybe Ma P. told Peter to shoot the back of the head because she thought it'd be easier to sneak up from the back? I'm suspicious, too. Right now it looks like no one has the catalyst.

I think Claire still has her powers; she's still her mother's daughter. She's just not the catalyst. Very good scenes with her and Hiro back in the past. That was the best part.

It did give a good insight into their family life. Noah has a good heart...deep down. Man, he should've taken Syler out, though!!! Of course, there'd be no show without him...

Loved this last episode, and I'm glad Skylar is bad again. I really couldn't like him. I did enjoy his scene in the elevator, though!

As far as Mr. P being really dead .... Mr. P took Peter's powers, and Peter had the power of healing (from Claire). So I can't imagine Mr. P is really dead - even if he couldn't heal right away because of the Haitian being there, he should heal soon, right?

I think that's why Angela specified shooting him in the BACK of the head. There does seem to be a spot there that when the healers are injured there, it prevents them from healing. Remember Peter and the glass shard and Claire and the stick in season one? Yeah, I'm convinced Arthur's going to be back.

We finally caught up last night.

I agree. Mr. Petrelli is not dead and Peter should know better. That's his power and he has some experience with it.

However, Mr. Petrelli no longer has the catalyst (other then that big bowl of the formula). My guess is Peter is going to get it. (He was standing right over him when the flash came out of him.) That is how Peter will get a power back. He'll be a healer/catalyst.

I don't mind Sylar going back to evil but I wish the reasoning behind that was more thought out.

I did get all teared up when Hiro's mom got to see him as an adult. It was nice to see some background here.

Does anyone else think Noah Bennett is lucky his wife stays with him? Got the feeling during this episode that she suffers more than most on this series. I couldn't handle the secrecy.

Well, she lost her memory most of the time ala the Hatian. Noah's not all bad. Claire brought that out of him, though...

Hiro and his mom was indeed touching Kids need affirmation and she gave it to him when his father could not.

It'll be interesting to find out who's truly a hero and who's a villain...

Wow, that means we in the UK have almost caught you up - we're only one episode behind now, and we get that here next Wednesday.

Do you really not know when you're getting the next episode?

We know we'll have an episode on Monday. I'm guessing it will be back again in January. Most of the big shows take a break around Christmas time and then start gearing up for Sweeps time in February.

Yup, Heroes returns February 2nd. Wow!!! What an ending!!! Sad ending for Claire's mommy...

Sylar got his AGAIN...so how's he going to resurrect this time?

Well, Nathan seems to be taking over where Daddy Petrelli left off...

Peter got his powers back and Ando has powers now...

Mohinder has his clear skin again...is he still strong?

Nathan plays the us against them card...should be interesting. Kinda like the human vs. mutants played out on X-Men...So which side will Noah be on?

My theory: the heat of the fire melts the glass that Claire jammed into his head, allowing the reconnection of his brain stem and his healing powers to return.

This show is like a bad girlfriend - one or two good things keep me putting up with the multitude of bad things. Could the characters on this show be any more shortsighted and fickle? One days its "Fake powers are bad" then it's "fake powers are good" then it's back to "fake powers are bad." The only one who's consistent and legitimately "dark" or "grey" is Noah (as opposed to the contrived stuff they keep trying to do with Peter, Clair, Mohinder, and now Nathan)

They've done pretty well with managing Hiro's time paradoxes, though (except, so far, for how Claire got the catalyst). Every time he thinks he's going to change history, he winds up playing right into it.

Peter's been consistently good and trying to do right, except for the future Peter. It was weird Claire to be a "bad girl" as well. Good Sylar was the thing that threw me off....the same with bad Mohinder.

Nathan's never been "good" per se. He's always been an opportunist. His havoc that he's going to launch on the Heroes is exactly what was planned by his dad and Linderman.
