Although I must admit that those pink heals I mentioned over in Karlie's thread when I was much, much, MUCH younger sure were cute and went very nicely with the pink outfit I had..

I think that's the only time I was fascinated with heals.

Give me a pair of Birks (or Chacos, depending on what I'm doing); and I'm happy.

I'm with fluffmonkey. I don't really know why. I don't have a lot of them (only about 20 pairs - wait ... that sounds like a lot). But they just make your feet look so cute! I like the styles and the colors and some shoes are so artistic or sleek in design. I was trying to think of a male equivalent; maybe electronic gadgets or cars?

LOL!! That makes my 35 pairs sound even worse?!?! I just like that I can make a statement with my shoes, I like cute heels, converse, fat baby boots, flip-flops, you name a type of shoe and I probably have a pair of them lurking in my closet?!JK!! Anyway, I think it's kind of like some guy's obsession with "Big boy's toys", instead of being something with a motor though, it's shoes!

There's just something about a pair of cute shoes that catches my eye! Plus - they can really transform what you are wearing them with. They can transform jeans and a black shirt into an "outfit" or change a boring suit into a statement. :)

I can talk about me woman, why I enjoy specific shoes and sandals with heels my favorite of them all as quality shoes is a must...to me it all start playing with my Mamas high heel shoes as my favorities ones at 4/5 years old. By the time I was allowed to wear them I was 15. Although since 13 was allowed to have nails done with very light cream and pink colors, we did have a manicure who came home weekly (yes there was option, it was commom in my country and not need to be rich, to have a family lady manicure weekly, on fridays or saturday mornings, attending all females in the family or they may choose to go to beauty saloon also)

Than to me started with Mom high heels play, than taking care for my feet and nails than coming to age to finaly wear high heels and than love for skirts and dress wear. During school wear the uniform had to wear those ugly black shoes and to sport tennis shoes both with socks, I have horror to wear socks! And when in free time free breathing pretty shoes not socks is freddom happy feet, to me...particular when the country you live in is hot and humid and etc

I love the tight friendship between manicured nails done by myself since 16 years old, heels, skirts and dresses that is my free style for a long time, working style sure is a different one though I wear boots and tennis shoes with the nasty socks [:'(]...[:D]

Aaahhh yes ... 'tis a thing of beauty when that transformation takes place. Brings a tear to ones eyes [&:]. And Adriana, I hate those clunky shoes and socks too - I can sympathize with you.

Auben, what you said is true. There are definitely exceptions to every rule. For example, I love shoes, but have never really cared much for jewelrey. I don't wear bracelets, rings, anklets, or even a necklace. I only wear earrings because I've been wearing them since I was a baby (a cultural thing - all babies got their ears pierced and wore gold earrings (because gold was cheap, plentiful and durable). I think I was probably about 4 or 5 before I realized that my earrings could actually be removed from my ears.) While I appreciate gemstones, but it is rare for me to see something that I like or would wear.

Different shoes have different personalities. My gold sandals make me feel incredibly sexy, which is contrary to reason, but there you go, lol. My black heels make me feel powerful. My fave shoes, brown Dansko mary janes, make me feel confident. My tennis shoes make me feel able to leap tall buildings.

How many baseball caps do you own?

I don't know about everyone else but I LOVE shoes because there are sooooooo many different types and heights and colours and stuff, shoe shops remind me of sweet shops for that reason, I have to run and look at all of them and I'm like "oooooooh!" "ahh look at the pretty colours!" "they would look great with my new dress!". I could be wearing a bin liner but if I have an awesome pair of shoes or boots on I'll be happy lol. :)

Yep Rgod, that was torture hot and ugly. I kind of wish to grow up fast and get to wear what my Mother and aunts were wearing, it was the late 60's and early 70's, many fashion styles going on around plus she was a "chameleon" as going to dressy parties, Uni student to become social worker, into theater and music. She was classy, stylish and I admire her wardrobe and was trying all of that on to decide my style favorities etc...

Hmmm at that time shoes matched the outfit and even was made in same material it was amazing..well, maybe because I was a kid everything looked fantastic and adults were giants, parents heroes and fashion models. [;)] Well, at that time people smoked everywhere of course with kids around plus the amount of hairspray being spraying to keep those hairdos up and around was monstrous..dont know how kids survived all that toxic stuff..[8D]


Many things I carry have my young artistic Mother fingerprint on it, she was just 18 when married and still very young when I was a teen. Unique choice for leather bags, belts, single big acessories and shoes. My Grandma was into style and fashion business, that explain some I supose. I love my family's women very much so.


Every woman do have a story to tell may start with any pair of shoes or shoeless and than se gets to go sooo many to places, meet people etc ! That is awesome![:)]

I don't know. My parents, sister and brother have a ton of pairs of shoes. My brother was staying for 2 nights and brought 3 pairs of shoes! I had to make fun of him for that because I didn't understand it. My parents came a couple days after them and my mom had like 3 pairs too. I don't know why people like shoes so much. [&:]

I have one pair of hiker's and will be getting a new pair of shoes that are a bit "dressier"... if I feel like it. [8D]

Personally I prefer to go barefoot, or as close to it as possible. I don't see shoes as a fashion accessory and don't own many- 1 pair black dress flats, 1 pair bone/ecru dress flats, 1 pair sneakers, 1 pair work boots, 3 pairs of sandals/flip-flops, and 2 pairs of beaded mocassins I wear with my regalia.

Don't have much in the way of jewelry either, and all of my clothes could fit into 2 suit cases.

I love shoes. They are fun, and they make me taller! Although, I also can't wait to get my shoes off and prefer to be barefoot or just wearing socks. I have about 25 pair of shoes, I believe. I'm always looking for more, too. [:D]

I have a hard time finding high heels that work for me. I fell in love with this pair a couple of weeks ago (and can't stop thinking about them... *sigh*) that were a very high heel, but basically just black pumps. I don't have anything that's really like them, but I couldn't wear them. I found my size, and the heels slipped up and down. I found a size smaller, and even though my toes felt squished, I literally walked right out of them when I tried to walk in them. It's a common problem for me, unfortunately.

I guess I love shoes because they can make any outfit fun... and pretty much every pair of shoes I own (including my winter boots and my flip flops) are high heeled shoes. I'm 5'2'' and love any way that I can be a bit taller! Plus I feel a bit cuter in them than I do in sneakers.

I'm not into shoes at all. I have about five pairs of shoes that I wear regularly. And that includes my Nikes. All my shoes are mainly basic black with one brown, so they'll more or less match with anything.

I think that to a large extent it must be inborn. I know a little girl who, at the age of barely two, would try on every pair of shoes left off to the side during karate class. Every week we had a shoe fashion show! LOL
