I think it depends on the topic that's under discussion. I cannot abide sexist (I hope that's the right word) comments about women. Especially in a thread where you have the opportunity to re-read and edit what you've written, befoe you post it. If a certain comment comes out then I pretty much think that's who you are. But other than sexist comments - I don't brand people 100% by the opinion that they express. (maybe 50% but not 100% ).

P.S. Sexist comments have never come up in Crosswalk, as far as I know, but they crop up often in real life.

Just a suggestion: Don't read the Men's Only folder or you will want to go whack the heck out of something....

Yeah, mens only is full of sexist comments.

In the realms of political opinions than nothing anyone says particularly changes my opinion unless someone states that "i dont really care about the upcoming election. i'm just not gonna vote." Then I just think of them as uninformed, ignorant idiots (in the actual sense of the word [meaning not interested in politics]), however if the opinion is in someway derogatory or discriminatory then of course I am going to see you in a different light. If someone says to me- "fat women are lazy and disgusting people" then I am definately going to see you in a different light! That statement is a MASSIVE generalization, rude, stupid and totally sexist.
If someone says "black people shouldn't run for president" than I am going to see you in a different light! That statement is rascist and horrible!!

However if you say "McDonalds is better than Hungry Jacks (Burger King)" than I'm not going to see you any differently. I'll just be shocked at how anyone can think that

So yes, depending on your opinions I will see you differently, but if it is something small than of course not.

I've been surprised by what some men say when they're in a group of men.

And yes, I've been surprised at the responses from some of the men around here.

But that doesn't change my attitude toward them. They are my brothers and that just doesn't change.

...as far as you know

But wouldn't us men be surprised at what women say when around a group of women also?

I think men would be surprised how women are very open about specific topics, but I don't think they'd be surprised in general by the two-sided coin attitude I've witnessed.

Course, I say that cause I'm a women, so ....
