TorchHeart -> Praise you God for my nephews. (9/15/2008 1:13:25 PM)

Lord, I thank you for what you are doing in the lives of my nephews, Kyle and Luke. Both are good kids who have had us worried for a while due to their grades in high school. Kyle has started college in Whapeton, ND. He was playing football, but now is thinking about quitting. While normally I would say this is a bad thing, the reason he is thinking of quitting is because of his diesel mechanics classes. If he's not going to be playing much, he wants to dedicate more time to his studies. After years of not liking school while in high school, he has found something that he enjoys and wants to make a career out of! He LOVES working with his hands, and he's got the mind to work with engines. Now he just wants to develop the skills. As for his brother, he hasn't been very motivated in school and has gotten bad grades despite being more intellegent than he tries to be. This semester, he has been raving about how wonderful his high school carpentry class is. He likes it a lot, and now seems to want to do this as a career, if he could just find a school to attend and learn more about it. God, thank you. Let this please be a stepping stone for Luke to find his place in the world and be motivated to have a good career and life ahead of him. Thank you, God, for both of these boys. I've only known them since my marriage, but they are truly wonderful young men. Help them along and keep these good things going in their lives. Their lives have been tough enough up to this point. I pray in the name of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, the Merciful Savior, that this is the start of new beginnings for both of them. Amen.
