Yolanda, I hope you're feeling better today! Sorry about the Old Navy being so far away. Maybe I should go to mine and take some pictures for you, so you know what's available! Let me know if you want me to. Sears has a few nice pieces that you can order...they're a bit pricey...

Today was a LONG day for me! I just got home. 13 hour work days are not so good for pregnant ladies. I taught all day and then had parent teacher conferences for 4.5 hours after school. Yawn! I'm so tired that I'm giddy...heehee...dh thinks I'm going nuts! :)

I went to my midwife yesterday, everything is looking good. We're 31 weeks today - getting close! I'm starting to get nervous. With teaching I have not had time to focus on getting stuff ready at home... Maybe I should go on mat. leave early to get ready, I don't know! Sigh... I guess we'll see! Am I supposed to start packing my hospital bag now? Should I have my baby stuff all ready? Dh still needs to do another coat of paint in the baby room, so I can't set that up until later. Am I just being an overcrazy new mom? I don't know! Help?

I ovulate early in my cycle (cd12) so I was 13dpo last sunday, 3 day before my period was due. That gave me a bigger window before my period was due (which was yesterday)

I found out before I was late too. I think I found out on day 24 or something. My dr. seemed surprised that I could tell already.

Is it odd to say I knew right away? Because I really did. I knew the next day...I don't know how - I just did! I never had the feeling before. My dh thought I was nuts. It was torture having to wait until a test could confirm it, because he wouldn't believe me! :)

Well, my c-section date has been set, January 8th. I really like the OB who is doing the surgery. He has 4 kids, with a 5th on the way. I'm a little ticked at the time, 1pm, which means I have to get up real early if I want breakfast. I wanted a morning surgery, but the scheduling nurse dawdled to long and I missed out.

Despite minor annoyances like that, I still like how I've been treated by Kaiser. They are still offering the VBAC option; I've been told I can always change my mind if I want to back out of the surgery. It's a little nerve wracking, walking knowingly into a section, instead of the midnight, 30 hours of labor, unplanned section from last time.

Maybe I should go find the "unnatural childbirth" thread.

Yay for having a date! Sounds like a good day to have a baby. How nice that you'll be through Christmas season and can have all that stuff put away before she's here!

BTW, one of Brian's PT ladies had a baby a month or so ago. She was supposed to have a scheduled c-section, but her water broke and when she got to the hospital, she was 7 cm, so she ended up going vaginal AND natural. It can happen! Don't wait until the night before to pack your bag.

I'll probably pack the bag this week. The first week of January should be really crazy. I'm tired these days, but ok.

I'm wondering how long it'll be before I come across someone who says, "You're pregnant? I thought your husband was deployed" and then starts counting...
Maybe I should get a shirt that says,
"Justin WAS here when this happened"
LOL

Sandy

LOL!!!

I really liked Motherhood maternity. It was in the mall. Old navy also had AMAZING clothes and deals! I got shirts there, but not pants. It's hard to find pants you like. I really enjoyed the belt that was low, but at the end I really appreciated the large belly cover.

AHHHHH! Look at that -- I'm on the top of the list!!!!!!

Ahem. Sorry for the outburst.

I'm so excited! I can't believe I'm having a baby. :) So far, so good with everything. I'm still working full-time and getting to be a bit stiff and sore. I'm 37 weeks today, so she may come anytime now (all I want for Christmas is a baby....). :)

I'm packing mine today, I swear. Elizabeth's clothes are all ready for her, and mom is stocking me full of diapers.

Man, I'm tired. Thankfully my toddler seems to be getting a little better cough-wise, but we'll see if he relapses. I can sometimes feel my chest rattling when I breath deeply, and I'm coughing up mucus, but seriously, who doesn't have a cold these days?

LOL Ruth!

skillfull - I was used as an example of "dont' do this". I had many people recommend I pack a bag, but I kept putting it off. I really thought I had more time. Then I was put on bed rest at 31 weeks. I was on strict bedrest for 4 weeks before Jadon came. With my next pregnancy, I will make sure baby showers, bags, etc will be done before 30 weeks just in case.

You can always pack *just* before leaving for the hospital, that is what I did...and I was induced

10 days before I was induced I had to stay overnight for observation, we didn't really need anything other then what I had packed on our way out the door- clean undies, sweatshirts, and cookies. Oh, and Micah grabbed the laptop, which was handy. My purse always has other essentials like cell phone, insurance cards, and the camera.

Me too. But I already knew that I have really long labors. I wouldn't recommend doing that for a first time mom or one who has had shorter labors.

Everyone was getting on my case to pack a bag, but for some reason I wouldn't. I made a list earlier of stuff I wanted to take, that way we knew but I didn't have to have it pack. I got a sign early in the morning that labour was coming soon, so I was able to grab my list and pack then (and then I went out for the largest lunch I'd ever had in my life and went into labour in the evening.)

I might not do it that way again though.

Y'all are making me nervous. I'm so bad at packing to begin with, let alone packing for the relatively unknown. And I suspect a good bit of what I'll want/need will be used on a regular basis right before we leave for the hospital.
