Just curious.

I'm not in one, but I wish that I was. I work at a library, so I am always having to do stuff with book clubs... If I could only find one that wasn't entirely made up of working adults and that reads Christian books, I would join in a heartbeat!

I was in something that was sort of like a book club, but it was $25 dollars a month, so I only went once, lol.
Then one of my friends invited me to be in his, but they meet on a day that is busy for me.
But I wish I was in one.

I'm not really in one, but I sort of wish I was.

At one point I was invited to a Christian, literary-style (as in no romances, etc) book club. I went for 1 meeting and it was great but I think the hostess and I were the only 2 really enjoying ourselves. The other women were a bit more Janette Oke and were uncomfortable with the reading choices (Gilead, The Brothers Karamazov).

Then Christmas was the next month and my son's birthday the next. By the time I could go again I couldn't find the invitation sheet. I think the club fizzled after that.

I'd love to just go and have coffee with the other girl who started it but the person who originally invited me has moved out of state so I can't even get her phone number.

I'm an avid reader, but not interested in a book club partially due to the books I've seen clubs reading and partially due to the fact that I get tired of hearing people expound on their opinions and feelings while not having tolerance for other views.

The right mix of books and people could be a great club, though.

I'm currently in a book group. It is a secular group but I find that every single book we read is an opportunity for evangelizing. We've read things like True Notebooks and Broken for You recently. . . And I find that every book deals with people's heart needs and we know the answer is Jesus.

I started this book group 25 years ago. I left it when I moved five years later and did not return when I came back to town until last year. So they carried on without me quite well.

I also started a book group at our church many years ago. That, too, was a wonderful opportunity. We read Christian classics as well as come Christian fiction. But that group ended after a couple years when we left the church.

Anyway, I'd encourage you to start a book group if you're longing to read and discuss with others. And use it as a way to speak truth to people who may not hear it in any other forum.

I have never been in a book club, but I've often searched for online ones and come up empty handed.
I thought an online one would be a nice place to start, especially for busy people who just want to read and discuss books, articles, essays etc.

I'm not in one but I love reading and I love the idea of reading the same as other people and being able to discuss it. There are so many times that I'm reading a book and I would love to talk it through with someone.

I'm not in one but I would love to be. I love to read and think it would be great to talk things through with other people.

I'm not in a book club and I have no real interest in joining one. If I had unlimited time, I might join the one at church, but I doubt it.
